Characters that grew on you (or did the opposite)

Rarity. At first I disliked her prissy, fashionista almost diva-like personality. But then after a whilea nd a few episodes (Art of The Dress, Sweet and Elite) I began to appreciate her kind fabulousness. Sisterhooves Social = big points for her too. She is now my third favourite pony. Surpassed by Pinkie and Fluttershy, Pinkie being number one.

I never really hated any of the ponies, but I'll have to jump on the bandwagon and say Rarity was my least liked pony. But episodes like "Sisterhooves Social" and "Dragon Quest" got me liking her more.

Wow so like... everyone hated Rarity at first.. now they love her... well I hate to say it but I'm on board with them :P

Yeah when I first started watching the show I thought, "Rarity is going to be the one I really dislike." but wow was I ever wrong. I love how generous she is, and she's overall just a good natured person who wants what's best for her friends. Even things that annoyed me in Season 1 don't exist anymore, like how she'd just kinda discard Spike and what not... now he's her little Spikey Wikey and that makes me like her even more.

I really didn't like Pinkie Pie at first, I found her antics particularly annoying. But as the show progressed, I was able to tolerate her. Then after the Smile Song, I really started liking her. Also, I do find Applejack to be a somewhat bland character, but I still like her.

I never hated anypony since

I strongly disliked Twilight because of her 'too good for you' attitude in the first episode but now I'm like "I can't believe I hated Twilight. Twilight is awesome!!!!! One of my favorites next to Pinkie and Rarity

Pinkie Pie would annoy me to no end but now she's my second favorite pony. :)

Applejack is good never really had prob with her

Rarity was my fav from the start and just appealed to me.

Fluttershy's quietness can become excessive but I can understand why.

Rainbowdash comes off as egoistic still does but I still like her.

Rarity. Probably because the first episode I watched was "Lesson Zero", and all she did in that episode was say the same line over and over again.

Now she's either my favorite or second favorite character. Shows how much initial reactions are worth.

When I first started to watch the show I had a strong dislike for both Rarity and Pinkie, I thought they were trying too hard with Pinky to be random, and funny, and I thought Rarity was way stuck up. As it turns out Rarity is now my favorite pony and I’ve learned that Pinky is Pinky nothing you can do about it. It also helps that whenever I listen to the Smile Song my mood instantly brightens.

Not really a pony, but I honestly thought Spike was the most annoying faggot. I honestly DESPISED him for some reason. Once I re-watched all the episodes, I realized hat I really like his character and his one-liners (which are usually pretty funny).

While I can say with confidence that I have never hated a pony, or any character from the series. I can say that I have not liked some characters for the things they have done. Diamond Tiara is one such character. A character who remains the most unpopular of any character in MLP: FiM series. A character that after awhile I began to see as misunderstood. Yet still a character who appears to embody much of things that we don't like in other people. I do know that this might have been the intent of the story writers. To create a villain or an oppressive force with few redeeming traits in order to create a story with conflict. As was the case with Gilda. This being said I can say that I ended up liking Diamond Tiara. Not a lot, but more than I used to. Not for what she is now, but for what she could be. Right now she is the pony everyone loves to hate, but to me there is more to her than what we've been shown. I would give her a chance to prove herself a good pony, and I think she can if she was challenged in the right ways. I can't say with certainty that she would prove to be a good pony, but others can't say she wouldn't. This is what makes this subject intriguing to me. The possibility of a great villain becoming a great hero.

Also, I didn't like Rarity at first. Primarily because she seemed like the girly girl, but then I realized. She is only that way in part. She is also pretty classy, and sophisticated. This is something I respect in other people. Class, and the ability to hold onto one's integrity as such. Too often I have seen people spout hateful nonsense for no reason other than to be hateful. It takes class to see these people for what they are. It also takes class to know how to put these people in their place without succumbing to their venom. I think Rarity is more than capable of this.

At first, I didn't really like Rainbow Dash that much, but then I saw how loyal she is to her friends and she's done a lot of good like saved Rarity, tried to cheer up Fluttershy, etc. Although still not one of my favorites, she definitely earned a lot of respect points with me.

Also, who could resist this face?

Rarity, because of her need to be elite, but after a few episodes of her, you can see her more caring side that is genuine. Like in the Sisterhooves Social.

Hmmm, let's see. This is going to sound off the beaten path, but Nightmare Moon. To begin with, I thought she was a cliche villain that was pretty lame. Discord outshone her for me on numerous different levels. Now, though Discord will still never be anything less than best villain, Nightmare Moon has grown to be my second favorite villain; her design and back story are really unique.

But as far as Mane Six go, probably Twilight & Applejack. They were both lower on the spectrum at the start, but rose to be third and second place respectively for me.

At first I really didn't like Fluttershy (yes I know, Im a monster :( ) but after awhile her cuteness started spread and she grow in the ranks, albeit only 5 on the list, still beats Pinkie pie.

At first glance I thought Rarity was a generic snobby elite with a few straightened out priorities. Then came A Dog and Pony Show where i saw her really show a creative, tactive, take charge attitude to her that really pushed her likeability.

Rarity definitely and recently sweetie belle as well. Somehow she's beginning to complete with scootaloo as my favorite cmc. Actually the most extreme case is pinkie pie who is now my second favorite. First few episodes I was quite honestly annoyed by her, now I want more of her every episode

Rarity, she seemed like the generic snobby high class bitch at first but I eventually started to like how she is the high class one that breaks the stereotype of that type of character being a total bitch. Then she started to become caring, and make her drama funny instead of jarring. Rarity <3

If I had to list all the ponies I don't like on the first glance, but later I grew to a liking to, then it would be pretty much every major characters and some famous background ponies Posted Image

The most noticeable ones are Fluttershy and Luna. At first I see them as "generic shy character" and "unnecessary atoned evil figure so the show wouldn't look so dark", but after a few months, yeah you can guess what happened :P

Honestly I did not like Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash was my favorite at the time. But as I grew in the community, Fluttershy grew on me as my favorite pony EVAR! I think it was a masculinity issue at first, but then I stopped caring and started loving.

Rarity for sure; I was so worried when I first saw her that she was simply designed to appeal to the girliest of demographics, and would end up being nothing but a whiny, useless fashion-obsessed diva. But, thankfully, I've since been proven wrong!!! Rarity is a fantastic character in every sense of the word; as far as personal responsibilities go, she's probably the most mature of the Mane Six (maybe even the oldest), and the fact that she's the only one who runs her own business all by herself is especially indicative of this. Her personality has really grown on me, and rather than be simply annoying, for me, everything about the way she acts is a beloved part of her character, and I couldn't imagine her acting otherwise. Not to mention, she has by far the most impressive singing voice of all of the Mane Six, and is definitely my favorite singer from the group, at least as far as vocal talent is concerned! Love ya Rarity!!!! :D
