I have no idea why this means something to me, but it does:

(....forever)

Sometimes you're better off dead
There's gun in your hand and it's pointing at your head
You think you're mad, too unstable
Kicking in chairs and knocking down tables
In a restaurant in a West End town
Call the police, there's a madman around
Running down underground to a dive bar
In a West End town

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
West End girls

Too many shadows, whispering voices
Faces on posters, too many choices
If, when, why, what?
How much have you got?
Have you got it, do you get it, if so, how often?
And which do you choose, a hard or soft option?
(How much do you need?)

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
West End girls
West End girls

(How much do you need?)

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
Oooh West End town, a dead end world
East End boys, West End Girls
West End girls

You've got a heart of glass or a heart of stone
Just you wait 'til I get you home
We've got no future, we've got no past
Here today, built to last
In every city, in every nation
From Lake Geneva to the Finland station
(How far have you been?)

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
A West End town, a dead end world
East End Boys, West End girls
West End girls

West End girls

West End girls
(How far have you been?)

Girls
East End boys
And West End girls
And West End girls
(... forever)
And West End girls
(How far have you been?)

East End boys
The West End girls
The West End boys
And West End girls

The West End girls
The West End boys
The West End girls

Not Afraid by Eminem is my favorite song, and the lyrics mean a lot to me. Though I'm probably not allowed to post them here. ^_^

Another song I love with great lyrics is Demons by Imagine Dragons.

Talk about lyrics that mean a lot to you and or inspired you.

This song, Rivendell. Is hated among Rush fans, but it inspired me to make one of my OC's. Plus, I just love it.

This song is just amazing:

In the face
Of change
That's when she turned to me and said
"I'm not sure anymore"

And there
Amidst the waves and the cloudless skies
That blanket the year before
I watch my life wash ashore

Have you ever been a part of something
That you thought would never end?
And then, of course it did
Have you ever felt the weight inside you
Pulling away inside your skin?
And then something had to give

Now the lines are drawn
Is this feeling gone?
The best parts of this have come and gone
And now that is all this is
With the reasons clear
We'll spend another year
Without direction, full of fear
And now things will be different

There's nothing simple when it comes to you and I
Always something in this everchanging life
And there probably always will
Now that time is getting harder to come by,
The same arguments are always on our mind
{We've} killed this slowly fading light

Now the lines are drawn
Is this feeling gone?
The best parts of this have come and gone
And now that is all this is
With the reasons clear
We'll spend another year
Without direction, full of fear
But now things will be different

And now something
Has kept me here too long
And you can't leave me
If I'm already gone

Well now something (hey)
Has kept me here too long
And you can't leave me (hey)
If I'm already gone

Now let's say that something (hey)
Has kept me here too long
And you can't leave me (hey)
If I'm already gone

And we make the same mistakes
We're always hanging on
Break the promises we're always leaning on
All this time spent waking up
{Now I} keep this line open to get this call from you
{As you} speak the words that keep me coming back to you
Now this time it's all different

Now something
Has kept me here too long
And now I'm gone

"There's always another rainbow...search until you find it

Don't look at the cloud, look behind it There's a rainbow there somewhere

There's always a ray of sunshine though it all seems tragic

You may turn around and like magic

There's an answer to your prayer

Now you feel forlorn, but hope can be reborn

Try and lose that frown...look up, not down!

And you'll find another rainbow...I can guarantee it

Even though you think you've reached the rainbow's end

There's always another rainbow... Always another rainbow 'round the bend"

From the lyrical stylist, my man SEAN PAUL,

Make I see the gal them bruk out pon the floor from you don't want no worthless performer
From you don't want no man way can't turn you on gal make I see your hand them up on ya..
Can't tan pon it long naw eat no yam no steam fish nor no green banana
But down in Jamaica we give it to you hot like a sauna.

...Just kidding.

