My honest opinion?

Well, here goes.

Celestia's flowing mane is ticking me off. Why does she get to be the special snowflake while Luna has a normal mane?

Snowdrop's voice was hard to bear with.

I feel like they expected us to attach to her very quickly. I went "aww" at some points but nothing more than that.

Ok... Luna had a random OC as her only friend? Seems legit.

The dialogue was so long at some points...

Everything about Snowdrop was beautiful.  The story, voice acting, animation, all of it was great.  I could tell so much emotion was poured into it and I can't wait to see what else they come up with.

Also, Snowdrop being blind really got to me. It just intensified everything. Even thinking about it makes the feels come back sad.png .

Saw this with my GF. She's not a brony, but she loved it.

Me. I like think of myself as a big bad tough guy, but this brought tears to my eye-much to the delight of girl friend. Of course I'm a big ol' softy. She's caught me a few times shedding liquid pride at the really sad parts of movies.

oh wow, didn't expect to see a whole thread on Snowdrop here, cool!

VA of Celestia and Cumulo Nimbus (the bratty filly in Snowdrop's class) here. Glad to see a lot of you liked it! Believe me, we (as in, myself and the rest of SFS) are certainly listening to the valuable feedback we've been receiving.

Just throwing this out there, as I see people comment on it quite frequently, and not just here. Meredith, who wrote the story and script, said this about writing Snowdrop as blind on the SFS tumblr blog here http://sillyfillystudios.tumblr.com/post/46131490123/what-are-your-thoughts-on-snowdrop-as-a-disabled

Some of the microphones were definitely muffled, particularly the teacher's. Not that I really expect a fan-made work to have 100% professional sound quality, but since I am not a sound quality type person, I think that if I can tell that sound quality is muffled, then she needs to save some money, get a better microphone, and record in a silent place, or someone should invest in a good sound editor (or learn to use Audacity to its fullest capacity) and get the white noise out.

I'm not the only one who thought this?  I thought that maybe because I work with sound a lot in my major, I might just be being nit-picky.  That was really the only complaint that I had though.

Other than that, I thought that this animation was gorgeous.  What really got to me was the conversation between Snowdrop and her mother about wishing on the stars.  I personally thought that the character's expressions, the voice acting, and the dialogue was phenomenal in that scene.  Overall, I found it to be one of the better creative works to come from the fandom (which is certainly saying something).

My opinion: IT WAS AMAZING!!! ...For a fan-made animation. :P

This is probably some of the most show-loyal animation I've seen. I know there were some problems with the animation, but all in all, it looked pretty great. I, for one, am not fully in the "Double Rainboom's animation will be better" boat. The first fully-animated trailer for it looked pretty amazing, but their second trailer looks slightly less stellar. We will see.

The story was pretty good, IMO. It helped that I didn't know anything about snowdrop prior to watching it. I din't cry, but I rarely do for that sort of thing. I cry about rather odd things sometimes. O_o The ending, although typical was very nice.

I'll need to watch it again for the music... I wasn't really listening to it the first time around, so I don't have an opinion on it right now.

Voice acting was decent for a fan-made creation. Of course, it wasn't as good as the real thing, but it was better than some fan VAs.

No offence to the VAs. :P

As a fan animation, I give Snowdrop a 8/10. I feel that it may very well top Double Rainboom, but we will have to wait and see. :)

I thought it was ok.  Snowdrop was kinof one of those anime oh I'm so incredibly shy and inadequate types, and her speech connecting herself to winter was hammered a little hard, but it was a nice litle story with good morals and the scene where she's making the snowflake star is great.

I love you.

My reactions:

I actually didn't cry. Instead I had a strange feeling in my throat, as if I wanted to cry, as if felt happy for Snowdrop all the same. Usually I feel like that when something as really touched me, and this story really and truly did. :')

p.s I'm kind of surprised that I didn't cry, though I don't cry much, yet somehow I thought that this would be an exception

I think that I noticed it because the animation was so close to the show, when the sound didn't have nearly the same quality, it was extremely jarring. I do not work with sound much although I do talk on the phone a lot at work, and I can tell the differences between certain sound qualities on some phones.

I admit that Snowdrop made me shed a few tears. Then again, I am a very emotional person. But still, it was a great fan-made video, it had a touching story, and very nice animation.

I loved it ~ <3

It was certainly pretty, that's for sure. Probably the best animated video that's longer than five minutes from the fandom to date. I liked Snowdrop's design, and she was pretty adorable. Voice Acting was OK, but when Snowdrop first opened her mouth my brain instantly connected her to Fluttershy and I couldn't shake the feeling that her voice actress was drawing too much of Fluttershy's voice for her Snowdrop voice.

The idea of a blind pony was nice, although really, they were playing it up maybe a bit too much for my liking. Snowdrop being teased by her classmates comes to mind, but there's also this scene that left a really bad taste in my mouth. The one where Snowdrop and her mother are talking about wishing on stars, and Snowdrop asks if she could wish to see. Her mother tells her that it's better to "save her wishes for something really important". Sure, I get the message that they're trying to send here. However, right after this, there's this tiny bit of dialogue:

Snowdrop: "Don't I really need my eyes?

Mother: No, not you. You're too special for that.

Something about that really rubs me the wrong way. I just can't put my finger on it.

Yeah, the feels were very forced, but they were there all right. I did get a bit teary-eyed. Overall, it was pretty good. I mostly admire it for it's ambition and animation.

Okay, I had quite a reaction to Snowdrop, but I think some context is in order for all y'all bronies to grasp the magnitude of the situation. I am a teenage male, I enjoy explosions and weapons, I have not shed tears (out of pain or sadness) in at least a decade, and I pride myself on my manly manliness, much like this guy -->mellow.png.

Now then, when I watched Snowdrop I counted myself lucky there was no one else there because I...

I...

Sweet Celestia on a pogo stick, I bawled my bucking eyes out. Seriously, I broke my arm in the sixth grade (before my transition into manly manliness) and I did not cry as hard as I did watching this masterpiece. And the ending; sweet merciful pony deities, the ending! I cried for ten minutes straight when I saw that. Oh God, I'm getting sniffly. *whimpers* Excuse me, I need to get some tissue. sad.png

Just saw this, I basically just found out about it yesterday by happenstance after all. :P

Anyway, I loved it. Snowdrop herself is just so adorable, I love how her blindness is rather subtley revealed(although I suppose the pupils are a bit telling). I could honestly see myself going crazy over her, I loved her that much! Anyway, the whole story was just so beautiful, I have nothing bad to say about this, the fact that the video existed just came out of nowhere for me and blew me away, just brilliant a brilliant piece of work out of our amazingly talented fandom. :D:(

i was surprised at the quality of the video, alot of fan animations i see are not that good. This is one of the few things that actually made me get misty. The voice acting and animation were amazing and the story was very good.

It was incredibly beautiful and, in my opinion, superior in quality to most of the standard MLP episodes. Not saying that the standard episodes are bad, its just... this one was amazing. It made me cry at the end, and that's not an easy thing to do (okay so it's easier than I thought but still).

I was impressed with Snowdrops.  It was great.  I found it well written, well acted, and beautifully executed.  The end was so touching.  While I didn't cry it still touched me deep down.
