What if a male character turned it into the Mane 7?

I think that would just clutter up the plot a bit too much.

6 mane characters feels like just enough, no more, no less. If anything, maybe he(and the other ponies in that picture?) could be featured in an episode centering around them. That would be more than enough fuel for the shipping fire, imo.

I don't want them to add ANY characters to the main cast, regardless of gender. Why would we need more than the mane six, Spike, and the CMC? It's fine as it is.

Emerald ray is the male green pony with a fireball qt mark. The first time he was seen, there were rumors saying he is ponified Spike. The gem name, the color scheme and the qt mark kind of hints at it. Of course its just a rumor but Spike also got a "crystal form" when he was exposed to the energy of the Crystal Heart.

I don't know if we need a male mane 6. But perhaps have a couple of episodes involving the dynamic between Applejack and Big Mac? he's already a semi established male character, and it would allow AJ to have some decent screen time too.

I wouldn't mind if they had a male pony join the Mane 6 for one episode, but I don't want them to change the permanent main six lineup and shove in another main character. I feel like the characters are too developed to just throw in another character, it would throw that balance off. The way I look at it there are already enough characters to write stories about with the Mane 6, The Cutie Mark Crusaders, and The Princesses.

I think it would be cool if they were to add a new male character but not to the mane six.

If they were to do that I would probably try watching a few episodes but I think it would be a rather bad idea.

Ooh, that gives me an idea! What if this happened:

The mane six are doing something... Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo... Stallion approaches, and becomes fast friends with the mane six. Then, they arrange separate days to each get to know him on their own. Rainbow Dash is first. RD finds out that Stallion is really fast and competitive, much like her, and slowly falls in love with him. Next day, Stallion visits Twilight, and they spend the day studying, reading, talking about stuff, and Twi soon finds herself falling in love too. Pinkie's next, and the parties that they attend and arrange all day become a fun pastime for both ponies, and Pinkie is soon in love as well. Fluttershy falls in love with Stallion when she invites him over to her cottage, and he fixes up a fallen bird's wing. Rarity is next, and his charisma eventually wins her over. Apple Jack spends a day bucking apples and making grape juice and is pretty flattered when he says how good the finished product is. Anyway, so the mane six meet in the library, and start fighting over him, when he's called back to, uh, wherever he came from, and they're all left with broken hearts.

Other than the painfully obvious shipfest, an extra male stallion amidst the Mane six will make things get weird real fast. What Element he is? Where the hell is he when Equestria needs the Elements of Harmony to destroy an ancient evil? How the hell can the EoH activates without him? Do the Elements really need him?
