Hello all. I just finished watching a very interesting video on YouTube. A video that made me think, and may I add, made me proud to be a part of this amazing fandom. I recommend it to all of you whole heartily. I know many of you won't bother as IS an hour long but if you have the time, watch.

 

This is perhaps one of the most educated, tolerant, and unbiased documentary on the brony fandom I've ever come across. If you've already seen it, that's great! But it was that good that I felt it deserved a thread on this website.

Ah yes, this video. Kinda old now, but I watched it a few weeks after it was made, then 2 more times. :3 I think it's popular because of the fact it was featured on RhettAndLink's show. Sabersparks is awesome.

Ah I remembered when I watched this one evening after I became a brony... And then right after I watched it I watched the improved version of it. Made me realize just what the bronies went though and gave me a nice history lesson on MLP. Sapersparks is amazing for creating this.

Ah, well. An oldie but a goodie! Yes, a very inspiring video indeed, and one of the most thoroughly researched brony projects out there. Kind of makes one stand back and marvel at the magnitude of the fandom, even when the events of the world make it seem like nothing. Heck, there are so many bronies from all over the globe talking about current events, trending media, and gossip, this fandom practically offers news coverage of the events of the world!

I watched this video during the first week of my 'acceptance' period, which was a point in time where I had no idea what I was doing, but it involved using all of my free time to look up pony videos on Youtube.  I did not consider myself a brony, but sort of knew that it was going to happen.  This video helped to break me out of that period.  I still consider it one of the greatest brony-based videos I've ever seen.

Interesting and informative video! The problem is, it's TOO long. He probably could have summed up all the important stuff in half that time. Another issue is his narration. We've all seen those mini-docs on YT where the speaker, bless him, can not narrate to save his life. SaberSpark is a little better than most, but he slurs his words a bit. It's kind of distracting and hard to follow him at some parts.

 

This same guy did a much better job on a newer video that another member showed me. It was about how to deal with haters, and I thought it was very funny and relevant. My favorite part was when he mentioned that he used to be a furry-hater, but once he became a brony he realized what it was like for them to be a widely stereotyped group, and that there was no point to bashing them.

I don't really like Saberspark. Always one of those who denies anything prior to G4.

It's very long so I don't think I'll watch it. I hope it highlights both the risks and rewards of being in the fandom, but it's most likely heavily biased in one direction or the other.
