I played League back when I had a really crappy computer and that computer just stopped working at one point. I now use a different computer that's still pretty crappy, but I decided to download LoL today. ANd I'm having a blast! I made a new account and started fro scratch, not that my old account was a very high level. But yea, my summoner name is Fancy Viking, in case anyone wanted to know.

Ah, League, I think, is like the one and only game I keep playing ... well, you could say regularly, you could say, for an extended period of time. Meaning, when I'm bored, I launch it for fun.

 

Decided to play some ARAM's some time ago. Getting Quadra or Penta isn't that hard in there.

 

But the fact I've achieved these two at once in ~80 seconds is something worth remembering for me.

 

 

 

 

Anywho, since my PC is extremely weak and loading takes forever, I just play from time to time. Nothing more than that.

AHHHHHHH NEW TRINITY FORCE IS TOO GOOD <3 I've been playing a lot of Ez again lately, primarily because new Tri-Force, and I feel like I've been doing at least halfway decently. I've been having a huge string of bad games though. I've been shunted into Bronze 1 since I finally decided to play some ranked. I want Victorious Elise, but I doubt I'll even get out of bronze. My last ranked game, jungle Naut kept trying to pull enemies through walls and Kayle kept focusing Singed instead of the Caitlyn or Fiddlesticks.

 

Also, on a Tri-Force note: Ez with Merc Treads of Furor and a Trinity Force can outrun an ulting Singed as long as he has mana

Well, i played a ranked game today, just to prevent myself from decaying for a while, i'm still silver 4, i was gonna try and dedicate myself to getting out, but its just so frustrating, and i'm just so bad, people are far from kind in ranked either :/.

 

And i'm really just not good enough.

 

So yeah, i've kinda given up to be perfectly honest, i don't think i'll ever make it anywhere much in ranked :/.

Also, on a Tri-Force note: Ez with Merc Treads of Furor and a Trinity Force can outrun an ulting Singed as long as he has mana 

 

Ez with Ice-Born (which also proc's Sheen effects, gives ridiculous amount of armor, some CDR bonus and decent mana pool) outruns him without any issues. Though that's directed towards MM Ez with ToG to start with, since building it without Muramasa is rather not effective. Yet, once you activate MM, the damaga skyrockets if you have the mana.

I used to get frozen fist on him all the time, i just like the 200% base AD bonus damage over the 150%. I would get it if i was losing my lane, though, that actually hasnt happened since i started play Ez again xD.

 

I actually forget to buy tear on him a lot lately, but ive found out i don't really need it any more >.<

 

Also, if anyone is down to play with me and a friend like all day tomorrow on EUW, add Lord Eavath.

So after being isolated to the northern reaches of ontario with no internet all summer i'm finally back and playing league/using the forums again! my ELO decayed from silver I to silver IV while i was gone and i want to get to gold before season 3 ends. so far i managed to double rank from silver IV to silver II and im 34 LP into that. looking forward to playing with you all!

I wish I was better at LoL I love the game but I'm not very good at it, especially with new champions, and people don't seem to understand that I'm a low level and have only played maybe 10-15 games. I swear everyone I play with is a smurf, I'm just gonna play against bots from now on.

Part of me would love to enjoy this game so that I can join the crowds of people playing it. But the community poses two problems to me.

 

A: I don't want to join games filled with racists, homophobes, and angry people intolerant towards newbies.

B: I don't want to in any way support a game that cannot clean up its racists, homophobes, and angry people intolerant towards newbies.

 

Oh, and when I tried it, having an RTS interface for an action game seemed pretty ridiculous. It's not a Warcraft 3 mod anymore, and you only control one unit. why can't we get some more intuitive controls?

Lineage 2, when the game turned from Pay 2 Play into Free 2 Play. It became swarmed with new players. And there's quite a specific class change quest. In order to finish it, you must land a killing blow on a specific monster, which respawned once every 15 seconds or so and killing it took about a minute, maybe 30 sec. What was happening? 100+ people were standing in line awaiting their turn to do it, chatting freely and so on. I've waited about an hour to do so. Thankfully L2 admins were alive and from time to time spawned a swarm of these monsters so that everyone can complete the Q at once.

 

So no, with all due respect, but it's not people in general in games, but people in League of Legends who are so terrible. Even in my opinion it has one of the worst player communities I saw.

