Anybody going to see 50 Shades of Gray? I'm totally not going to!  You'd have to pay me a heck of a lot to sit through that. I tortured myself enough reading the book. The "hero" in that is a creepy abusive stalker. Peddling that sort of junk is the sort of thing that makes me hate Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day is alright. Although I wish I could spend it with my SO... but he's almost 400 miles away. :/

 

I have to babysit my brother while my mother and stepdad go out to dinner, of course.

I used to be one of those super obnoxious anti-Valentine's day edgy teenagers ("blah blah HALLMARK HOLIDAY blah blah CAPITALISM blah" you get it.) Now I just use it to treat myself. Make a cup of my favorite tea, sit around in a fuzzy bathrobe, and eat sugar from sunrise to sunset. Then get all the candy on clearance the day after and get super sick.

I'm probably going to hold what I call a Piers Anthony Flag Party with that book. Get a bunch of friends who like terrible literature. Mark all the dirty scenes with differently colored flags (like what you use to study with) and pass the book around. Each person has to pick a color, open to that flag's page, and just start reading completley blind. No backing out.

 

The movie I may or may not consult the internet about.

Most people think you have to be in a relationship to celebrate Valentine's day. It's supposed to be to celebrate who you love. If you love your friends, parents, your pet, etc., Then celebrate that. Why don't you tell them how much they mean to you.Do something special for them. Don't be sad because you don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend. There are other people in your life you can spread love to. It can even be a total stranger. You can buy the meal for the people behind you, or tell someone how much you appreciate what they do. Don't be sad. There's no reason you can't celebrate Valentine's day.

I will be celebrating my love for my parents like I usually do, but I actually recently found a significant other of a romantic nature. Really didn't expect it to happen: I could almost call it a miracle, because I've been very lonely in that department for a long time. Due to my issues with insecurity and the high (sometimes obscene) standards I set for myself I ended up believing that no woman would like me that way. I still have trouble believing that a woman does feel that way about me for who I am, but it's happening.

 

It's a long-distance relationship so I can't do much that's special for Valentine's Day. I'll just try to talk to her like I usually do but make a point to let her know how much she means to me.

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH for this! That book was AWFUL and not even good awful. Just bloody &^%$ing awful. I am HALF the author's age and I can write better smut. I mean, really! That book made me want to THROW THINGS. Then again, it did start out as a bad Twilight fanfic. I am the ONLY sane women at my workplace apparently. Because my coworkers were all, "OMG this book is amazing! You're going to LOVE IT!" And I'm like, "You wouldn't know good writing if it bit you on the butt."

 

Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day, my lovelies!

 

I'm not much into it myself...But I like the part where I can go get half-priced chocolate after it's over. My cat is actually my valentine. But only if she feels like it.

I'd never particularly liked Valentine's Day, I was more neutral towards it. Now though I have a hatred for it -_- From now on it'll just remind me of what I lost I can never feel happy or lucky to be a single on that day again

So... This happened:

I had a dream where I was laying on the grass next to the girl I have a crush on. It was great.

Suddenly I wake up, stared at my phone and realized that today was Valentine's day. Feels start to kick in so I decide to go out and drink something. Of course, it was full of couples, but I didn't mind that much.

I must have been an unfathomable prick during past lives, since I don't remember doing something to reserve witnessing how the girl I liked sat on a table right in front of me with her new boyfriend.

So our family is usually really excited about V Day. We always buy each other gifts and stuff, and my mom and her fiance are going out to a show while I stay home and watch Netflix. They got each other gifts and stuff, and I am kinda mad because I didn't get anything from anybody. All my friends are bragging about the stuff they got and I'm home alone watching Netflix...

 

Is it selfish that I'm sad that I got nothing? Or am I being reasonable?
