How much time do you think passes between episodes, and also...

Definitely alot of time passes between each episode. In episode three, Twilight mentions to Fluttershy when she is cleaning her house that it's summer. However, 8 episodes later, in Winter Wrap Up, its spring. So that means within 8 episodes, around 3 quarters of a year have passed. How much time is between episodes? Also, how come we don't get to see all the lessons Twilight learns about friendship? Since, in 8 episodes, 3 seasons pass, that means about 30-33 weeks have passed. In Lesson Zero, Twilight made it seem as if she has never had the problem of "not sending the Princess a letter every week," or else she wouldn't have flipped out like she did. But if 30 weeks have passed in 8 episodes, shouldn't she have already learned 30 lessons? How come we don't get to see those? o_o

Maybe we just get to see the most important lessons? I think this also seems to fit with the theory that some of the episodes get moved out of sequence for one reason or another causing such irregularities.

There is not set duration between each episode, they just skip ahead to whenever is convenient for them. And as for the other lessons, we can only assume they were terribly uninteresting, and therefor we were not bothered with their passing.

I don't think Equestria follows the same linear calender like we do. I think each one of their days is a year in our terms. I think that makes much more sense. Also I think time is measured differently in Equestra. They have hours, minuets, and days, but they don't seem to have years.

You forgot that in less than 5 episodes summer was ending, and just a few episodes before it was Winter Wrap Up xD

I think they just show important life lessons, even though Twilight is supposed to send lessons every week (well at least on the first season) xD

Ahh yes, here goes me rambling on again, trying to think of the logic in a show with multicolored talking ponies... but yea, i guess what you guys are saying makes sense.

It's a chronological inconsistency because Hasbro didn't allow Studio B to make it a storyline format for season one, but as time went on, things started to make more and more sense with the continuation perk established effectively after the Return of Harmony - thus Studio B had more control of their own show than Hasbro. We can still safely order the episodes from season one, though - the Gala episode looked to be the very last of season one no matter what order the episodes appeared in. All that being said, I'm confident that we can expect a storyline format from season three with the way things are looking up, and also contributing factors like the season having 13 episodes (providing flexibility for a chronological timeline to be implemented), and the...

current ordeal of the crystal kingdom that was leaked a few weeks ago.

Mabye they go though there season faster then we do because there is the fact that the ponys make the season if im not mistaken.

I had never thought of this!

But they defiantly have the same year length as RL (mentioned in a friend in deed) so maybe they just have a really long autum and spring? (3months of winter coolness is mentioned in winter wrap up so we know winter is approx the same length as are's )

It could be that there winter is longer to show the history of there intergation among each other as shown in (Hearth's Warming Eve).

I'm just gonna go with Dragon fable's answer for everything on this. Magic. Magic is what makes this make sense.

Yeah, not every episode is like it's the next day. It cannot be too much time because skipping a year or something like that is pretty ridiculous. Obviously, bad thing don't happen to Ponyville on a daily basis. Seriously, can you imagine every episode's problem happening day after day? I say it can be no more than a couple months or so. It's a rather short time.

I can imagine that the go through normal "Meh" days like I'm guessing all of us here go through as well. The times intresting things happen is what the episodes show.

So to answer your question, it can be between one day to over one of our years.

And like Twi Rubix said...

Yep. Property values would probably be equal to that of a landfill, or New Jersey if these things happened daily. Edited by L-PinkVsD-Pink327

I think the episodes happen week by week, or at least I usually do, except that some of them are out of order like Winter Wrap Up and Fall Weather Friends, which should probably switch places to make slightly more sense. I'm probably wrong on all this though...
