My sister is crazy!

SongBrony

Recommended Posts

The new boy band 1D has gained momentum over the year. Now, I can't bash anyone who likes them or their music, but there's a line between liking, loving, obsession, and just downright crazy. For example, as a brony I fit in the loving/obsession (it changes based on what episode I just watched) My sister is past crazy, however. We are in church and she invited a fellow "Directioner" to come. The entire time, all I hear is "OMG Nike is soooo hot! OMG he's so sexy!" (I've wanted to shoot myself for typing that.) This is what I mean by crazy. I mean, I love MLP and RD, but I'm not all "OMG filly AJ is freakin adowable!" While she was, I'm not going full blown crazy over it.

Anyone else have crazy siblings like that who giggle and swoon over an Irish singer?

I'd say that half the women I've known are crazy. At least half. (No offense to the pegasisters.) But I suppose that doesn't help you here.

Odd as it may seem, your sister's swooning obsession over this band is not definitive proof of her insanity. It's more like a feminine rite of passage: when young, you must find something non-threatening, well-scrubbed and musical on which to project every fairy-tale fantasy your 12 to 16-year-old mind can conjure up. It's tradition. Our grandmothers had the Beatles, our mothers had New Kids On the Block or something like that, our older sisters had N-Sync and the Backstreet Boys. Now we have 1D, the Jonas Brothers and *sigh, giggle, faint* our beloved Justin.

No thank Celestia.

Anyway everyone one has their own obessesions.

The same way how bronies may think directioners are crazy for liking 5 guys, directioners might think bronies are crazy for liking a cartoon meant pre-pubescent girls.

It's just a persons opinion.

Either way any obsession is annoying as one directioners will not shut up about 1D and some bronies just scare me.....

My sister was into them for a while. She got the One Direction Almanac or something like that, she got a giant poster of them (in which I drew a Hitler mustache one one of them and she got mad). After a while though she did seem to die out of them but I wish the same could be said for all of my Facebook  who absolutely obsess over them

Congratulations on making it out of that alive. A lesser man would have pulled the trigger.

I don't personally know what it's like putting up with someone who is crazy about One Direction, but i do dislike how crazy fangirls can get about male teen pop stars, like trampling over each other to get as close to them as possible. When ever i here one of there songs it almost sickens me how much of an effort they've gone through to make the lyrics really sensual to try and suck every last teen girl into their web of auto-tuned songs.

Am i rambling? I'm sorry, i just don't get it. The most pre-ordered album in the world was it? The power of young girls amazes me yet again.

Well, fandom for a boy band has to be at least partly sexual, so all the oohing and ahhing is subliminal for other messages they might be saying, but won't. Whereas for most bronies, MLP FiM fandom has nothing sexual about it, so lacks that subliminal element

Actually I do know someone like that, the girl I'm in my group with is obsessed with 1 direction.  Everyone will have their own obbsessions though, and sometimes one has to say, "so what?"

Just another normal decade of music, I think you guys are forgetting N*Sync, The Backstreet Boys, The New Kids on the Block, ect. This has been a thing since waaaay back. Shoot, look back at old recordings of Elvis concerts, he had the same kind of fan-girls.

I get that people like them, but gees you have to swoon and look at their pics while in church? I mean come on, I love Rainbow Dash but I'm not going crazy over it at church and non stop talk about it.

Nooooo. It's not a rite of passage, silly. It's what determines which group you fit into: nerd, outcast, in-between, or popular! :3 I fit into the nerd category ^-^ I hate Justin and 1D and the Jonas Brothers (who are soooo 5 years ago, by the way).

I can't stand one direction. My sister constantly puts it on full blast and I can hear her stupid music with both my door and her door closed while wearing headphones. I tell her time after time to turn her music down, to which she only replies with "NO THEY'RE HOT", to which I SHOULD reply with "So good looks must mean good music quality? You could find a band that produces better stuff than 1 direction but the lead singer has a serious skin condition, you'd say you don't like them."

