Who would make the best parent?

Definitely a question where one should carefully reflect on the Mane Six, how they've matured through the past three seasons, and how much more they may mature in the future, based on that, and what they believe the ponies could individually accomplish. Obviously none of the Mane Six are liable to become moms at their current ages, and we're looking at several if not numerous or a dozen years in the future. I think all of them would make decent moms, seeing as you don't become an Element of Harmony if you're not a truly good person/pony. Each of them is so unique that they'd each have their own parenting style, so it's a bit hard for me to choose. After all, jumping on the bandwagon and choosing Applejack because she's arguably the most level-headed and mature of them, now, doesn't mean she'd outdo the other five at parenting. Everyone's got their strengths and weaknesses, and everyone matures at different rates.

But of the mane six I'd say they would all do just fine because no matter which one of them had the foal, all of them would have a hand in raising it. Who you think would be best mother is probably a reflection of what kind of person you are and what you personally value in a parent. If I had to choose one of them to be my mother I would choose Pinkie Pie because I'm into comedy and having such a jovial role model would make me feel confident that I could do it too! Plus Pinkie Pie's kid would be a happy person, and as long as you're happy you're doing okay.

I think that Fluttershy would make the best parent. She is very kind and knows how to care for living creatures. Also, if things out of hand, she has her stare. My only concern is that she may be pushed around by her children. Applejack could make a good mother as well.

It's a toss-up between Applejack and Fluttershy, and I can easily see both sides on the matter, but I think I'm leaning more towards Applejack. It's true that Fluttershy is very warm and nurturing, but you need more than that to be a good parent. Applejack has a lot more backbone and would teach some discipline to her filly a bit better than a softy like Fluttershy. Take Angel Bunny for example, he literally walks all over Fluttershy because of her door mat tendencies, and while Flutter has developed and gotten better in that department, I'm sure she would still struggle at times and give in to her kid when she shouldn't.

 

The big difference between Applejack and Fluttershy is that Applejack is much more family-oriented than Fluttershy. AJ is all about her family and what she can do for them, and she will always place her loved ones above herself. Fluttershy's true love and passion lies with her animals, who are very demanding and needy of her time and effort. The animals are, in a sense, Fluttershy's children. Fluttershy is a pony whose calling is really more with animals than kids. Applejack is experienced enough with children, and is already a bit of a motherly figure to Apple Bloom. Applejack is by no means perfect, but she's even-keeled, mature, and responsible enough to be an outstanding parent. We've seen AJ act as a chaperone to the Crusaders more than once, and never with any difficulty.

 

After Fluttershy, I'd say Twilight Sparkle and Rarity would also make great mothers. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash don't make for the most ideal parents at this point due to their more child-like behavior and young-mindedness, but they have their strong points too.

Personally, I would say Applejack. She has a very large family to go to if she needs help, and she seems like the only one who would be able to stay calm enough to actually handle a foal. Also, have you seen how good she is with Apple Bloom? She'd be a great mom.

Applejack is almost overqualified for this poll because she already does a great job filling that role in regards to Apple Bloom. 

 

All of the Mane 6 have good motherhood qualities and show kindness toward the little ones.  But after Applejack, I think Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are the next best two candidates.  If they have issues, Pinkie's is that nobody takes her seriously (remember Baby Cakes) and she may even sell herself short as a potential mom.  Fluttershy has shown that she has a backbone and will use it when necessary.  But being a mom often means being firm for extended periods.  Having to be tough with a child for a long time might take its toll on Fluttershy. 

 

RD, Twilight, and Rarity could do well also, but they need to show me they're willing and able to put the needs of a child before their careers.

I'd say Fluttershy because she acts motherly. She treats her animals and she would treat kids as well. She loving and caring

She also has The Stare in case a child lacks discipline. She may be quiet but she makes the best mother. She's kind and would care for her kids all the time

I agree that all the mane 6 would make great parents. 

 

But If I had to pick one I think it would be Apple Jack because she's really strong individual and she has had great experience caring for Apple Bloom.

Definitely Fluttershy. She's kind, considerate and would be perfect as a mother! She can be assertive when she wants to be, particularly with her "Stare".

Applejack hands down. She's responsible levelheaded and she has all of the right traits in all of the right places.

Twilight doesn't seem to get an interaction with colts/fillies so who knows how she would be with them? I also think she would be the type of mom to crack under pressure and just go crazy at some point.

Rainbow Dash seems like the kind of parents who would be charged with reckless endangerment.

Pinkie Pie as well, and she's not very serious most of the time.

Fluttershy is more of an animal person.

And Rarity, as much as I love her would be a horrible parent. She's a good big sister (well kinda) but not parent material.

I'd have to say that all of them except Rainbow Dash (the only one currently too immature to handle it) would at least stand a chance. AJ already has experience with a younger sibling and has shown that she acts as a good parental figure for Applebloom, so she would ideally be a parent (and realistically would probably be the first to actually sire a child barring something stupid happening).

I'm going to say Fluttershy because she's so empathetic and nurturing and so kind and caring to animals. I think she would be ten times this towards her own young. I could see her being very motherly and affectionate towards them. I think the worst choice would be Rarity and Rainbow Dash because rarity is too caught up in her career to even think about children, and Rainbow Dash is a bit full of herself to ever think of becoming a parent.

Applejack would be great because, she has the nurturing feel and tends to be the one where you can easily talk to. She could easily handle her child with a lot of backbone.

Fluttershy is too shy and scared, the child would be spoiled, a rebel or insanely shy.

Rarity might have a business and might be one of those mothers who is always busy, or she could settle down and raise her kid fine.

Rainbow Dash has not really matured that much, so she would have to be a little bit more mature, also she would have to show her softer side. But she would raise an aggressive wonderbolt loyal hyper child.  

Pinkie probably would be a really good mother, since she's so cheerful and hyper. Her kids would be lucky They would get an amazing dessert and not turn fat.

Lastly, Twilight would be ok, but she freaks out over small things, and would have to learn how to chill.

I think Fluttershy would spoil her foals / not be able to control them ("The Stare" episode comes to mind)

Rainbow could be okay, I bet if she had a foal she would develop a real soft spot for him/her. :3

Twilight would be okay, but might get to preoccupied in her studies ("Spike at Your Service" comes to mind)

Applejack would be good, I think, but she might not have had any first-hoof experience with her own Mother growing up.

Pinkie Pie would be at least decent, we saw how she matured in "Baby Cakes."

Rarity would be the best, in my opinion. She's kind and generous, but know when to put her hoof down.

Well, Applejack is by far the most developed character. already having big responsabilities and handling them well. So yeah, I'd say Applejack. Twilight would do as well.

Well for me it would have to be fluttershy,because of how good she is with animals,she problably would be good as a mom!!!More than likely I'll choose Fluttershy

Honestly I think it would be Fluttershy. Because, of her politeness and how she acts around other ponies and animals. I don't know if you guys have seen that one episode when Rarity's sister and her friends want to have a sleepover but, Rarity can't because, she's making dress so Fluttershy offers to watch them. and It actually turns out good in the end .

I would say Applejack would do the best job at this point in time. She's the most levelheaded and mature of the group. She has been shown to be pretty good with kids. She's also very responsible. I think she would do a good job.

 

Eventually, they all would probably be good parents. They just have some growing up to do.