Some of my favorite lyrics are from Linkin Park. While I can list many examples, here's one from "Iridescent",

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

And from "Somewhere I Belong",

I wanna heal, I wanna feel, what I thought was never real
I wanna let go of the pain I’ve felt so long
(Erase all the pain till it’s gone)
I wanna heal, I wanna feel, like I’m close to something real
I wanna find something I’ve wanted all along
Somewhere I belong

"I tried to tell the kids, like fuck it, start being yourself
These fucking rappers got stylist, it's cause they can't think for themselves
See, they don't have an identity, so they needed some help, but
Really, boy? Posers looking silly boy
I'm in that past season 'Preme shit, older than Tity Boi
Not a diss, but same with ice cream, my shit is (Diddy Riese)
Na'kel Smith. Transworld page 64
Poppin' like oil, ollies, and fire flames
I'm harder than DJ Khaled playing the fucking quiet game
The fuck am I saying? Tyler's not even a violent name
I'm 'bout as threatening as stained windbreakers in hurricanes
But he rapes women, and spit wrong, like he hate dentists
God damn menace, 666 and he's not finished
And my shit's missing, he hates women, but loves kittens
See y'all niggas trippin' man
Look at that article that says my subject matter is wrong
Saying I hate gays even though Frank is on 10 of my songs
Look at that Mom who thinks I'm evil, hold that grudge against me
Though I'm the reason that her motherfucking son got to eat
Look at the kid who had the 9 and tried to blow out his mind
But talk is money, I said, "Hi," I guess I bought him some time
Look at the ones in the crowd. That shit is barnacles, huh?
They thought I wasn't fair until I threw a carnival, huh?
But then again, I'm an athiest that just worships Satan,
And it's probably why I'm not getting no fucking album placements
And MTV could suck my dick, and I ain't fuckin' playing
Bruh, they never played it, I just won shit for their fucking ratings
"Analog" fans are getting sick of the rape
All the "Tron Cat" fans are getting sick of the lakes
But what about me, bitch? I'm getting sick of complaints
But I don't hate it when I'm taking daily trips to the bank
Over and over, shit, who gives a fuck what I think?
My fans don't think turning on me, shit, they're almost extinct
Fuck buying studio time. I'mma go purchase a shrink
Record the session and send all you motherfuckers a link, bitch"

The snake who'd held the world,

A stick, a carrot, and a string was crushed

Beneath the foot of Your not wanting

Anything

For me, as a Christian, this really hits home to me that Jesus was a man, that His path wasn't always easy for Him to walk. Especially the last verse.

I know you'll be scared

When you take up that cross

And I know it'll hurt

'Cause I know what it costs

And I love you so much

And it's so hard to watch

But you're gonna grow up

And you're gonna get lost

Just go back

I can't listen to this one without tearing up. It just makes me think about how deeply my dad loves me, and then in turn how he must feel when he hears the song and thinks about how deeply his dad loved him. Just gets me all gooey and emotional.

"Somewhere Only We Know"

Keane

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Oh simple thing where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Beautiful Times by Owl City. It came out during a critical point in my life where I could really relate to them.

A spark soaring down through the pouring rain
And restoring life to the lighthouse
A slow motion wave on the ocean
Stirs my emotion up like a rain cloud

When did the sky turn black?
And when will the light come back?

A cab driver turned to skydiver
Then to survivor,
Dying to breakdown
A blood brother, surrogate mother,
Hugging each other, crying their eyes out

When did the sky turn black?
And when will the light come back?

I'm ecstatic like a drug addict
Locked in the attic
Strung out and spellbound

I fought all through the night
Oh, oh, but I made it alive
The sun's starting to rise
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times
This fight of my life is so hard, so hard, so hard
But I'm gonna survive
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times

A bad feeling burned through the ceiling
Leaving my healing heart with a new scar
A dead fire rose and rose higher
Like a vampire, up from the graveyard

When did the sky turn black?
And when will the light come back?

We all suffer but we recover
Just to discover life where we all are

I fought all through the night
Oh, oh, but I made it alive
The sun's starting to rise
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times
This fight of my life is so hard, so hard, so hard
But I'm gonna survive
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times

This fight of my life is so hard, so hard, so hard
But I'm gonna survive
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times

My heart's burning bad
And it's turning black
But I'm learning how to be stronger
And sincerely, I love you dearly

Oh, but I'm clearly destined to wander

Music is about the only thing that'll make me tear up and this song gets me everytime.

