Where do you work, and just what hours and how does it leave you feeling?

I am currently a part time package handler at FedEx, part time self-employed fursuit maker (might extend that to making costumes in general, clothing, and maybe even music someday).

I actually really love my job at FedEx, which is surprising. Pay is good, coworkers are all nice, management is great, benefits are cool, and every once in a while we get food, like pizza or hamburgers. Usually I get between two and three and a half hours in each day depending on volume and which particular job I'm doing (either unloading vans / trailers, scanning packages as they go down the belt, or loading packages into trailers), but with peak season coming up, we'll probably get four or more hours on the average day. I also volunteered to work Saturdays when that happens. I always appreciate more money. The only real downside is how tiring it can be, but a good way to look at it is I get paid to get in a workout every day.

As for the self-employed job: my manager is a dumbass, the hours are inconsistent (and sometimes incredibly rough - we're talking occasional ten hour days or longer), pay is under the federal minimum wage, but at least now I can make costumes for myself instead of paying someone thousands of dollars to make them for me. Also those problems will somewhat solve themselves as I gain experience.

Before everything went south and everyone was forced to close their doors and lock the gates, I worked at Disneyland, which is where I’ve been for five+ years. As much as I love evening hours I almost never got them. I was almost always put on mornings and had to arrive way before the actual shift so I could get properly prepared and attired for work. The pay was never what you’d call lucrative but it never needed to be. With some clever maneuvering I was able to make ends meet and pay the bills. The real reward was the job itself and showing off my favorite place on earth as though it were my own (which I still consider it to be). I love having direct contact with the guests of the park, which is fun, rewarding and often surprising. It’s the privilege of Cast Members to make each guest’s experience a special one. Such an experience I had visiting the park at age 6 left such an impression that I ultimately ended up working there myself as an adult. A little ways back I had to change from my dream job at the park to one of a supporting nature for other (younger) Cast Members. It’s not as fun but I still love to be useful when and where I can. It’s not often that one can have a job that is so beloved that it doesn’t even feel like work (even when it’s taxing). If I could, I’d work there forever, for free.

I'm an accountant for a small business firm. I was hired a few months after graduating college, having previously did temp work. I started with data entry on tax returns and clerical things, but over time I've done write-ups for audits, bank reconciliations and corporate returns. My normal hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday with an hour-long break for lunch. Starting in February and continuing through 2 1/2 months, I work Saturdays. In the weeks leading up to deadlines, my hours stretch into the evenings. My boss is hot and cold, but he pays me well and I get good benefits. He also buys dinner for the office during tax season on longer days of work. He has been taking some extended breaks to watch over some properties he owns in North Carolina, so the atmosphere is a lot less stressful. I'm on fairly good terms with the people I work with. I still keep in touch with my old office manager.

My day-to-day routine didn't change much during the pandemic, the exception being our busy season being pushed to mid-July instead of mid-April. We also had to close our office to the public for the spring and early summer.

I work as a waitress, hostess and takeout specialist at Cracker Barrel. I work 4-6 days a week typically for in between 4 to 8 hours depending on the day and time of year. I generally really love my job, it’s fun and I love interacting with people so I kinda thrive on it. A few of my coworkers I consider my best friends, my managers are cool, not to mention I make good money, especially during the holiday season. It isn’t considered a full-time job, I don’t have the time to devote to that with college.

I work in paint at Home Depot part time,  I tend to work 25-35 hours depending on the seasons. Normally I don't mind my job and it can be fun and rewarding,  just right now with the mind set of the COVO.   It has made things like a mental war  zone given how ppl are acting and it becoming the normal.  I have at times dreaded going into work knowing how on edge everyone is. And it has effected me as a person on some levels.

School from eight to three and it is the most miserable experience you could possibly think of, I hate to say.  All of my worst problems in life have been brought on there and I have been very depressed numerous times.  Thank Celestia it’s my last year!

I work at Costco and it leaves me nothing but anguish just like all the other things. But gonna have to make the money and deal with it. I just feel like I should be doing other better things with my life every time I set my foot in there to work.

I work in a warehouse. I should have a consistent schedule, but working overtime, plus 6 days a week is expected and frequent. I’ve lost weight, but the physical work is taxing, not to mention the bullshit transition between Friday to Saturday, which make me leave at 1:30 am, and return at 11 am, or 10 am if specially unlucky. Thank god I’m about to change shift, and later position, and the pay has been stupidly good for this kind of work from the start. Hell, I wouldn’t have complained if I got paid the same at this point, but no, my salary increased for about 20% at my first half a year

I am working now on a plan on how to start my cafe business. I bought a cafe and I want to change its design and have many other things to deal with. That's why I need some help. Recently, I was recommended to ask accounting specialists on this site for help as I needed a qualified help to cope with document proceedings which should be done accurately. I think it's a good idea to try it if you also don't have enough time for it or just are not sure about something. Good luck.

Before the pandemic, I used to work at Culver's and mainly just kept the place clean and everything stocked up. Now, though, since the dining room is closed, I'm a part-time package handler at FedEx Ground. While it is exhausting and sometimes painful, it does pay more than Culver's and I get paid every week instead of every two weeks.

I work in a factory, which makes solinoids, valves, lvdt's and so on that goes in trucks, trains, planes, spaceships and other vehicles, 

I deburr parts, which means I take any of the extra metal that has been left on a cut part and zip it off. This is not always an easy feat and it can be super super annoying to the point that I want to quit some days.

I work from 5am- 3:30 pm 10 hours of grueling work D: but I do get fridays off!! <3 so I have a three day weekend instead of a two. I do tend to get super tired during the week when I am working, though I try to do other things. I'm usually drained though.

I got a seasonal job at Target and I really like it so far! It’s just great to be out of the house and around people instead of staring at a screen all day, and all my coworkers seem really nice. It’s about 15-20 hours per week since I’m still in school and also have an (unpaid :/ ) internship. 

It does get tiring since I’m not used to standing on my feet so much though.

I work manufacturing for a company. Run a machine. I was 4 10 hour days but I’ll be back to 5 8 hour days. I’m second shift now, no longer on 3rd shift.

 

Its trash and the people are trash but it pays decent and benefits.

I got fired a month and a half ago so, technically, I have no hours. However, I start a new gig on Monday and it'll be 8 to 5, which I am very much not thrilled about. I hope I get the closing shift once I get out of training.
