Okay so I've wondered for awhile what peoples' least favorite high school year was because I'm going into 10th grade in a couple weeks and I heard that freshman year was the worst for some, best for others. It was good for me though.
So what was your least favorite year of high school and why?

Well, everyone agrees with me so far. I'd say sophmore, because I was still an underclassman, but it was still really difficult. However, it really depends on your personality. Most people think it's Junior year.

So hard to choose since all four years were horrible, but 9th grade was the worst. It's mainly because I was new there and didn't know where to go or what to do. Add the fact I was already antisocial and had no friends and it just made the experience even worse. Also, as a freshman, you are a easy target for bullies, especially if you are a bully magnet like me.

i hated the people in my grade 12/year 9 because they ridiculed me alot for my looks and personality and even my disability

so over time that caused me to be an asshole to people in real life.

Probably either grade 10 or 12. In grade 10, I just moved to a new high school and I didn't know anyone besides my best friend who coincidentally moved with me. It was difficult transitioning because in the prior school, I knew every student and teacher. This new environment wasn't nearly as friendly, small or community oriented which really screwed around with me for a while.

As for why grade 12 might be the worst, thats when I discovered the less innocent side of my pupils. I discovered that they were all gossiping behind each others' backs and that they were hardly as nice as I first saw them. I closed pretty much all connections I had with them after graduation. I was especially hurt when I discovered someone that I considered a good friend for all throughout grades 10-12 had been secretly mocking me behind my back with the "cool kids."

Ultimate decision: grade 12. Pretty much all of 10-12 was a disaster anyway. Currently working through college and I've begun to repair some of the damage.

Mine was freshman year without a doubt. I had just transferred from a different school system and knew absolutely no one, and I was that awkward nerd that no one wanted to talk to or be around. I got a whole lunch table to myself, or I sat in the corner of the band room alone. It sucked, and I didn't get any friends till my sophomore year when I joined marching band.

I'm a senior this year, and I love high school now. There's no drama, because I know how to choose friends wisely.

They're all equally boring. In 9th grade I had a lot more friends, and school is so much better with friends. Last year (11th grade) I only had a few  friends, and I had NO classes with any friends. I hate being in a class where everybody is friends, except you. I'm just the loner in the corner. Having friends in classes makes it so much more bearable. I really hope 12th grade isn't so damn boring as 11th was.

Idk I'm going into sophomore year to. Freshman year was certainly very stressful, the transition was kinda hard, but maybe the fact I was homeschooled until I went into 8th grade. So I was just finished adjusting before we moved again.

That said I dunno, sophomore year has this feeling it'll be hard.

9th grade easy. I just came to school, did school work, ate lunch, and go home. I had friends I guess, but I really only talked to people since 10th grade.

Come to think of it my year last year kinda fits this xD I did have friends but only two and I didn't talk too much. Kinda alone most the time but eeh i liked my year okay. Much better than middle school at least. Hope that I can get to talk to more people later on and not be so awkward and shy and stuff :/

Junior year was probably the worst for me. But the workload was fine, it was actually because my two best friends just stopped talking to me. Seeing as I am very non-confrontational and I always felt like I was an annoyance to them, I just accepted it and I haven't talked to them, or really anyone at my school, since.

For me, tenth grade is really hard but easy at the same time. In 9th grade, its totally laid back and you don't have as much work. In fact, its much easier then even some of the middle school courses in a way. But this is BAD, very bad.

In fact, being this laid back is HORRENDOUS.

That's what made 10th so hard. You MUST remove the 9th grade from your mind, because it sneaks up on you way too quickly. I know this sadly. I thought 10th wasn't going to be as hard as it was, but that hurt in the end. (Though, it didn't help I moved, had problems and the teacher problem.)

As long as you don't make my mistake (it also didn't help that I just wanted everything to end after November, I just don't know why I can't motivate myself through that year. Its strange) and you signed up for classes you wanted, you'll be okay.

(It kind of sucked that they read Hunger Games and we had to read one boring book...that I read before everyone else..)

Toss up between Freshman and Sophmore year. Sophmore year had all the tough classes, Chemistry+My first AP class are not a good mix at all. But Freshman year I had to deal with more assholes, so I guess Freshman year is worse

True, 9th grade was pretty easy.

