I'm sure they won't boot the others to the backseat while Twilight takes the wheel. The series has always been about these characters being a family and the bond that they have with each other overcoming all kinds of adversaries. While Twilight won't be the same, I hope that the others will remain the same as they grow and develop throughout the season. As for Spike, I could care less about him at the moment. He got two episodes this season. I hope they only give him one next season. Two is too much.

You know, now that I think about it, Rarity was really left in the dark this season. She was present in most of the episodes, but she was never given an episode that centered on her like season one's "A Dog and Pony Show."

Honestly, I'm a little curious about how everythings gonna go from here. As an alicorn, and a princess to boot, Twilight's going to have duties, political or otherwise, that'll make things VERY interesting. Although I doubt that they'll put political intrigue in the show, one can't write out such a possibility. To be fair though, we'all need to see more of Twilcorn before we can really say anything.

I wasn't too pleased with season three either. I don't know. Something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. I don't if it was because there were half the episodes, I thought the plots stunk, or what, but I hope season four is better with more Sparity. We didn't get ANY Sparity in this season, unlike the last two seasons.

I personally think that Twilcorn will be a cool new idea for many new episodes, but I don't think it will truely take over the entire show. I hope they keep her as an alicorn for the future. Now all we need is some bad-ass villian that she has to use her new powers (and her friends) to defeat.

Although I really am not comfortable AT ALL with Twilight becoming a princess, I WILL ADMIT that if Hasbro can come up with a good enough reason for the transformation to change my mind, I'll be happy.

But I'd like to see them try.

I believe that they made Twilight an alicorn because they want to show us more about the princesses... In my opinion, Princess Celestia is the most boring character in the show, she is beautiful, kind, she is almost perfect, not a single flaw, at least Luna and Cadence have some funny moments, and even episodes based on them...

 

so I expect to see a more personal approach to Princess Celestia, and I went out of the topic... again.

There's an episode for you: a Ponyville expose' where the ponies are interviewed on camera and asked what they think about Princess Twilight Sparkle.

 

Trixie dismisses the idea altogether and tries to show off her newest magic trick, which fails miserably while they're filming. "Gimmie the tape! GIMMIE THE TAPE!"

The show had way too many songs. I really like the music but it wasn't very enjoyable to watch when basically the whole show was singing. I was constantly waiting for more talking and action. I have mixed feelings about Twilicorn. I'm looking forward to new adventures and even possibility a now with her wings but the show just isn't the same. It will be weird without her In the mane 6 and I hope she's not too caught up in being a princess. And the mane six wont even be even in my perspective. There's now two pegasi, two earth ponies, one unicorn, and one alicorn. Without twilight as a unicorn the mane six just wont be the same.

I agree, Twilight Sparkle suddenly becoming an allicorn is too big a change. Unless, the season 4 beginning will be her turning back into a regular, for as fas as she can be regular, unicorn. If not, i wonder how they will manage to maintain the storyline with Twilight as an allicorn. I personally thought of a scenario: her friends think she changed to much, they dont want to have Twilight as friend anymore, Twilight asks Princess Celestia to be a unicorn again.

Hello there. We happened to have a pinned topic dedicated to sharing whether we approve or disapprove of Twilight's transformation into an Alicorn, and as your topic was essentially related to giving an opinion and asking for those of others, it has been merged with the older one.

 

And no, you aren't alone, even if you are in the minority. I personally wish they had made the decision to develop Twilight in a different way, although I am curious to see what the writers will do with the concept.

I support change all the way as long as it's not ridiculously stupid. This isn't stupid. It's just a sudden plot twist, which will make things much more interesting when the show goes on to season 4.

I liked Twilight much more as a unicorn. One of the most appealing perks of mlp imo is how relatable the characters are, and now it's a lot harder to relate to Twilight (with her being a princess and all). It was nice how Twilight was incredibly smart and talented, without a princess title or wings to show it. I also liked how the mane 6 were all equal to one another, and now it seems that Twilight is above the rest. I'm still having a hard time adjusting to the change, as I still picture her as a cute little unicorn pony.

I think they'll come up with new problems that just being an alicorn isn't going to solve. Also, Celestia and Cadence are alicorns, and they couldn't stop all problems, could they? I think it will open up a new chapter in creative ideas for the show.

Alicorns aren't invincible. Chrysalis managed to defeat Celestia in a magic beam battle, and though Discord is reformed, he still outclasses both Celestia and Luna in terms of sheer power. Also, though we've seen dragons, we don't know what they're capable of (Though I doubt they're cast as villains). Twilight still has yet to fully realize her own power, and as such, there are still believable villains that can make appearances where she will need her friends to help her defeat them.

 

As for adventure, discovering her new powers and abilities should be an adventure in and of itself. Having an episode where she's still handling the finer points of flying would be interesting.

I support Twilicorn too.She deserved her transformation,after all,look all the great things she's achieved!!! It happened too soon but everything is going to be fine.Plus, i am sure season 4 will answer our questions.Despite my inicial fear and disdain of the idea,i ended enjoying the way the writers handled it.

I didn´t have a problem with Alicorn Twilight at all. I basically accepted her change as soon as it got revealed.

 

However, I do know that some of my friends on a different site don´t entirely accept her, but I´m pretty sure they will when season 4 arrives.

Back then, I selected "no."  If I could, I'd change my poll answer to "yes," because I'm now supporting Princess Twilicorn.  And, I'm doing this for the following reasons:

 

1. Twilight had learned so much about the art of friendship, that she might as well apply everything she learned to running an entire nation as its new princess.

 

2. I read The Crystal Heart spell, and it assured me that Twilight will not only stay in Ponyville, but also continue to depend on her friends, no matter how powerful she becomes.

 

3. I asked Meghan McCarthy if Twilight will outlive her friends as an alicorn, and she responded with, "Twilight will not outlive her friends."

 

4. I'm a big fan of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey, which takes a weak, ordinary person, and gradually transforms him into a powerful leader by throwing at him tests and temptations to overcome.

I know their not invincible, but they are extremely powerful, and btw in my opinion, celestia lost out of p.I.s, not becouse she's weak, or chrysalis is more powerful, I mean if she used the power of love to defeat celestia, then wouldn't that mean cadence is more powerful than her? LOVE>SUN?
