Seems a bit weird to hold an attractiveness contest to me. I can't really explain it, but it feels mean-spirited to judge people based on attractiveness. I know there are real contests for it, but it feels off in the brony community.

I think the motivation is actually to boost girls' self confidence by showing off themselves in front of a bunch of friendly, nonjudgemental goofballs (us).

Because a lot of people here don't really realize that there are many girls here, and often are more likely to favor female users if they see them. This is supposed to show that there are a lot of pegasisters here.

 

and, yes, we know it's shallow, but it's all in good fun. Anyway, Everyone's beautiful in their own right, so it isnt a big deal

Yes, that's me.  That's what I usually wear when I'm performing on my harp, (it's just a suit top and a tiered satin skirt, but they go so nicely together. )

 

Last year, I was asked by one of the local churches to play harp at a special morning service just for women of the area during Lent.  (*blushes*  I'm sorry, I don't remember exactly when Lent is.)

I know we're all kind and non-judgmental, but calling it a contest instantly makes it judgmental. I'm not usually this kind of morality nanny, but for some reason this just get under my skin. I apologize for any fun I may have sapped. You are all very pretty, but I'd rather not rank any of you. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

 

It just seems like when you run a race or compete in a sport, you get ranked for your effort and skill. With beauty contests, you can only do so much before you get to a level you can't control without surgery.
