Don't Fight It

Great to here you came back to the bronydom! I'm a fan of Pokemon too! My Little Pony is the part of us that just wants a little more smiles and colour in our lives to make the problems in life better. You just can't throw away a part of who you are.

I am a fan of Pokemon as well. True, I haven't played it in a while, but it holds a special place in my heart and it was my childhood.

I'm surprised you made it more than 5 days. MLP is a show that sticks with you even when you are doing other things. There are times in school when I'll just think about MLP when everyone is reading. I will constantly snap out of daydreams about MLP in the middle of class/study hall that have been going on for 10-15 minutes. It is quite impossible to just up and quit anything cold turkey, let alone something like MLP.

Well I am 30 years old and a guy, and really, really love MLP FIM. As per my profile MLP has been a big support for me emotionally and mentally . However for some weird reason I came to the conclusion that no one would ever take seriously a guy who's 30 that likes ponies. So I did something that I regret. I tried to leave the fandom, and not just this one, my other favorite fandom, Pokemon. Think I made it about 2 1/2 weeks before I started to get extremely depressed and actualy started having more problems with my PTSD. I came running back to both my fandoms and now all is well again. I guess moral of the story is enyoy what ever you enjoy regardless of what society thinks. One mistake I will never make again. Love you all. =)

Once you go pony, you'll never be lonely...

(It kinda rhymed...)

Glad your back though my friend, i've only been in this fandom for like 2 1/2 weeks =P (Like 3 weeks actually) and i've been enjoying it!

Here's some epic pony art.

Bravo, good sir. People like to think fandoms are immature... but to cave to society's demands of conformity is the real immaturity. Do as you please and forget about what everyone else thinks. That's what real maturity is all about. But it looks like you've figured that out already! Congratulations! biggrin.png

Hey-glad you came back.

As far as the whole age thing goes, I'm 43, married with 2 kids and I love this show and it's fandom.

You'll find as you get older that the things that make you happy come along less frequently, so when you find something you enjoy, guard it-regardless of what anyone else thinks. you don't live in their opinion.

Be yourself. like what you like, and hang out with people who will build you up rather that tear you down.

I've always liked things that seem too young for me. I retained my love for Inuyasha and Yugioh as an adult, as well as coming to love Victorious and MLP and becoming a huge part of the fandoms. People are going to laugh at crap that you do, they're going to be asses in general because that's just how they are. Why should me or you or anyone else be miserable because random people don't approve or have nothing better to do than laugh at what we do? I'm glad you didn't let the opinions of others compromise a part of yourself.

I think this is a fantastic show, with a fantastic fandom. What you do for fun is your business (unless you're a crazy murderer) so tell them all to booger off.

Mister Gleam, welcome back... We missed you.

Okay, in all seriousness, as a 28 year old female fan of both MLP and Pokemon, I feel you man. I considered leaving once, but it was fleeting. I realized how unhappy I would be without them, and never left. Welcome back to the herd.

Ummm

One can not run away from they like. About being taken seriously by others one should ask themself if this is even what they want. There are so many people out there I don'T care at all what they think about me.

It's your life you cannot run away from yourself and shouldn't try for anyone.
