Cliff raised his eyebrows. Either this mare was being deliberately unhelpful, or she was just shy. Either way, Cliff was determined to make her like him. He shrugged. “All right then, we can just hang,” He said. “So what are you doing in Las Haygus? No offense or anything, but you don’t really look like the kind of filly who enjoys the city-scene, am I right?”

She smelled like a fresh garden. It was nice, since most of the mares he hung around with were always scented with mist from the clouds, which usually stripped them of any actual aroma. Still, the conversation here was loud, and there were ponies everywhere. “Look, even if you haven’t eaten, can I at least buy you a hayshake?” He gestured to the lounge. “I promise I won’t bite. Just trying to be friendly, honest.” His smile was quick, and it crinkled the corners of his amber eyes.

Dox stepped out of the taxi and looked up at the hotel. He shook his head and sighed, grabbing his things and walking in the front doors. He approached the counter and set his bags down, saying, "Hello, I'm Paradox, here for the winning the sweepstakes or whatever." 'A sweepstakes I didn't even enter...' He thought.

"Right, sir, we'll have a bellhop take your things right to your room." The pony at the counter said.

"Thanks..." Said Dox as he walked off to sit down.

Aquaris yawned as he left the hotel and headed outside. "Well met 2 new ponies...except one didn't even hear what I said" Aquaris said as he stared at the moon. "I wonder if should head to bed now in my hotel room it's getting dark" Aquaris said as he yawned and headed back inside.

@@Umbreon,

"P..Para..noid Fright." She spoke in an almost inaudible voice. She was starting to feel a little more comfortable. But only a little. At least this pony was nice. Was he? What if he was acting. She started thinking of more possible conspiracy's. And, it was back to square one. She whimpered again. How would she be able to stay here for seven days?

Milly looked around to see who to talk to, she wasn't going to let her shyness and awkwardness get in the way of her having fun! Most of the ponies seemed to be talking to somepony else, then she saw a black and white pony with a eye patch hes sorta cute she thought and he wasn't talking to anypony so she went over to him "Uh..h-hi i'm MillyMusic...whats your name?" Milly said shyly

Ocean spotted the elevators and made her way over...but accidentally bumped into cerulean colt who was talking to a green mare...who was covered in dirt. "Oh...my apologies." She muttered, leaning down and picking two books that had fallen from her bag.

She put them back in and kept walking towards the elevator...a little faster than she usually would.

"I, um... I won the sweepstakes," she said, rather unnecessarily. And as if to prove his point of not being a city filly by complete coincidence, she glanced uncomfortably around the high-ceilinged room. And barely a moment later, she was invited to have a hayshake. Well, at least it was still at the hotel. She sighed, and caved in. "I suppose that would be alright," she said, looking up, trying to meet the stallion's eyes, but flitting away at the last second.

"It's okay," Eve mumbled, half hoping this new pony would stay. She noticed, unconsciously, the liquid grace with which she moved. She had to admire that in a pony.

Yep... She was frightened of him. Badly. Still, Percussive was determined to at least make her open up a little.

"...Paranoid Fright... Would it be all right with you if I called you "Para" for short? I'll let you call me "Percuss" for short if you do.", he tried to sweeten out. This was honestly tough...

Vaas looked that the hotel with a smirk on his face, "Reminds me of where I grew up.' He mumbled, he walked into the hotel noticing a group of ponies talking. He walked up to the front desk ringing the bell, he told the clerk, "I'm a winner of the sweepstakes." He looked over at the casino side of the hotel and began to smile with greed, then he looked at the group of ponies talking and wondered if they were winners also. He decided to walk over and introduce himself to the group hoping to get on there friendly side.

@@Umbreon,

"okay, Per... Percuss." She was, in fact, very happy with the name given to her, but didn't show it. It was the same name Mirror had given her. But this wasn't Mirror. This was a stranger, with unknown reasoning. Possibly bad reasoning.  And she wanted to make it home after this. She was still being cautious around the stranger, but not quite as much.

Progress, Cliff thought to himself. He opened his mouth to say something, when a mare hurried past him, spilling two books out of her bag. “Whoa there, sweetheart,” He laughed, calling after her as she scampered off to the elevator. “Take it easy!” She was a cute little filly, maybe something worth pursuing if they bumped into each other again. Las Haygus seemed to be full of nice looking mares. This day was getting better and better.

Something caught his attention. There was a smaller pony in the corner, curled in a ball and near tears, while a young colt talked to her soothingly. The urge to go over and see if he could help struck him, but it would be rude to leave the filly.

He turned his attention back to the unicorn, and gestured towards the lounge. “C’mon. Hayshakes and small talk.” Cliff noticed that she had difficulty making eye contact. Ah well, they had just met, after all. Besides, she was making him interested by...not showing she was interested. He didn’t want to think about that too much.

Once the glass doors of the lounge was closed, the noise dimmed considerably. The lights were lower as well, with a backlit bar and a small screened spa area. The front of the lounge had a glass front, so the sights of the magnificent Wynny lobby were still visible, but it was quieter and more discreet here. Cliff picked a spot near the middle of the room – not at the bar, under everypony’s scrutiny, and not in some dark secluded corner either. A waiter with a fantastically pointed moustache came over. “May I take your order?” He drawled.

