Songs/groups you just can't get into...

the only thing of music in the world i've found out i CAN'T get into, physically, is goregrind. while i can tolerate the musical content, because i listen to my share of noisy stuff, i just can't stand the down-pitched growling. physically. if i listen to Last Days of Humanity, for example, and the growling comes in, my bowels feel like they are twisting around, starts hurting, and i need to get to the bathroom immediately. it's the only album from my audio collection i've ever needed to delete from it because of that very reason: it hurts my bowels when listening to it.

i am not exaggerating, by the way.

Haha yea goregrind is really hard to enjoy, there are a few bands I have found that aren't as noisy and have a little bit of groove to them. If you ever wanna check em out, look up Jig Ai, Cock and Ball Torture and Rompeprop (although, admittedly, all 3 of them are technically classified as 'porngrind' but there's not much difference except the violent themes are replaced with more sexual ones).

Awesome avvie btw.

I can pretty much enjoy music from anything...........ya know, except classical :P. Have to keep things pretty modern, or at least upbeat. Classical feels a little TOO old. I'm talking about Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, whatever. Those epic movie scores don't exactly count, since I can get into them quite well at time.

I think country for me is pretty good but in short bursts. I enjoy rap and hip hop but I think the songs now a days are becoming all chorus. I also don't like it when all they talk about is sex, drugs, and money. This is why I appreciate songs that send good morals, such as T.I.'s Dead and Gone. I can't stand that one song where the guy mostly says, "faded, faded, faded, ...."

HEY GUYS. IT'S THAT SONG WITH A MILLION PARODIES!

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWNaR-rxAic

I will never understand why this song gained a lot of fame like it did. It's just a typical pop song about......WHAT ELSE.....a young immature love song. It's probably because many of the OIympic teams did it.

Amen to this... I honestly can't stand listening to this song. I honestly also can't stand mainstream anything anymore... I really don't like modern pop/rap/hip-hop...

Watch the music video, too. Where is there any indication in the song's composition is a REAL instrument heard? They show the band having drums, a guitar, and piano like some common rock band when the song is all composed on computer. Idiots.

There is one genre I can't possibly get into, because you can make a song in it by opening a raw wav file in Audacity (A 1 minute process). That genre is Noisecore. It's just crackling static and high pitched garbling being spewed out with long silences in between. At least dubstep takes SOME effort. Noisecore doesn't even need talent, skill, or even any special programs.

They want people to think it takes people to play it, just to fill up the stage... I actually don't have any problem with it being composed on a computer... I have a problem when they make it seem like those select people actually play it...

Yeah I agree with everything on this... I actually don't mind OD though... I don't know. I really can't stand country though, in my opinion it all sounds the same... Edited by Dusty Soul

Well, I can list a LOT of bands/singers I can't get into:

Justin Beiber: Sounded like a girl, now is a jerk and still acts like a girl;Songs are annoying

One Direction: Stuttering, and just Justin Beiber Wanna-bes; songs are annoying

Nicki Monaj: Is she even singing? ._.

Enimen: White guy who acts black; don't really like songs

That's basically it. I don't really hate music a lot, but those bands/singers get on my nerves. Nowadays anyone can become famous: Just use autotune. :P

This country cover of Gin and Juice is awesomely hilarious. I hope someone finds it as fun as I do! I Like country, but not most of the stuff you hear these days.

I have never liked Avril Lavigne or The Darkness. I can usually find something I like in every genre, though. From Backstreet Boys to Sublime to Metallica to Garth Brooks to Slipknot.... It kinda keeps going on.

Don't judge me for liking BSB. They were cool when I was 12, and I still glitterheart them.

These two acts piss me off just for the sake of their music. I absolutely do not get how people can listen to such garbage. But hey, tastes are tastes!

Yeah, I agree big time with Nicki Minaj, she just can't really do anything... Eminem did have some good songs, but for the most part he's just ok... Justin Beiber was ok in my opinion... One Direction, ok they have talent I don't doubt that, the thing is though... They don't do the right type of music for their voices...

I cannot stand pop music. I also have a major hatred to dance, r'n'b and all of their bastard offspring! I'm not even slightly joking. Being forced to listen to that stuff drives me psychotic with rage. Many people who know me know that when I say "I can tolerate it" I'm giving high praise.

I listen to a lot of metal and goth stuff myself. Also like rock (classic and current).

I like how anyone who says metal says it's because of screaming or growling as if that made the genre what it is. There is a TON of metal out there that has absolutely no screaming or growling, though some do have falsetto instead which, in a sense, is about the same thing as a scream. (I'll never understand how anyone can love ACDC and their falsetto and not like screaming or growling)

I agree! I really get ticked at people that think metal is all about how loud they can be, sometimes it can have some deeper meaning that is actually quite clear. (I actually like ACDC, for the music not the singer)

I evaluate songs on an individual basis, and I have pretty bad taste in music myself, so I like almost anything I hear. I suppose some songs don't really 'catch' my attention, and that tends to be when the song lacks danceability.

Where to begin... well, like most in here I have issues with country music. Not most of the "classic" stuff like Hank Williams, Johnny Paycheck, Boxcar Willie, etc., though they too have made several things I don't care for. What I don't like are the really "twangy" songs that are all about some guy getting drunk, wrecking his truck, losing his woman, and going to jail/killing himself, or any of the country-pop that has so enraptured most people I know back home.

The hip-hop I remember from my childhood, the stuff of the 80s and early 90s... love it. Gangster rap and anything of the sort that everybody is blasting from their cars today, hate it.

Blood on the Dancefloor is a bastardization of music in my opinion. I can usually at least tolerate all kinds of music because it has some sort of creativity or skill put into it, but holy f@#$ that band is AWFUL.

I had never heard of them until you mentioned them. I wish you hadn't. The lyrics are some of the weakest things I've ever heard; regardless of their intent when writing them, they convey nothing meaningful. Depending on the song, the lyrics read like what I imagine these kids would discuss on the school bus, or some of the lamest beatnik poetry of all time. The worst part of all was the music videos I found on Youtube. First one I watched was Rise and Shine. Sorry, but kids acting like fools in a school hallway with one of them painted like she's trying to get into Kiss just doesn't do anything for me. And check out the band leader's description of the band on tunecore.com. It couldn't be more asinine.

If that's your peeve with Dubstep then I think Melodic/Liquid Dubstep is probably something you can appreciate more than other sub-genres.

Thanks. This is something I've been looking for.

Pop, Rap, Dubstep and that kinda stuff. I don't really like Country but I have to put up with it 'cause my parents play it a lot. Real music is stuff like The Offspring. Punk Rock is the best genre. I quite like Grunge but it's not my favourite

Pop music

Country music

Dubstep

I just don't really like any of those genres of music. I will listen to pretty much anything else.

I just can't get into more hardcore Metal, like Black Metal and the sorts. I can appreciate the instrumentals, but the vocals just turn me off.

Same here.

I've never really had a taste for a lot of AOR.  Bands like Survivor, Journey, and the like.  It's kind of generic and watered down music IMO.

Then there's the more popular metalcore/post-hardcore bands which I'll never like.

#1 Asuka fanboy.
