Anybody Want To See More Zecora?

With the notable exception of Discord Zecora is my favorite non pony character. She has many of the best traits of a lot of my favorite ponies, she is just as intelligent as Twilight possibly even more so and has demonstrated many times that she has extensive knowledge on many subjects Twilight is not familiar with. She is just as strong and resilient as Applejack and Rainbow Dash as she is able to survive and thrive in the Everfree Forest which is one of the most dangerous places in Equestria. And she has an awesome voice and I like the rhyming.

To be honest, not really. She seems to be one of those characters with no noticeable flaws, and I don't think she'll develop any with more screen time. I like her and all, but would prefer focus on other ponies, and for her just to be a supporting character, still.

I like Zecora. I  wouldn't want to see her being overused, but I don't mind her appearing once in a while, when the characters are in a situation where her potions come in handy.

Oh yes. I feel like Zecorah is a pretty underrated character, and I would definitely love to see more of her. Hopefully in season 4 my wish will come true.

I would absolutely love to see an episode all about Zecora's background, her homeland, and her youth. We've seen her as this mature and all-knowing pony, I think it would be interesting to see another side to her.

Well, there's never really been an episode completely centered around Zecora. I mean, Bride Gossip didn't show Zecora that much. But say, Celestia never got her own episode either, and she's a really important character. And it'd be hard for them to write a whole episode with her rhyming all the time (unless something happened and Zecora stopped rhyming...that'd make a good ep, explaining why she rhymes).

 

I totally agree with you though, she deserves more attention. Hopefully an episode 'bout her will pop up eventually.

I'd agree writing the whole episode with Zecora rhyming would be a challenge for writers.

I don't know if basing an episode on her would be that great of an idea but I would definitively like to see her have a little more screen time. On the other hand too much screen time and her rhyming will get on people's nerves.

Heck yes! Zecora has been one of my favorite secondary characters ever since Magic Duel. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a really interesting backstory, and I can think of loads of great ways for the writers to use her in future episodes.

I kinda hope to see less of Zecora in season 4. After the Just for Sidekicks episode, Zecora kinda seems like a jerk to me now. There seems to be no flaws with her and not much to really look at with her. Maybe an episode on how she came to live in the Everfree forest, but after that I don't think there would be much to talk about.

I just like Zecora's rhyming and voice . I mean she doesn't exactly have the most complex and interesting character, but idk maybe its just because shes kinda been on the side. And hasn't had an actual episode I guess.

 

I don't mind her for sure, but she could use some form of character development if she did have more screentime eventually, or she should just remained in her kinda side role to appear a few times every now and then.

She was perfectly justified in treating Spike the way she did, as he was the one who acted like a complete jerk for the entire episode. He neglected is duty to take care of the pets and was obsessed with the gems, Zecora tried to show him that, and had he listened to her he would have saved himself a lot of trouble (seriously, Granny Smith is the real jerk here, she took a bribe and abandonned the pets, including the Apple family dog to Spike's abusive care).

 

I would lovelovelove to see more of her, she's a very underappreciated character. Really, AJ and Rarity fans, you think you have it hard? Try being a Zecora fan.

Really, what Zecora did was just fine? She offers to help someone for payment, takes the gem and gives it away, and then just walks away and does nothing to help. Clearly she is next in line for the element of generosity. NO!

 

Now true, Spike may of had his problems taking care of the pets and was only thinking about himself, but if you offer help you better help.

 

Just saying if she tries to pull that kinda of thing again, Zecora is going to find that her house is gone one day and all that well be around is little green flames.

She did do something to help, she did more than anyone else did to help. That's the absolute beauty of that scene and most people don't even understand it. After taking the gem, she gave him exellent advice in exchange, priceless advice even. Giving the gem away was also part of her compensation towards him: she set an example to follow. We all know that Zecora would never care about the gem, she only demanded it in order to drive her point better. Her asking for the gem was part of the help. If Zecora truly was selfish, she would not have involved herself in the situation.

What she did was utterly selfless, she never even would have asked for payment if Spike hoarding gems wasn't at the center of the problem in the first place, and was probably disgusted at the idea of keeping the gem. Spike giving away material possessions in exchange for what, on the surface, doesn't look valuable was exactly the lesson he needed to learn. Zecora is a freaking genius.

Zecora is a great side character, but the focus should be on the ponies.  She should be given more screen time, but she serves greatly as just a side character.

Zecora is like the Yoda of MLP. She speaks weird, lives out far, and helps when she can. Of course I would love to see more Zecora. They should do an episode called "The Filly Flu", when everyone except Zecora turn into fillies by Pinkie missing up one of Twilight's spells, and Zecora has to use her powers to help.

I like Zecora. She is one of those rhyming characters that you always pay attention to. There rhyming makes me want to listen to them more.

But it would totally change the nature of the nature of the character IMO. Okay this is just being butthurt about Twilight's transformation. The reason Zecora stays in the everfree forest is because she finds the stuff she needs for her potions and medecine and such in there.

 

I like the idea of the 'Filly flu' but I think they already used that concept with the poison joke in Bridle Gossip. Well, there's no reason not to reuse the idea if they do it right.

I like Zecora because of her constant couplets/rhyming. They're so enjoyable to hear from a great background pony like her. I wouldn't mind seeing her in an episode that has her as one of the main background ponies in an episode or two, that would be pretty epic

I have noticed that a couple of people have said that Zecora has no noticeable flaws, but we don't really know that because she hasn't been given enough time as a character to determine that as all of her rolls have been as either mentor in the case of Magic Duel or as a voice of reason. And while I didn't suggest an episode starring her per se the more think about it the more I like it.

Would love to see an episode where she needs to travel back home and maybe get the mane 5 to help. It just seems she i a bit of an after-thought and that "diversity or her charcters should be better explored and used (although she has had quite a few cameos).

I'd like to see more of her, especially in regards to her past, why she came to Ponyville and generally on Zebra culture. She's a bit of a mystery.
