People all ages watching MLP FiM?

I've noticed that a lot of people, especially adults have been watching My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. The internet is why. Adults have been searching up information about it. These things called "bronies" really inspire them. Even Lauren Faust thinks so, too. I even think they inspire me.

My Little Pony FiM is really popular. On older MLP, fewer adults were attracted.

So, why do you think this is happening?

MLP is a kid show. Not trying to be rude. :)

Honestly I'd say it's because Lauren Faust helped out alot in terms of actually enjoyable characters and a world that's so easy to love. Alot of us older fans would even say our love for Powerpuff Girls/Foster's Home is what drove us to give MLP:FIM a shot in the first place.

Just 'cause the characters are so lovable, for me, anyways.

All fiction is about getting immersed in another world and enjoying it. It's just a really enjoyable world, that does a very good job of immersion, and has lovable, believable characters.

It may originally be intended for children, but Lauren Faust said in her own words, she aimed to make it enjoyable for everyone, and so far, HASBRO has been faithful to that.

After all, they've made lots of references and nods that no children would ever catch...

EDIT:

Also, for me, anyways, I'm kinda tired of most TV. It's just all the same. But MLP is really unique, it's original, I guess, so it doesn't get blurred in with all the other stuff on TV.

And once again, the characters are just ingenious, the range of personalities and how they interact is what makes the show, IMO. I mean, that's what made Star Trek TNG so neat for me, anyways, was the mix of sci fi world and the characters. That's what made Avatar:TLA so neat, the characters and awesome world.

They're ponies this time, but so what? They're characters.

My grandma watches it and my 2 yr old cousin watches it. In my family age clearly doesn't matter.

Quite interesting.

Personally, I love this show because it has its witty humor and very in depth characters with very good animation. It reminds me of something along the lines of the PPG for dialogue and like an anime in terms of animation. That is why all ages can enjoy this lovely show. In fact, the popularity for it is still growing at a high rate. I predict this show will have at least a 5th season -- until then, let's make the show even stronger!

I actually LOVE My Little Pony FiM, becuase it's a very nice show to watch, it seems so new and colorful that the older ones. I think this one is more clear and has more exciting things in it. Everyday is a new day for them, and the characters are so active in the show. They even have their own Elements of Harmony. :)

I don't see why they wouldn't. The show is good, like really freaking good, and a million times better than any show I've seen that's supposedly 'intended for little girls'- I know wouldn't still be watching the show if it wasn't as good as it is.

Yes. It's true that people different ages are watching My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. It's because the show is incredibly popular. Why? Well, the show is more different than the version before, and more activities and the more fun and interesting stuff come along with it. As you can see, the characters are more different than the old ones. Names of ponies had changed. There are these things called "bronies" that are really on the internet, your right. It's being more popular, in each and every different state. Some states, most likely not others. :)

I think it's because of the great characterization and story telling. The characters all have personalities that clash, but they somehow pull off being six very good friends, and we relate that with our own life. The reason I gave MLP: FiM a try in the first place is because I found out Lauren Faust created it, the same creator behind Powerpuff Girls and Foster's.

There are people of all ages watching this show because of great characters, relatable situations, amazing songs and animation, and overall feel good atmosphere. Plus, Lauren Faust had a hand in creating it, which attracted a lot of fans of her earlier work.

The show's nostalgic references to relevant content for a larger audience and simple way of portraying a positive outlook through great characterization probably contribute to its popularity among vast age groups. I know it’s definitely one of the reasons why I’ll continue watching the show.

I grew up thinking, and knowing, MLP was for little girls. Even the commercials haunted me. Tea parties, rainbows, and pink everywhere were just girly and stuff. Saying FiM is only for little kids is pretty wrong. Its the same with Spongebob Squarepants, its targeted mostly towards kids, but it has some adult humor to it too.

I think everybody else said it pretty well, there's a lot of nostalgia in it. For me, it brongs back fond memories of my childhood. Like in S02 E8, "the Mysterious Mare Do Well" I knew Exactly who "the Mysterious Mare Do Well" was based on, Darkwing Duck. My brother and sister didn't know, but they were born in 1995 and 2000, so they never really had the chance to watch Darkwing Duck like I did. Twilight Sparkle turning into Rapidash, some people have a hard time noticing that, for me, and many who've grown up with Pokemon, well, we know.

Its also nice to see that the characters are all unique. Rainbow Dash isn't one who likes tea parties, and even though Pinkie Pie is... pink, she's still pretty funny, and its nice seeing some of the references to Warner Brothers cartoons.

TL:DR, yeah, its targeted at little girls, but there's enough in it to satisfy even older viewers.

It has references a lot of little kids would have just go straight over their heads. The soap box, breaking the fourth wall...And in response to many a commentor...It's true. I am sick of violance and no plot and zero characterization. As soon as the creators of certian shows see a show get popular and out shine one of their dumb shows for these ones it gets the boot immedietly. My BabySitter's a Vampire and Naruto: Shippuden recieved these cuts because they out popularized stuff and Naruto couldn't get anymore censored without it being 'babyto'. *shot*

Anyways it's because it's fresh, the art style has an anime feel to it, the characters feel human despite their pony forms and there's such care and love put into it.

And Rainbow Dash duh I mean it's got a lot of heart...And there's no sign of it going anywhere and it has such light hearted humor. Plus I was surprised when watching Mare in the Moon part 2 to hear Twilight list off the elements and then: "Magic" come up. That pleasantly surprised me as now adays most mention of magic get's soccer moms into a tizzy.

I kept coming back for more. I think the only other shows I know of besides an anime with these key points about characters, plots and such were from earlier times like: Get Ed, WITCH, Pucca even and Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! (I loved that show so effin' much cause it was just plain different.) And last but not least PowerPuffGirl's. Heck that one had done so well it was recreated in Japanese as a hit anime series.

FIM is one of those rare gems in tody's TV. The ponies aren't rushing through highschool, or dealing with needing to find a boyfriend or "oh my god EDWARD IS SO SPARKLY I MUST MARRY HIM" sort of stuff. They're good characters and the show's messages are nice to hear every once in awhile. It's nice to get a reminder of that in a world full of bullying.

I'm tired...I'm goin' to bed...I think I spilled too many inner thoughts..G'night.