It's not that people CAN'T behave, it's simply that in every game i GUARANTEE there are no good thugs out to ruin the experience for others. As for League of Legends, you have to understand that it has a MASSIVE player base and thus, simply by statistics, there are bound to be far more scumbags. Also those players often do poorly and therefore are matched up with newer players, resulting in them getting that impression. I have encountered FAR more courteous and easy going players who are just in it to have fun than i have douchebags.

Evidently you missed my point entirely. I was saying that you clearly don't understand why people like it which you have just reinforced with your post and I said that was fair enough. Also you seem to just be stating the given, of course it exists because it started as a Warcraft mod. That's not just your opinion, it's a fact, and it paved the way for many more games in the genre. If you don't like MOBA games, no worries, but don't speak of "exclusionary talk" because you excluded yourself already when you said you didn't like the interface in the same way LoL players do.

I just tried Poppy last night and besides her horribly ugly art I can't see why people hate her so much. I mean, her ulti is a pain if you're trying to hide behind a turret and she dives you (especially with the huge damage bonus she gets with it, it takes a few hits or less and you're dead), but I thought that she was pretty easy to play and had a solid kit. However, I seem to be the only one that actually enjoyed her. I really like Galio, trying him on free rotation this week, and he's really fun, his style kind of makes me think of Diana, one of my favourites. Liked his backstory too. :-)

Well, I'm always happy to help out absolutely anybody and the best way to get better at the game is to keep playing against other people. Yes, there's a lot of smurfs, most of which are of people who don't professionally play, might I add, and so many of them have the complex that they are automatically better than anybody else. And the quickest way to do what a smurf is supposed to do(get to level 30, go into ranked), is to actually play bot matches on Twisted Treeline. So the smurfs you are playing against are really people trying to make themselves feel good about themselves due to the range of difficulty they are in being a hard time for them regardless.(I understand this isn't always the case, but generally if you wish to try something new out, you should just be trying it out on your account, regardless of the circumstances. Yes, you will have to try it a multitude of times, but eventually you start realizing if it works or not.)

The biggest problem with this talk about jerks and the like, particularly in League of Legends is the fact that in every game, because of how the entire community of Warcraft 3 has been in the original DotA, people would start to get mad at themselves over their failures.

Some of these people had a lack of thick skin, so they would start raging in general and try to find blame where possible to reduce their negative feelings.

Eventually this ends up targeting another person, who may or may not be thick-skinned.

Since so many people do this, eventually all of the pressure and negative tendencies will start getting at the people who are even the most thick-skinned, causing them to erupt and that causes EVEN MORE people to go raging.

 

The reason this isn't as prevalent in games such as Lineage 2 is that it is not a *strictly* cooperative competition game.

In League of Legends, you MUST work with your team or you will not emerge victorious, regardless of which champion you are playing or even your skill level. That factor of competition will lead to a higher tension, which leaves people more vulnerable to negative tendencies.

TL;DR - Rage is a downward spiral, so try to get rid of your rage before playing

Yeah poppy certainly is fun to play, and I agree about her artwork, she's well overdue for a new splash. There are plenty of people I know who play her regularly and quite well but I'll admit she's not very popular in general. The main reason for this is in the current meta, most teams are either based around mass AOE/CC or a strong ranged AD carry (usually both). Because poppy is a very single target oriented melee champion, she doesn't really fit into the meta but she's still fun and can be played competitively if done right.

The main reason Poppy is not played is due to how difficult it can be to lane with her. She can have a horrible early phase due to her lackluster farming capabilities. Most top picks people tend to favor have some kind of sustain, ranged poke, or great farming potential. Some have all of these traits (Such as cho, Jayce, Kayle as a few examples)!

 

Poppy does not have any of that. She has durability, sure. But she has no real way to effectively farm other than to last hit, and she has very high mana costs; so using your abilities to last hit is not always the best answer. She fills a niche role, where if she can get to the late game; she will be quite a threat. If not, she wont fair as well as some other top laners.

 

I am not saying Poppy is a bad pick, but she is a very picky champion to use. You can't use her for most situations like some other top laners. You have to pick her smartly.

Had a rather funny game recently. We all know about how people complain on how OP Yi is, and well their happened to be a enemy junglear Yi vsing my Nocturne jungle. And well, it basically went down like this.
