How open are you about ponies?

I talk to people about the show if I think they might be interested in becoming a brony, but I keep my growing collection of pony gear under the hat as much as possible (literally, I have a straw hat filled with ponies).

I would love to be able to tell everyone about the show and do nothing but talk about it all of the time, but I have some family members that would probably have their brains melt if they found out that I was a brony.

They are older and don't know anything about the Internet and they know nothing about Friendship is Magic, so they would just be completely shocked that I watched the show. I don't think that they would give me any grief about it at all, but I would rather spare them from being completely startled.

Last year for my 22nd birthday I had a MLP-themed party, and despite that I kinda want to do it again. Needless to say my entire family pretty much humors me and have bought me a pony in some form or another at some point in time. I haven't told my friends, not because it's some deep secret but simply because it has no relevancy to what we talk about, but should it come up I really wouldn't care if they knew or not. As for the general public? I'm unsure. Out and about shopping and whatnot I'm fine wearing a piece of pony jewelry or whatnot, but around school or more professional areas, well, I generally dress in Lolita (the fashion, not the fetish) which can be attention-grabbing as it is, so I don't really know how open I'd be about it then. I don't think I'd ever deny my love for ponies because I don't see them as something to be ashamed of, but I'm not the type of person to go around boasting about my interests either.

I'm not overly open, so when they ask, I just answer. I always blurt out whatever pony comes to mind, to my friends who know, though. They facepalm everytime.

Was having a night-long Pony-thon with a friend in a Synchtube room Saturday and had my dad randomly wake up and walk by. He stood at the door way and watched the episode we were on for a few minutes. He then chuckled and walked into the kitchen. I knew he wouldn't have a problem with it

Hung out with my cousin, her husband and a mutual friend of all of ours Sunday. They're zippo collectors, so I always show new ones off to them. Rainbow Dash included. I handed it to my cousin and she looked at me funny and turned to her husband and said: "Honey, my 21 year old MALE cousin has a my little pony lighter" I chuckled and my response was: "I'm 22, thank you, and hell yeah I do."

Ponies got dropped until our friend stopped by later that night. He borrowed my lighter and said, "Why in the hell do you have a My Little Pony lighter?" I grinned and replied, "How do you know it's a pony lighter?" He was speechless. I then got dared to wear one of my pony shirts out there when they came in like I would be ashamed to. My cousin asked me if it was gonna be Pinkie Pie. Nope, Fluttershy.

Crackle is best dragon - Rarity is best Marshmallow

Scootaloo is best chicken - Sweetie Belle is best Dictionary

Fluttershy is best tree - Twilight is best Minigun

Rainbow Dash is best turnip bucket - Spike is best Rainbow Dash

All ponies are best pony.

Especially Fluttershy.

Want. So much want. Damn you. ^_^ I met another brony today, was shocked and amazed, didn't think I'd find one. He had an MLP belt with the Mane Six on it, said he got it from Hot Topic. Guess I have to head to the mall soon.

All my friends and family know I love cartoons, so they don't care. Some of my friends like MLP too.

If it's someone I don't know very well they usually think I'm a weirdo anyway because I'm so awkward. So if ponies come up it won't really make a difference how they view me, haha.

I'm quite open about my love for the show. Maybe a bit too much, given the amount I talk about it. It paid off though; I got a free Fluttershy toy from one of the staff at the school.

Im open about the show in some ways. I post ponies on my facebook page. Even though most of my freinds are haters. I still post no matter how many hate comments I get. Now that takes real brony pride.Sometimes at school i'll try to talk about my little pony but im just the quiet one at school

Nobody knows I watch the show...yet. I'm gonna tell my friends sooner or later.

I don't think people would treat me any different if they knew i was a brony. I think they would just laugh at me and maybe ask why I watch a show for "little girls". If someone asks, I'll tell them that I like the show, but im not going around announcing it to everyone.

I'm fairly open about being a brony. I don't run into a room and shout it out, but if the topic comes up I won't hesitate to join in. There really aren't that many that I know of in my school, but I met a ton at a convention and plenty more online.

The last time I told my friends (on another forums) about MLP, I ended up getting bad comments and ended up being made fun at. So far, I only told my parents that I watch MLP, seeing as how most of my friends would either degrade me or they would say that they have never heard MLP: FiM before.

My profile picture for Facebook is RD, so if that counts, I guess so. I like Superpony Beat, so some of my friends are listening to that now, they don't know that it's based off a show. I need a t-shirt, though. Since I'm a freshman in high school, I have a a lot of haters. My best friend called it quits on me because of it, but I didn't like him anyway, he hit me a lot. Also he's at my bus stop, so it's kind of awkward.

Most of my friends are indifferent about it, we have a group at school called the: Brony/Pegasister Fan Group, that I've been wanting to join, but can't, because of golf season. My computer and iPod have been ponified, so if anyone sees them, they would know.

If someone brought the topic up in a conversation, I would get a little shy, but slowly be more assertive about it.

TL;DR: I'm 'medium' open about it, I won't bring it up. In a conversation.
