I predict that Scootaloo will get her cutie mark in Flight to the Finish.

 

It feels like the right time.  Scoots has to prove she has what it takes to Mrs. Harshwinny, and I don't think her learning to fly would be sending the right message.  "Hey, kids, remember that disabilities will prevent you from excelling!"  Also, Rainbow Dash will be involved, so that will be awesome.  It's just that, if it does happen, I want you all to know that I called it.

-Queen Chryssi and King Sombra team up, like Jafar and the Red Queen in Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, maybe even WITH the betrayal

I don't think this will be an episode with a disability message.

 

granted, we have yet to see Scootaloo actiually fly, but she's been seen able to hover a few time (especially in 'One Bad Apple' where she's been able to hover much longer than usual) and there's been no indication from any canon sources that Scootaloo won't ever be able to fly.

 

Heck, if you want to go there, the MLP trading cards of Scootaloo suggested that she may be able to fly eventually and may even join the Wonderbolts alongside Rainbow Dash in the future.

Spoiler warning if you haven't watched Flight to the Finish yet.

 

The Scootaloo cutie mark troll at the end of Flight to the Finish has given me a suspicion. I think the CMC are all going to get their cutie marks simultaneously during the flag ceremony at the games.

Even though it has been made obvious what the CMC's cutie marks are going to be, they have also shown that teamwork is a talent that they are all good at, and their bond has become quite strong through their crusading. Because of this, I feel that teamwork and friendship has to at least play a part in them getting their marks, if it isn't reflected in the marks themselves.

 

Scoots has not yet realized that her talent is scooter tricks, but she took a big step toward that realization by choosing to have faith in her part of the flag routine despite not being able to fly. I think there may be similar episodes for Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom leading up to the Equestria Games. Then during the flag ceremony, something will go horribly wrong and the Crusaders will have to improvise or step up their game a notch, resulting in them saving the day and all getting their marks at the same time. I don't know exactly what will happen, but to venture a guess:

I think you've hit the nail on the head.  I've suspected all along that the CMC's real talents are teamwork and building things.  But for the life of me I can't envision cutie marks that would adequately portray that.  The few images I've seen don't seem to reflect those attributes well though so I'm still scratching my head on this.

Expand on Rarity's creative side into another field in which she creates her own doll lineup based on the Mane 6.

 

Do what the comic did and have her business knowledge come into play. Rarity coming in to help save Applejack's farm.

 

Rarity is a connoisseur so that part could be expanded on to cover several fields. She is knowlegable about the locales and best spots of an area by reasearching them when the Mane 6 go to a new city/town.

-Another sapient species. Though the return of a previous one would be nice.

 

-More one-shot character returns would be nice. If Harshwhinney can come back, why not someone we really want to see again?

 

- A new mythical whatzit, and maybe the return of a previous one.

 

-More information about the Mane 6's past/families (and hope for as little retconning as possible). In particular, an episode about how the other 5 came to live in Ponyville & met sounds good

 

Also hopes for:

 

Cameos by Gen 1 characters (hey, I can dream, can't I?) (Firefly as Dash's mom FTMFW!)

 

Tirek (ditto! Though they might want to save him for later. He's Series Finale material!)  

 

Sea ponies (Cause, why not? ). Or any creatures from Gen 1 for that matter. It WOULD be interesting...

I'm hoping that they do a continual plot, even if they just reference previous episodes like they have so far. As for the actual episodes, I want to see more of the royalty and their history. I mean, We saw how the three tribes created Equestria, but that doesn't explain where the alicorns came from. I also think it is time we see at least one of the CMC get a cutie mark.

Yeah, to be fair, the latter is quite possible, I've seen alot of fan works where fans were shown able to imitate the voices of certain characters to near perfection.

 

And while I know the dev team apparently isn't allowed to read fanfiction, I heard some rumors that they plan on throwing in Nyx from Past Sins into canon, consider this;

 

1) we were promised a future appearance of Nightmare Moon (unless that flashback cameo was what they promised)

 

AND...

 

2) Castle-Maneia gave us an apparent 'Old Pony's Tale' about the Shadow Pony, which is said to have been born from Nightmare Moon's remains and it's hinted in the end that it might be true.

 

If there was a time gap between the time Past Sins was first brought to the internet and the time the dev team got the 'no reading fanfics' rule, it's quite possible they may have had planned this for quite a while.

 

I know it's quite a stretch and it's highly unlikely, but hey, we've surely seen them take weirder steps.

We have indeed.  I guess we can only just wait and see. 

 

We'll see the Crystal Empire at least once this season.  I wonder if they'll get her back for that episode, or 2 parter if it is 2 parts, or have Shining Armor around and say she's busy doing something, or have scenes with her not talking.
