I feel like this idea in general has the potential to seriously disrupt the peaceful purity of FiM as I've come to see it.  But I originally said that I didn't have any desire to watch "a little girl's cartoon", and I came to really love FiM itself after giving it a chance.  What's to say EQG couldn't turn out to be in the same boat?  We just won't know until we see it actually happen.  So the only fair thing I can do is wait.

It's also not aimed at the Brony community at all. I don't see any problems. In comparison, I have in the past mentioned the anime "Oh My Goddess".

 

While "Oh My Goddess" was running, there was a parallel series of I believe 52 shorts, in which Belldandy Urd and Skuld would shrunk down really tiny whenever Keiichi wasn't home. The Goddesses then would have very silly adventures with Gan-Chan, a friend of theirs who happened to be a rat! "The Adventures of Mini-Goddess" was quite well received, and a very cute companion piece to the main show. Another thing. It's a quite popular theme in anime to have characters transported to another world on some quest. While there, they take on human form while trying to save the planet they are visiting, or hunting down some missing magical item needed on their own world. I would really like to see "Equestria Girls" follow that lead.

 

Many anime also feature what is known as Omake Theater. It's comprised of very short parody episodes mainly poking fun at the series itself. They'll have Chibi versions of the characters doing basically stupid things. Nobody in Japan throws temper tantrums over it!

Lemme clarify what I meant by that: I don't think EQG is going to have any significant impact on FiM at all - as in, stuff that happens in that show won't have any bearing on the main show.  Maybe at most they might make a passing reference to it as a joke, and that's fine.

 

What I meant is that, similar to my views about sex and violence in brony fan fics, this strikes me as a distraction and something that I personally feel is unnecessary, and stands a chance to disrupt the "peaceful purity" that I get from FiM.  Whether it's canon to the main show or not, the fact that EQG is being based on FiM and involves adaptations/transformations of the Mane 6, just feels off to me somehow.  I have about the same amount of trouble wrapping my head around this as I do the image of any two of the Mane 6 "getting it on" with one another or beating each other senseless.

 

And here I am, normally a proponent of accepting and embracing change.  And I'm in no way saying they shouldn't make EQG or that I will refuse to give it a shot when it comes out.  I'm just saying that, if I were to have my way, they wouldn't humanize the ponies I've come to know and love - we have PLENTY of cartoons about humans as it is.

Well its a bit akward to see them with wings, and I'll admit the skin color thing is a bit.. odd I guess. but its not terrible or anything I don't think.

 

I'll watch like the first episode or two, and if its good then I'll have something else to watch, if it isn't I'll just ignore its exsistance. I doubt they'll put any real connection between the two.

 

Its an interesting concept.. Its possible it could be pulled off as good, not another MLP, but still a possibility of being a good show, it could also be terrible, but you never know. It hasn't come out yet so obviously you can't really tell if it'll be good or not. So like MLP even if its not the most appealing idea at first I'd say I did watch a show with pastel colored ponies and not judge it to much, infact it became my favorite cartoon, so I'd say I owe this atleast a try.

 

Like I've said many times before, if its good then good I get another show to watch between MLP, if it sucks then whatever i just ignore it.

Well things certainly have changed while I was gone.

Okay about the designs.

For some, yes they arn't the best, but at the same time they look better then the image we got a while back (assuming that was fake, and considering this image, yes that old pic was a fake).

 

Now I don't exactly know what kind of art style thy will use for the series. These images look like something they would put in the box art of a product.

So ya we can't tell what sort of art style they will use in the show. It may turn out looking better then we think.

Also I'm okay with them keeping their colors. This would take away the stress I makin the characters have a specific ethnicity. Trust me it would have been weirder if they where all say white/Anglo (is that the correct term?). So ya credits for doing that and avoiding ethnic problems.

 

Only consern is the cutie marks on their cheeks. Parents are always complaining about the smallest of things. Now I know this is aimed at teenage girls (to my understanding) so later parents may get the idea, and this will probably happen trust me, that this show promotes having tattoos. It seems crazy, but parents have done things like this befor. This would kinda hurt this show. Now of corse this may not happen, but it is a possibility.

 

Now we still don't know how the show will end up.

It's still too early to tell.

Now I will still give it a chance. Only then will I make a judgment on this series.

But still Hasbro is getting as bad as Disney now adays! their bucking money grubbing bastards who don't care about any thing but making more stuff for people to buy!!! they make and change things to make little kids (for example) go: "Oh mommy! look it's the new Princess Cadence doll she's such a pretty pink pony can I have her pleeeeeeeeeease!!!" or in a 4 or 7 year old boys case: "Oh mommy look its the new transformers rescue bots toys! their so cool the way their like normal Firefighters and Policemen except giant robots! can we get them pleeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!"

I have to say... I totally laughed like a madman at the first sight of it. It's so... I don't know. I know that I'm supposed to hate it or at least ridicule the idea, but I found that the humanized mane six are kinda cute (maybe it's just the furry it inside me do the talking)

 

Too bad they removed the horns, but at least the formation will be three winged and three earthlings, so it's even.

 

Now I can't wait to see what kind of shit the writers can make from these abominations against nature.

At the risk of sounding intolerrant, grow up. Hasbro owes you NOTHING. Friendship is Magic is still continuing, and like any business they are allowed to throw different ideas at walls and see what sticks. It's a different series entirely. People need to get over their preconceptions and baseless speculation, and wait till the show comes out before they drag the sarin gas canisters into Hasbo HQ because they tarnished the purity of a show about cartoon ponies for grown adults on the internet.