“Two hayshakes,” Cliff said easily. “Extra whipped cream on mine.”

When the waiter departed, Cliff leaned back in his chair. “So, where do you come from? Someplace with plenty of gardens, I hope. Oh, and I never caught your name...what was it again?”

Dox had barely gotten a chance to sit down before he heard a voice behind him. 'Oh, great, now what is it?' He thought as he turned around quickly to face the pony who interrupted his getting comfortable. He was a bit stunned to see a pink unicorn mare with a brown mane talking to him. His attitude changed because, whoever she was, she seemed nice, and he didn't want to insult her. "Oh, uh, hi, I'm Paradox. Dox for short."

Percussive smiled, finally seeing that she was opening up. But... Maybe she would want time to herself... Or just to get out of the dan g corner.

"OK, Para... Now... Would you like to come out of this corner? There's a lot of better things to do than just sit in a corner by yourself, you know.", he said, adding a bit of an innocent chuckle. His neck craned around, seeing who was around, as he spotted Eve leaving off with another stallion. His nervousness came back...

Ocean stopped. Sweetheart ? Really ? She rolled her eyes and just kept walking.

She pushed the button on the elevator and waited a moment before the doors opened and the beautiful interior of the Elevator was revealed.

It had a marble floor that looked like it had just been polished, it had what looked almost like a mini chandelier hanging from the ceiling. On either side was a mirror with a golden frame.

Ocean was impressed...which was rare.

She stepped inside and pushed the button that would take her up to the eighth floor...the doors began to close.

(Perfect time to interact with ocean (She will probably be grumpy) But still...eeyup)

"Good knowing how big this place is it would have taken forever to get another elevator back" Aquaris thought as he noticed the pony he was standing next to as he pressed the button a button for the 10th  floor. "Um high my name is Aquaris what's your name" Aquaris asked in a friendly tone.

@@@Umbreon,

Unlike her conversational partner, Eve sat as stiffly as a board. Why couldn't she just be her antisocial self in peace...?

"I'm... I'm Evergreen," she mumbled. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Cussie... No, you mustn't call him that anymore... peeking at her.  Well, she'd show him.

Suddenly feeling a random sense of encouragement, her voice sounded somewhat more confidently, and although it was still quiet, it was more clearly audible. No stammering. She forced herself to relax a bit.

"But ponies call me Eve. And I live... I live in a giant garden near the Everfree Forest by Ponyville." She smiled hesitantly. "How'd you guess, stranger?"

Ocean let out an inaudible sigh and moved a few inches away from the pony that had just joined her in the elevator. "Ocean Wind." She said, glancing in the mirror at her reflection...then up at the numbers above the door telling them which floor they were on...they were moving passed the second floor now...

There, now she was relaxing! At first, she seemed ready to bolt at the slightest provocation, but after a moment or two she seemed to find some inner well of strength. Good for her. She even gave him a bit of a smile and it enhanced her looks tremendously. “Eve it is,” He said cheerfully. “A garden, huh? That explains the roses. Funny, I’ve lived in Cloudsdale my whole life and I’ve never seen you before.”

As the hayshakes arrived, Cliff wondered at her. She seemed dainty, almost refined, and yet the ponies in Ponyville tended to be larger-than-life characters. Well, exceptions to every rule. “You won the sweepstakes too, huh? What are your plans for the rest of the trip? I was hoping to meet up with a couple of friends, maybe see the Hoofer Dam, stuff like that.” He laughed a little. “It’s not often I get to play the tourist.”

@@Umbreon,

"Um... Maybe later" She was still too afraid to leave the corner. She would have to go to her room eventually, but eventually wasn't now. She could just hide in the corner, until it was less crouded. She noticed Percuss looking at two ponies, but didn't think much of it. Then she realized something. She still had her suitcase. She had to take it to the bellcolt. But, what if the bellcolt was bad? She whimpered again.

Dox gave a small smile. "Nice to meet you, Milly. I wonder, are you one of the sweepstakes winners, too?" He asked. He wanted to know, to see if anypony else had mysteriously won like he did. "I won, but, the really odd thing was, I didn't even play. My mother was the one who told me I was one of the ponies in a list who won."

Ocean noticed him facehoof and opened her mouth as if to suggest something...then she closed it as nothing came to mind.

She stayed quiet then thought it would be polite to say something. "I uh...sorry. Did you not go to the de-" She was cut off as the elevator dinged and the doors opened...they had reached the eighth floor.

Ocean walked out with her stuff floating behind her but before walking down the hall, she turned to look at Aquaris. "Um...it was nice meeting you Aquaris." She said...in an attempt to be friendly...which didn't really work.

She gave him a weak smile before walking down the hall towards her room.

OK, so plan A was not working at all. Percussive needed to think of something else... But what else came to mind? He only sighed... That's when he noticed her bag was still with her...

"Hey... I have an idea. Do you want me to take your bag and show you to your room?", he asked calmly, hoping she would oblige to that. If not, Plan C was up. And that was to just straight up leave.