Lol, I'd try that on my sister's Justin Bieber calendar, but knowing my parents, my sister's not the only one who'll be mad.

Nice avatar, by that way. Hot space is a good album.

I'm an only child. However I have 9 cousins that are girls, but none of them are obsessed with 1D. At least, they never talk about it. I actually haven't heard much about 1D lately, but I'm honestly not complaining.

I am obsessed with him too, obsessing with having that crook and his bankster puppet masters thrown in prison and the Federal Reserve cartel broken up and scattered into the dustbin of history.

On a slightly more on topic point though no I don't have any family members I am aware of that have that kind of obsession. Without a doubt boy bands have some crazy subliminal messaging in them, there was an episode of South Park that really hit the nail on the head it is called The Ring. While I am not shy or prudish on the subject of sex it does seem a bit creepy that these kind of messages are being put into music geared toward young girls.

I just like the way it looks. My favorite Queen album is probably Innuendo or The Miracle. But ya There is this one girl on Instagram who changed her last name to styles and just spams One Erection photos

Caring about what group you fit into IS a rite of passage. ;) Understand one day, you will.

I was pretty much an outside observer the whole time, going from country (childhood) to soft rock (early teens) to hard rock (late teens) to 80s pop and extreme metal (20s), so I had a good view.

Yeah, I liked innuendo too.

OT: That sounds like the kind of thing my sister would do on the Internet. She's a bit of a wacko and can't even go out in public without shouting something one direction related. I mean, their music is catchy AT BEST, they're no reason to justify make a fool of yourself in public.

I am not a fan of today's sound so it all sounds like an auto-tuned version of Air Supply only with five people. I really hate how people compare them to the Beatles.... They both aren't even in the same genre of music!

I'm a girl but my "rite of passage" never happened. I'M ABNORMAL!

Actually, no, it happened, but it was with Billie Holiday, whom I still adore to this day. I had this odd obsession with her.

I personally dislike their music and them as people. They, like many other bands, materialize women, and they seem very snobby. Being "hot" (which none of them are) and being talented are two different things.

Dude ur not the only one here

My sis is crazier!!!!

SHE HANGS UP KOREAN BOYBAND PICS ON HER WALL AND SCREAMS SO LOUD AND HIGH PITCHED OVER IT AND OVER ANIME.

Believe it or not one of her screams were so loud last saturday my neighbors actually yelled shut up, and even my parents call her crazy.

My sis is worse than a one directioner. Not to mention I sometimes scream stuff like "NO!!!! AJ!!! C'MON SPIKE SHE AIN'T LIEING HELP HER!" while watching mlp eps like the latest one so I shouldn't be ranting about my sis xD

One of my cousin's is a directioner. She's always talking about them, and it annoys the hell out of her brother, which is priceless. I don't mind as long as she doesn't play their music around me.

She sounds like my best friend XD. She is in love with K-pop and k-dramas. There's a Korean actor named Lee Min Ho that she has to swoon over practically everyday. Then again, I have my moments where I'm giddy over pony stuff, so we deal with each other.  Ah, the magic of friendship~

That's my sis, obsessed with K-Pop, Korean Dramas, Anime, and Korean boybands.

I'm just obsessed with mlp, dubstep, and half life game series a little.

So I'm not as "crazy" as my sis ;P

PS: She saw me having a "fanboy" moment over mlp, she told me its just a tv show. Here was me in my mind "WHAT?!!!!" we usually have arguments about like whats better, dubstep or k-pop, mlp or Korean dramas, rap or k-pop, etc., I guess we will never get along as bro and sis ;)

It does not surprise me...

There is always going to be a "fill in" for these types of artists. Look at the jonas brothers, where are they now??

Justin beiber will not be popular in the coming years. Girls get giddy over *pop* stars whomever they may be.

It is kinda funny though xD