Street Spirit (Fade Out) - Radiohead.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me

I can feel their blue hands touching me

All these things into position

All these things we’ll one day swallow whole

And fade out again and fade out

This machine will not communicate

These thoughts and the strain I am under

Be a world child, form a circle

Before we all go under

And fade out again and fade out again

Cracked eggs, dead birds

Scream as they fight for life

I can feel death, can see it’s beady eyes

All these things into position

All these things we’ll one day swallow whole

And fade out again and fade out again

Immerse your soul in love

Immerse your soul in love.

They aren't meaningful to many people but this thread clearly ask for what is meaningful to you. So here are meaningful lyrics to me:

" I am the one that's keeping you alive
Because y'know. It's bloody hard to survive"

Basically to me it describes my basic fun of mentally locking the people I hate from my past, putting them in factories, and doing very horrid stuff to them.

Yeah not a happy camper here :/

Lyrics:
Hey you
Look what you do to me
You bend and you bruise me
While you try to control me
But you don't own me

How come you just wanna hurt me?
How come you just wanna push me?
I can't ignore you anymore
Cuz everywhere I turn you
You burn me, you break me
You always wanna take me
Down with you
What do you want from me?

I don't wanna be afraid
I don't wanna run away
I don't wanna be here fading
It's more than I can take
I'm never gonna be the same
I threw it all away
I don't wanna be here fading
Just let go! (look what you do to me)
Let go! (look what you do to me)

Hey you
Look what you do to me
You hurt and you scar me
With all that you tell me (But I'm not listening)
You love me, you hate me
You always wanna take me
Down with you
What do you want from me?

(I won't stay)
I don't wanna be afraid
I don't wanna run away
I don't wanna be here fading,
It's more than I can take
I'm never gonna be the same
I threw it all away
I don't wanna be here fading
Just let

You keep pushing me
You keep using me
You keep twisting me
You keep breaking me
You can't have me anymore
You can't have me anymore
You can't have me anymore
You can't have me
Let go!

I don't wanna be afraid
I don't wanna run away
I don't wanna be here fading
It's more than I can take

I don't wanna be afraid
I don't wanna run away
I don't wanna be here fading
It's more than I can take
I'm never gonna be the same
I threw it all away
I don't wanna be here fading
Just let go!
Let go!
Just let go!
(I don't wanna be afraid)
Let go!
(I don't wanna run away)
Just let go!
Let go!
Let go!

Mother watch your children
The iron fist of fear is ruling our lives
It's not too late to change the course
We can make this world a better place to be in
How much more do we want until we're satisfied?
What happens when we have what we want?
Acquiring more , still there's never enough
We forget those who really are in need
The end is near, or so they say
Selling peace with guns
Infinity - Where do we go from here?
Infinity - Where do we go from here?
Infinity - Where do we go?
Infinity - Where do we go from here?
Guns spitting (out the) message of peace everywhere
Is it really that we don't care?
See mercenaries of fear selling love
Telling salvation comes from above
Arrogance and fear walking hand in hand
We must see that there's much more to life than this
Mother see your children
Make us understand and help us to find the way
The answers lie inside
They are locked inside to the vault of truth for us It's time
to spread the word around
Be yourself and do what you want to do with your life
Remember, you get just what you give
You reap all what you sow
You are in charge of your own life
Infinity...
You make your own way As long as you are here
Find your place in life
Make your dreams come true
There's so much more than this
A million ways to live
Unlock the door
To the universe with love
Free your soul

In these demon days, it's so cold inside
You don't get nobody, people sigh
It's so bad, lasting far, but love yourself
Hiding in a hole in there
All the glasses are too big
Bring it back, got to hold it back
To let you do that yet you don't want me back
Before it fall down, falling down falling down
Falling out to go far from the sun

In these demon days it's so cold inside
So hard for a good soul to survive
You can't even trust the air you breathe
Cause Mother Earth wants us all to leave
When lies become reality
You numb yourself with drugs and TV
Pick yourself up it's a brand new day
So turn yourself round
Don't burn yourself, turn yourself
Turn yourself around into the sun!

In these demon days it's so cold inside
So hard for a good soul to survive
You can't even trust the air you breathe
Cause Mother Earth wants us all to leave
When lies become reality
You numb yourself with drugs and TV
Pick yourself up it's a brand new day
So turn yourself round
Don't burn yourself, turn yourself
Turn yourself around into the sun!

To the sun, to the sun...
To the sun, to the sun...

