Would you consider MLP FIM as your all time favorite cartoon?

So, after looking back, I realized that I've seen many cartoons in my life. Whether it's animated, CGI, or flash, I've been impressed by it. Many were well done in terms of animation, writing, characters, and more!

 

However, after looking at MLP FIM, I was impressed all the way with all of it's qualities! And it made me realize something, would I consider it my all time favorite?

 

I personally still don't have an all time favorite cartoon, but MLP FIM might be the one.

 

What about you guys? I need opinions and ideas to make up my decision. 

 

PS: Would you say this is your all time favorite due to the fandom? Some people have agreed on that.

I think so, Just because the other cartoons I watched when I was young I didn't have as much of a well developed mind back then. Plus nostalgia crowds some of those thoughts sometimes to.

 

I love MLP thats for sure. I think it could be my favorite cartoon, even if I never considered this before. I don't watch any other cartoons, so its my favorite that I watch, but not sure if its my favorite of all time.

 

Regardless I love it and the community, and thats all that matters.

Thinking back, I actually haven't watched all that many cartoons. Or at least not fully as in keeping up with the seasons and episodes as much. Not to mention more of my love of the show comes from the fandom itself, rather than just the show.

 

Regardless it's a good show and I could see myself changing my tune once Season 4 rolls around.

Absolutely not. I adore the show as well, but it's not my absolute favorite. That distinction goes to Batman: The Animated Series, or Avatar: The Last Airbender, or Gargoyles. Those three animated shows can easily dissolve me into a puddle of squeaking fangirliness any day.

No, not ever. I mean, sure when I first got into it, I was obsessed for a few weeks, but even then I wouldn't have even placed it in my top 10. Now, thanks to season 3 its not even in my top 25.

No... It's really good, don't get me wrong, but I think Avatar: The Last Airbender takes 1st place in my book. But it is really close to being mah fav.

 

And then, of course, there's Legend of Korra, but MLP might be a bit better than that. :3

 

And, to be clear, I haven't watched a ton of cartoons, so... Yeah.

Nope, plenty of other shows deserve that honor for me. I'm more into epic, expansive storylines instead of the episodic adventures/slice-of-life formats.

I can see it, mainly because I only watch 5 cartoons or animations consistantly and MLP is one of the ones I tend to go to first.

I'd say it's probably tied with Pokemon.

I honestly don't know... Digimon seasons 1-3 were fantastic and medabots is still my absolute favourite. I do know that MLP is pretty high on the list, slightly above beyblade season 1 and just below pokemon season 1.

No, I would put it near the top of my personal list, probably top five, but Princess Tutu gets the honor of being my favorite animated series. I think it all comes down to taste. FiM is fantastic, but I personally prefer what Princess Tutu does with its world and stories. Not that FiM doesn't do a good job with these things, because it does. It's just what I enjoyed the most out of every cartoon I've watched. :B

My all time favorite goes to Pokemon. The Kanto, Johto and Hoenn anime's were fantastic. MLP FiM is amazing, but Pokémon Anime was my childhood.

I'm so enthralled with MLP:FiM right now, it's tempting to say yes. But I've had several favorite cartoons over my lifetime, so I have to be honest and say maybe. If I make it to my 80s and have a chance to look back, yes, there is a very good chance I will consider this the best cartoon of my life. But there are no guarantees. It's also possible something even cooler than this will enamor me in the future.

It's definitely in the top 20 in my mind but the N°1 spot goes to Megas XLR (It died before tis time)

 

Also, i have another list for anime so... yeah, if you combine them, MLP goes near the top 30 for me.

 

Don't get me wrong, its a really good show, but in my heart there's others, others than came before this and that i enjoy far more and, in my personal opinion, are better.

Well most of the cartoons I watched when I were growing up I really disliked, I think the only ones I could sit down and enjoy were Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob. I would say Pokemon as well but I really don't know if that goes under anime or cartoon But I have really enjoyed MLP and I would be lying if I said the fanbase hasn't amplified the enjoyment of the show for me

But I don't have a favorite cartoon. I do like the show but it's not my absolute favorite cartoon. I think that most cartoons are good.

Nope, Slayers is still my all time favorite for its awesome characters/animation/music, SNES RPG sort of vibe, and epic stories. But MLP is definitely up there.

I want to say yes, but there have been so many good animated series that I have watched that I can't say yes.

Now it is in my top 10 all time favorites, that I am certain of.

But there are so many great cartoons that I have watched over the years that I can't decide.

Maybe I will make a list of all my all time favorite cartoons, rewatch them (enough or all if story is involved) and then make a top 11 all time favorite cartoons I have seen so far.

I know that MLp will be on that list, but how far up, and if it doesn't win #1 then what did.

It's good, perhaps better than it had any right to expect to be, but no... I wouldn't say it's the best cartoon I've seen. It has its flaws... there are many animation errors, the writing is not always as good as it can be, there are plot holes to be aware of... I'd certainly put Reboot, Beast Wars and Invader Zim ahead of it in my list of great cartoons. But it's up there.

Lolwut? Digimon and Pokemon were/are animes. I guess they still class as "cartoons" but most people wouldn't class them as such.

Anime is nothing but the word used to mean cartoons that were produced in Japan, being a contraction of the word animation. So I would think it perfectly alright to compare with MLP for the spot of best animated show.

No where near. While I do love the show, there are others that are so much better.

 

The Last Airbender starts child-friendly then delves into Death, Insanity, War, Loss, Love, Friendships - all on a deeper and more mature level than MLP ever will.

 

Ghost Busters touched on a lot of awesome enemy designs, Tale Spin had a fascinating world to explore, Venture Brothers starts off silly but the storyline grows more and more in terms of character development and depth.

 

It's a great show, but no here near my #1 spot. It's in my Top 20.

Yes, but they are considered separate because the two are so different in content, target audience, and structure.

 

Anyway, my favorite cartoon would probably be a tie between Avatar: The Last Airbender or Young Justice (which just got canceled Firefly style. All my rage). Depending on my mood, Archer or Boondocks can also be my favorite. MLP comes in somewhere around #5 or #6.

 

If we ARE including anime, MLP falls further. It's great, but not amazing.

I wouldn't say I could choose my absolute favorite cartoon, but MLP is definitely in the top three, if not #1. (If I had a numbered list) I certainly watch it way more than... well, any other TV show actually.

Wow.  I am surprised by all of the people who said "no."  I say "yes - definitely - no question."  I love how it has both the big adventures and the mundane day-to-day stories.  I love that it can make me laugh and cry.  I love the fact that it takes place in a magical world where friendship is the most powerful force.  I love that the characters are adorable talking animals with engaging personalities - with whom I wish I could converse and play and snuggle.  In my opinion, it has a perfect combination of elements that has never been matched by anything else.  It is much more than just my favorite cartoon.  I have never had the feelings towards any fictional world, or characters, that I do towards "My Little Pony."
