Have you come across any? Do you think its their fair right?

I've heard a couple of horror stories on the MLPTP about fans losing the MLP spirit.

One such story is finding a whole lot of Blind Bags ripped open and stolen from Walmart. What I was thinking was, well, if this so called brony/pegasister wanted a rare BB, they could probably just see into reading the identification codes  And even then, how totally rude that now the little kids who ALSO love the show and its toys are totally going to miss out on collecting a rare pony just because they don't join an adult web community with its hacks! (They don't even sell BBs where Iive and I'm also sure for many others, so what about that? :/)

More recently, there have been some awesome MLP posters given out, the deal was one poster per customer pony purchase.

Apparently, some so called "brony" went and took a whole load of them. (Quote below from the MLPTP thread)

Quote:

They're just a promo thing, as far as I can tell. I didn't even notice them when I first went by the display. Then my boyfriend came up and he was like "HEY! They have placemats!" and I was like "Huh?" so I went to look.

He saw some guy grab like a half-inch stack of each so he thought they were placemats.

What about the other fans? What about the KIDS who actually want one of these on their fricking bedroom wall? Now they have to BUY these flimsy piece of paper just so this brony can get hundreds of dollars of profit for something that was a reward for the buying fans?????

And well, now these "Freebies" are selling for $10+ a pop.

My personal opinion, (and you're free to say how you feel otherwise) is this is just indeed an extortion of excitable fans. No good spirit here whatsoever. MLP merch has officially become happy traffic to soulless money making....

I totally agree with you, these people are soulless creatures. But I'm not suprised at all. You'll find scoundrels in every community, even bronies. Sad but true. Although I wonder if thiefs can call themselves "bronies".

It doesn't matter what the subject is, the medium, or even the audience ... if there is money to be made, people will exploit it. After all, we are just Humans. If we weren't, then we wouldn't have such a fantastic Equestria to dream about.

Some people will utilise any combination of text, pictures and action to make money. It is a very enthusiastic community and I am sure there would be people buying those posters for $10. If the sellers proclaim to be bronies and maybe make a few posts to give the impression, then it is their marketing technique and not necessarily the truth. Taking a whole bunch of posters is one thing, and maybe the person just got excited and will learn the lesson. But ripping open blindbags is just stupid and vandalism.

Even so, I don't think we should get too worked up about it. People acting parasitically off the MLP reputation was to be expected since it is successful. They can't continue if they have no buyers, and the ones who rip open bags will just be caught by store security one day.

I admit, I actually took one of each of those posters. Though I wasn't sure if we were supposed to buy a pony to get them or not. They looked free to me, so I just took one of each. It was the night shift, and they had just been put out by the previous shift. No instructions for them had been posted anywhere. I kinda wish they would have just wrapped them up and sold them, seeing as the cashiers totally derped when I brought them to the counter with the rest of my stuff...

"Oh noes, no barcode. What does I do?" An equally clueless manager was called in, yadda yadda yadda, the whole store knows I'm a brony now. I think even now, they still don't know what they're supposed to do with them... :P

It did cross my mind that someone could easily take a stack of them and sell them on eBay, though. I was expecting to hear about someone doing that. I would never do that, I just wanted all three of them... Now I feel bad because I didn't buy any pony merch to get them..... :(

Wow. Sometimes, I don't even think these are bronies. They may be haters or some person who heard that bronies will pay a lot of money for those or something. Really....Just...wow.

Don't feel bad! I think the subject is people who stuff as many as they can into their backpack and make a runner to the eBay sell page. I think I was a bit too harsh above.

Welp, it's official, there's pony-related theft. Honestly, from reading the reply the guy who took some posters made, I realised that it's not that bad. But pony crime in general is obviously bad.

The BB guy was an absolute theif, who would do that? I mean, he just waltzed in, ripped open some BB bags, and walked out like nothing happened.

Also, I really hope there's no one who actually stole those just to sell them to bronies at a profit, because that would be the worst kind of person, EVER.

@,HEY! Easy does it, lady!

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNVIpqLovAo&feature=plcp

I would never do that. :(

@, Hey, you can always fix that by buying em later! :D

Anyway, I think this was done by people who are a ) pony haters or b )don't care about bronies. So please, don't spread negativity by saying you "lost faight in bronies" - in a) case this would be a nice side effect for haters.

This isn't the first time I've heard of people being total pricks over toys and merchandise, but it's always disappointing to read about. I remember there was a lot of hype and a few incidents over some Tickle Me Elmo doll years ago, and probably other things I can't remember.

I'm not a collector or an eBay seller, and I really have no perspective on what goes through their heads...

Very sad to hear about this, but also not surprised. Every fanbase (and, well, organization and/or social group in general) always has their fair share of social deviants, and bronies are no different. All I can say is, don't be like those greedy buggers everypony.

P.S. Love those new posters for Season 2!!! Those things are S-I-C-K, SICK!!!!!! B)

It's no different than most other things on eBay. Heck, people sell freakin' tissues used by famous people on there, so a free My Little Pony poster being sold on there is nothing different. It does seem a bit stupid to put them up there immediately after getting them, though. It seems more like something that'd be sold on eBay once it's rare.

It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again...

Every group has to have their d-bags, it's almost unavoidable with any group that has any substantial following. Just, y'know don't encourage them to much.

This is just like Tf2.

Oh, Adult Swim is giving away free Robot Chicken hats! Better get as many as I can and sell them!

Or: Oh steam is giving away discount coupons. Better sell them!

Not at all surprised about this, actually...MLP became increasingly successful after FiM came out, it was only a matter of time before someone went and used it in their favor. Frankly, those people aren't quite soulless, they're just being human. It's really nothing to have a seizure over. Sure, what they did was illegal and awfully mean, but the law will catch up with them eventually.

Not to say enigmatia didn't have a point, though...they forgot the kids that are fans of the show/toys as well. I've got to agree that the people who are either so eager to have these things or just want them for profit are selfish turds...but hell, we can't do much about it other than wait. Mark my words, karma'll come and bite 'em in the butt when they least expect it.

thats so crappy >:( people like that make me weep for the human race haha. You would think that they would at least take a lesson from the show and not be such a greedy, capitalist pig lol

Leaves me quite calm somehow. Yea, such people are everywhere, though I don't think it's something to get so much worried about.

Losing your hope in humanity/bronies over actions of few individuals ? Not quite wise I'd say.

I... don't really know what to say here. I'm not really sure how to describe how I feel about some crazed brony going into Walmart to steal a bunch of kids toys. Either way, it's people like this that don't exactly make me proud of being a brony.
