It be interesting, and ironic, if we have Twilight learning to fly and Scootaloo learning she never will. Almost too sad to happen.

My only guess here is that this is the flashback that Twilight witnesses as she see's Luna turn into Nightmare Moon for the first time. She then witnesses Celestia herself confront her and she gets beat down somehow and Twilight mistakes this for reality when it's not. She probably thinks Celestia is hurt/dead and cries as implied by this screenshot.

 

That's just my two cents though. Also does anyone know how to hide things in a spoiler tag? I still don't know how to do that.

And yeah if you look at the scenery behind them; it looks like it's where the whole entire flashback took place and where the Elements of Harmony were in the second episode. The only thing though is that in the preview; Celestia didn't show up, but I think the clip ended before her appearance in the flashback.

This screenshot should be from Flight to the Finish. And dead had been shown in many other kids cartoons so I guess Princess Celestia is having a near dead experience after facing her sister.

That's actually a good theory. The coloring to me does look slightly off so maybe it's like a special effect for the flashback scene since most cartoons do that.

Beat me to it! Did anybody else notice Twilight mentioned that her friends didn't have to call her princess? I figured they would deal with that and I feel pretty sure the writers will deal with any princess friction pretty quickly.

I assumed apple jack was trolling twilight.

She was likely being cheeky.  Which if apple jack being cheeky is gonna get her some character diversity i'm all for it.

Why do I somehow get the impression from these screenshots that the Season 4 premiere plans on deconstructing the suddenness of Twilight's coronation?

 

Think about it, Celestia and Luna go missing, the kingdom suddenly is faced with a serious supernatural crisis, and Twilight ends up the only active political figure around to help keep order.

 

This would be a truly great way to put Twilight's leadership skills to the ultimate test; having to balance solving a crisis while assuring the citizenry that they can put their faith and trust in her. And by the end, she either succeeds, or becomes overwhelmed with the sudden large and complicated amount of responsibility that was suddenly brought upon her, and end up crashing and burning under the pressure.

 

Anyone else think that this might make a great way to start the season premiere?

Why does Nightmare Moon have fangs?! First Vinyl's eyes, then Twilight's wings, and now Nightmare Moon's teeth! The evils of Hasbro have gone on long enough!

 

Now, jokes of fan overreaction aside, NMM's fangs do seem kinda tacked on. I know she had them in Luna Eclipsed, but they seemed more like a little Nightmare Night embellishment. Not even Nightmare Rarity from the comics had them, as far as I can tell. I read that the creators were concerned about making NMM too scary for kids, hence her elegant and beautiful design, but grew more comfortable with making scarier villains like Discord, Queen Chrysalis, and King Sombra as time went on (in fact, Meghan McCarthy felt Sombra wasn't scary enough, and I hear her). But if this is their way of letting NMM join the fright factor ranks of newer villains...meh.

It seems that t those leaked images might really be legit after all. Hasbro changed the first episode title from Princess Twilight to Princess Twilight Sparkle just like the first screenshot says.

 

Not sure about the others but they're more than likely true.

You know, regardless of Celestia's actual fate in that picture, just seeing Twilight mourning like that, even after all the times we've seen her cry...there's just something about it that makes it a tad unnerving.

I mentioned that in another topic. Yeah it does look like the castle from the second episode where the elements originally were. It seems more of a flashback to me so I guess that's the evidence. It's easy to disprove this though.

I hope so too if everyone called her Princess Twilgiht it will just seem like she's above her friends which shouldn't happen. Also why is Twilight's neck so damn long? That's going to take some getting used too. Princess Twilight *sigh* that just doesn't sound right when you say it out loud

I'm fairly curious now. Throughout the entire series no one even cared that these ponies were part of the Elements of Harmony, but now that Twilight is a princess she becomes noticable. Either the commonfolk are clueless of the Elements or this will be a small thing since it's the premiere, but eitherway I wonder if Twilight will have a harder time blending in or if they'll continue to ignore her like the past seasons.

The Hub's facebook actually posted an image with lines from the premiere. The first part is an unrelated spoiler, but the tailend of it shows something on this.

That aside though, I'm sure once we've gotten into the series her title won't be used much at all from the circle of friends. Perhaps a slip up here and there, and a glare from Twilight (which would be amusing).

 

I still expect some very minor characters and background ponies to call her by the title though.

The Hub has released a more extended synopsis of episode 03, Castle-Mania

 

Twilight and Spike are sent by Celestia to the ruins of her old castle for research, and unknown to each other, the rest of the ponies find their way there as well. Meanwhile, trap doors, secret passages and a dark presence known only as the Shadow Pony await them.

 

 

Also, Cathy voices a Construction Pony? I wonder if that's a point of interest, or them just listing off various background characters. Regardless, I can't wait to see Josh Haber's first pony episode story.

A lot of season 4 goodies are being poured out today just as I predicted. Another image on EQD has been released from another episode. I think it's the episode after the premiere.

 

The synopsis has been released as well  and it's the one where the main characters go to investigate an old castle of Celestia's. There's trap doors and other crap and a shadow pony that's rumored to be Sombra. It's all possible and it sounds very interesting. It also feels like this season feels a lot more adventurous since none of the episode are taking place in Ponyville now.
