Too tight, Rarity, too tight!

My admission; when I first started watching the show, Rarity was a pony I did not care much for.  But over time, I have started to warm up to her.

 

If I met her IRL prior, I would have rolled my eyes and thought 'oh no, not the overdramatic one.'  But now I would welcome her if we did meet.

 

Contrarily, I first saw her in Turnabout Storm; her reactions to Phoenix made me go, 'Huh. This lady's something special.'

Since I guess we're doing first impressions, I'll just throw mine in here

 

I remember the first time I saw her was in Equestria Girls, and even though her first line, immediately asking about Twilight's crown and then declaring she'd sleep in it made me think Rares was the one Twilight beat out to become Princess and a bit of a foil to Twilight  

 

Even still, I melted into a puddle of overzealous fan boy the first time I saw her, and the more and more I watched her in the movie as well as the series, I began to see that I was like her in ways, and she went from being my best pony to a very important part of my life as well as a source of inspiration

When I first started to watch FIM I absolutely hated Rarity, and everything she stood for! But then I found out my daughters best pony was Rarity I gave her another chance and now I love her! Now it's time for my first impression.
 
When I started watching MLP, I didn't really care for Rarity. I didn't hate her, she was just "meh" to me. It wasn't until I saw "A Dog and a Pony Show" made me fully appreciate Rarity, especially her epic whining.

Something has occurred to me. I am no longer dead set against Simple Ways, although I still do not care for it.

 

My reason was I disliked how Rarity jealously tried to steal Trend from AJ. Naturally this would be inconsistent with the Rarity from Green.

But it occurs to me that her behavior seemed to suggest she knew AJ did not care for Trend, at least until she incorrectly thought AJ was stealing Trend away from her about 60% of the way through.

 

 

She was there when AJ tried to distance herself from Trend. It's never brought up by anyone that she could potentially be coming in between Trend and AJ, and she is not surprised as the end when AJ wants Trend gone.

It's something relatively new - first year. It's going to be an elimination type-tourney between ponies from the show It's been in the works since late last year, and it begins in a couple of weeks

You are right, i cannot know. But im pessimistic and always expect the worst.

 

And why would that not happen to Rarity? Maybe its just too cemented into my head that there are never good things that happen to her, it's the reason i still doubt the success for her that was season four.

If i already expect the worst i won't get disappointed.

We did not have the opportunity to interact much so far sadly, so i don't really know you personally, but despite that (and because of that) it's sad to see someone leave the communtity.

I appreciate the kind words, but instead of a fandom that has not mentioned the words "Rarity" and "whore" in the same sentence for months, i would rather have a fandom that has so much respect for each other that it never mentioned the words "Character X" and "whore" in a single sentence in the first place...