"What are you trying to accomplish, putting yourselves in danger like that? Trying to see "justice" done? Is that really justice, though? Aren't you just doing this because you want a little spice in your boring lives? What's the difference between that and a criminal who gets his kicks by murdering people? You see what I'm getting at? There's still a lot of time left. Give it some thought."

In Christ Alone.

Honestly, one of the songs that makes me tear up as it touches my soul as a Christian: especially the last lyrics:

No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

Michael Jackson songs like "They Don't Care About Us" and "Earth Song". Only people who care about this world and realizes what really matters will understand where he's coming from:

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Lots of good stuff from these few lines:

Count your blessings if you're loved

And you love somebody, too

There's no treasure in the world worth more than that

Count your silver and your gold

If it's more than you can hold

Give it back

Give it back

Give it back

Cast your line out from the shore

Let it settle in the tide

It's a patient man

Who brings home the catch

And if they swim around your feet

And it's more than you can eat

Throw 'em back

Throw 'em back

Throw 'em back

-Roosevelt Dime, Temperance

And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away

-John Denver, Paradise

This entire song is full of meaning, so I'm putting it in a spoiler:

He was born in the summer of his 27th year, coming home to a place he'd never been before.
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again,
you might say he found a key for every door.
When he first came to the mountains, his life was far away on the road and hanging by a song.
But the strings already broken and he doesn't really care,
it keeps changing fast, and it don't last for long.

And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
The shadows from the starlight are softer than a lullaby.
Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high, Colorado.

He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below,
he saw everything as far as you can see.
And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun,
and he lost a friend, but kept the memory.
Now he walks in quiet solitude, the forest and the streams, seeking grace in every step he takes.
His sight is turned inside himself, to try and understand
the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake.

And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply.
Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high, Colorado.

Now his life is full of wonder, but his heart still knows some fear,
of a simple thing he can not comprehend.
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more,
more people, more scars upon the land.

And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
I know he'd be a poor man if he never saw an eagle fly,
Rocky Mountain high, the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high, Colorado.
Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high, Colorado.

-John Denver, Rocky Mountain High

Heck, I'm including a video:

And another entire song:

Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb?
Mother, do you think they'll like this song?
Mother, do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Ooooh aah, mother, should I build a wall?

Mother, should I run for president?
Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time?

Hush now, baby, baby, don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all of your nightmares come true
Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here under her wing
She won't let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama's gonna keep baby cozy and warm

Ooooh, baby, ooooh, baby, ooooh, baby
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall

Mother, do you think she's good enough for me?
Mother, do you think she's dangerous to me?
Mother, will she tear your little boy apart?
Oooh aah, mother, will she break my heart?

Hush now, baby, baby, don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up till you get in
Mama will always find out where you've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean

Ooooh, baby, ooooh, baby, ooooh, baby
You'll always be a baby to me

Mother, did it need to be so high?

-Pink Floyd, Mother

"And I said you shouldn't make facts out of opinions

He said that I was right
You're right, I knew that I was
And I'd hate to see anybody fail
But I'd like to see you fail seeing me fail, though
I'm not sure who I am
I'm not sure who I am but I know who I've been
And I said you can't make everybody happy
He said you'd like to at least make yourself happy, though
I'm not sure who I am
I'm not sure who I am but I know who I've been"

"Was there a need for creation?

That was hidden in a math equation
And that's this:
WHERE DO CIRCLES BEGIN?"

"Everyone's afraid of their own lives

If you could be anything you want
I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?"

"Well all the apostles, they're sitting in swings

Saying, "I'd sell off my savior for a set of new rings
And some sandles with the style of straps that cling best to the era"

And all of the businessers in their unlimited hell
Where they buy and they sell and they sell all their
Trash to each other but they're sick of it all
And they're bankrupt on selling

And all of the angels
They'd sell off your soul for a set of new wings
And anything gold they remember
The people they loved their old friends

And I've seen through'em all, seen through'em all
Seen through most everything
All the people you knew were the actors
All the people you knew were the actors

Well, I'll go to college and all learn some big words
And I'll talk real loud goddamn right I'll be heard
You'll remember that guys said all those big words
He must've learned in college

Well it took a long time, I came clean with myself
I come clean out of love with my lover
I still love her
Loved her more when she used to be sober and I was kinder"

I love you Modest Mouse...
