I swear half the polls in this thread so far have made my jaw drop, no exception here. Randomness can be cruel!

Anyway, Twilight vs Pinkie huh... well I like them both a lot, I really do, but overall I'd say Twilight is a more interesting character, being the main of the mane 6, and having a bunch of epic moments, and her VA is a really cool lady, so Twilight it is. The thing I like most about Pinkie is her singing, but that's not enough to make me vote for her, sorry Pinkie.

Making us choose between Twilight and Pinkie is just cruel. They're both so good!!

But if I must, Pinkie. I identify more with Twilight as a character, but Pinkie is the pony I most want a hug from. So if I vote for her, maybe the astronomical odds of her one day coming out of the screen and hugging me are just a little bit better. You can understand my situation here.

And Twilight won by a landslide. Pinkie had no flow and mostly tried to make herself look good instead of knocking her opponent down. Pinkie's first lines were admittedly good, if delivered badly, but poor choice of ending for Pinkie's first verse, as it leaves her wide open for attack and was not even insulting. Twilight Sparkle started off strong with "take a letter" and hurt with "Little Miss Party of One". Pinkie's second verse has some good ones like "I'll break you like the fourth wall and that's a Pinkie Promise!", but otherwise stuck to inane patting self on back. What was "I'll be out in the chocolate rain" even supposed to do to Twilight Sparkle? Insult her about Discord?

 

In her last verse, Twilight refutes Pinkie's points. Pinkie insisted on her delcious cupcakes, but Twilight takes a strike against that. She insults Pinkie's past and her parties (not very well on that second one, but she tries), and ends by calling Pinkie herself a friendship problem. If she doesn't win this poll, she sure won this battle.

Plus Twilight didn't even beat an Ursa Major, and the one who made the baked bads was technically Applejack. Pinkie's second verse ended on a high note that Twilight's rebuttal couldn't quite erase for me. I thought that the party animal took home the gold.

Pinkie's cute and awesome and all, but as my best pony list dictates (Dashie > AJ > Twi > Pinkie > Fluttershy > Rarity) Twi is ahead of her. That's simply all there is to it for me :3

Pinkie Pie vs. Twilight Sparkle?

 

I'm gonna have to go with Twilight. I greatly admire her intelligence and rationality. Pinkie Pie is funny, but she's kind of annoying sometimes too :/

I'm sorry Pinkie, but I have to vote for Twilight.  This is actually quite a difficult decision.  What makes it for me is how far Twilight has come since episode 1 in both social life and magical abilities (and how far she still has yet to go).  While Pinkie has had character development here and there, it pales in comparison to Twilight's.

I thought the lyrics were about the same, but just as important is flow and overall quality of the rap.  Pinkie's flow was...well... bad. Twilight's was ok: A couple dubious rhymes and syllable count issues, but otherwise fine.  That turns the vote quite strongly in Twilight's favor.  Although this shouldn't be a surprise.  I read the description, and Twilight is voiced in that rap battle by Kira Buckland (AKA Rina-Chan AKA Meleeprincess), probably the second most famous and talented pegasister (she's the primary fan voice for Twilight, by the way, and does Twilight's VAing in PONY.MOV.  First pegasister, if you're wondering, is probably Jenny Nicholson).

 

BACK TO TOPIC:

 

I swear that random number generator is messed up.  First Trixie vs Dash, now Twily vs Pinkie?  I'm going to abstain from voting this time.  My opinion on which of the two I prefer will probably be decided by Twilight's actions in the Discord episode and the season finale.

 

Aw hell, I'll vote Pinkie.  Partially because she's losing.  Partially because I do not respect Twilight as an intellectual, scientist, or freethinker.

Now a few months ago and Pinkie would have had my vote in the bag. It's not that I don't like Pinkie as much, I just like Twilight so much more than I used to. Although Pinkie is still one of my favourite ponies, I love whenever she jumps into view because something funny is bound to happen, some of my favourite episodes are full of her silly little moments and-

Man you guys are horrible at persuasion :3. I was hoping someone would post a elaborate post about how X pony was better than Y pony but oh well guess ill have to make up my mind and vote now.

 

Anyway i voted for Twilight simply because i personally prefer her type of personality over Pinkie Pie. While Pinkie Pie does make me laugh from time to time and i do like her as a character. I can relate to Twilight (Of course because my personality test says im most like her!)

 

Both Ponies have  had their daww moments and Pinkie Pie has surprisingly grown on me since the first time i saw her what with the rock farm past and whenever she acts vulnerable like in Party of One and Baby Cakes. 

 

So sorry Pinkie Pie fans maybe next time we wont have a mane 6 vs mane 6 so early or at least Pinkie Pie vs Twilight as i think if she were up against er say Rarity she would've won.

They're both pretty much background ponies, and although Pound Cake has an episode where he's much more involved than Octavia has ever been... Well, I just plain don't like babies that much. Octavia has a lovely design too.

Okay, that's not entirely true. I would have voted for Fluttershy instead if she were up against Octavia, but other than that...

 

Alright, maybe that's not entirely true either.  It's possible that I'd vote a pony other than Fluttershy over Octavia.  It would have to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis though.
