I like pony music.

But, no, seriously, I enjoy pretty much all genres. I prefer indie music, though. A lot of popular music (at least in the U.S.) just doesn't appeal to me and I'd much rather not deal with large music corporations. I'd much rather give my money to someone like Johnathon Coulton who produces his own work or pony artists.

Coulton's a beast. You have good taste.

Did someone say Friendship Brigade?

I mostly listen to movie or game soundtracks, but also any instrumentals I can find. I've never been a fan of vocals and they only work in rare instances for me. My favorite soundtrack would have to be either the Titanic soundtrack or the Pokemon Black & White soundtrack.

Okay, let's talk dream instruments.

I believe you were probably meaning to post this in the other music topic?

Either way, since I'm a wind instrument player there aren't too many famous instruments that are sought after.

So I'll just say my dream instruments right now are just really general: I want a tenor saxophone, and maybe an English horn.

America

They were my favorite band a few years back. They came to my local city last night but I couldn't go see them. It made me very sad. =(

Weird combination for me, but I like electronic songs and country. I find it a bit odd myself.

Years ago, back in junior high, I used to listen to nothing but country and rap.

  • 3 weeks later...

So i thought as we have a 'greatest game genre of all time' topic i'd start this topic...

My favorite genres at the moment are:

Almost all genres in EDM (Electronic dance music) though mostly hard dance music.

heavy metal, and some oldskool rock, like guns 'n roses m/

As a glowstringer, I'm completely in love with trance and electro-pop. I'm also into emotional piano music (not so much a genre, but I love the sound of somepony pouring their heart into playing the piano). But I love pretty much anything that's fast and bouncy that can get me dancing ;)

Sadly, no. I've made a good number of videos with some friends, but I haven't uploaded anything. And you should totally try it! It's the most amazing feeling when you're in sync with the music and you can just go crazy with different tricks lol. I've been into it for almost a year now, but I'm still going at it ;)

As I put in the original Music topic:

My favorites are probably classical, progressive rock (especially jazz-influenced), some classic rock, soft rock, and Baroque/Chamber pop.

But overall I really like two things in popular music: strong classical/jazz influence, and wind instruments (no shocker there, right? lol).

Should probably elaborate on classical, though. My favorite types of classical are Impressionist, Renaissance (choral), Baroque, and Classical. I'd say that's about right in order.

I really like anything. I used to hate rap, metal, and country, but now I don't mind them. The only genre that bothers me is pop. Some is okay, like older stuff, (Micheal Jackson, Elton John) but this crap that's spewing out of the pop singer now is just plain stupid. All of this Disney finding teens with "talent" and producing an album with them is just retarded. Most of those kids are just average singers that get the shit auto-tuned out of them. Now, I hate JB, but he is an alright singer. His songs are annoying though, and almost all the same...

Anyway, music = good.

Annoying machine-generated dribble = just no

Why are you dragging your cursor over my signature? Is there a problem here? Do you maybe expect something special? Honestly, that's kind of creepy. Are you trying to get as much information about me as possible? Maybe you're going to copy and paste this into onto your little collage or all things Lyra? (me, not the awesome BG pony...) You seriously have issues dude... I pity you.

I tend to like more than I dislike.

Rock, rap, classical, country, techno, pop, and many of their respective subgenres.

I tend to dislike music that has a lot of screaming, growling, whining, or lyrics that try too damn hard to be shocking or 'hardcore'