The fact that we're not gonna get the newbie treatment anymore as sophomores kinda sucks, but that said it hopefully won't be to hard. I can only take so much work. :/.

Hopefully i'll stay sane.

The one thing about 10th grade that worries me is I have to take biology, which i hate for multiple reasons, one being that I have a phobia sorta with organs and the such, so it might be hard to maneuver around that stuff in that class, but hopefully i can find some way(And I hope I don't have a rude teacher :/.)

Other then that i'm not sure, i have no idea how well i'll do frankly.

Oh and i'm also taking Spanish, which will probably be hard as crap, because i already suck enough at English :/.

Idk, i'm not looking forward to school exactly, plus I still have summer reading, which sucks, because I really don't like reading that much, especially if i'm forced to.

Sophmore year without a doubt, through most of high school I teetered on the edge of being expelled or thrown in prison due to my temper which wasn't helped by the sheer amount of morons and jackasses but that year in particular was when it was at its worst.

You're having some classes I had last year! I had biology and wow i found else with the same phobia ish thing. yeah it was better than i thought it would be. the only really bad part i remember was when we were learning about..worms. like the parasitic kind. and i didn't feel too good and slowly started fainting on my desk. my teacher got me in trouble for "napping" which was really me being all faintish. didn't help that there were animal hearts in the back of the room either.

As for spanish, i had spanish 2 last year (took spanish 1 in 8th) it was my second hardest class. I had a C then F,B, then B+. English was my hardest. Honors English though. I had a C,F,C,B+. or something like that. Maybe spanish was harder idk. But anyways I hope that they won't be that bad! And summer reading.... yeah i was told to be doing that right now but I'm on here instead.

Well, believe me, its better then how 11th grade will feel. I saw people with giant SAT books and packets, its scary. I can't handle reading and comprehending so many words and sort like how they will. Its too much for me.

Bio is just amazing in its own deviousness. Its just genes or sort~ Its nothing like 7th grade "bio" class that you all had. Though, we did deal with food at times that was less then wanted. The only time we ever did something bodily was with chicken livers, and while it was gross, it wasn't gory in all respects. You could have had it worse if you were in honors...

The first week is easy, you won't be marked..and then BAM. MARKS :(  Why must they have so many stairs and levels? That's part of the reason I didn't understand Latin: I was just trying to get there, feel better, and LEAVE. Spanish is easy,  at least here, and its not at all hated like French. Latin is over hated because it was "too hard". If you had a class like Latin, I would suggest it to HELP with English since you can see English words more in Latin.

I'm totally with you on the English bit. Its easy in retrospect, but...

when teachers suck at what they do or make you lose points based on things that, in retrospect makes no sense, then it sucks. (Unless your in dire need to stay home or miss class, you lose points, even if your still in SCHOOL)

We have Bio 10th grade, and its more or less mandatory :/.

I freak out over biology stuff mostly, i mean seeing guts or organs I imidately have to look away, and if someone forces me to look at it then well I just flip out. I hate it, it freaks me out and haunts my nightmares for weeks >_>.

I don't pass out, or atleast i've yet to, but its gross, and i am not going to put up with it. I'll find some way around it i guess :/.

And yeah, spanish is apparently hard, plus Its a class i'll have to study for, when I don't study for classes much normally, since i normally don't really have to.

English is already my worst subject, even if I still get Low B's in it to mid B's sometimes the occasional A for a bit, but still. Spanish will probably be one of my lower classes.

And I don't take honors classes, because I am not smart enough for them, and the work amount is way to much when I'm already in band, i'd like to retain time for me to relax or else risk going berserk crazy.

Oh and summer reading, yeah same here xD. Screw you procrastination. :/.

Yes there were times I felt bad and found an excuse to leave the room, but I loooved learning about how awesome nature and animals and stuff is. Maybe its just cause its a Christian school and we learn about the Christian side of everything but even in 7th grade biology (at a public school) i loved biology. And i loved my biology teacher last year and we didn't disect anything but its a good subject anyways. I had an A all year.

I'm freaking scared to death of Senior project, don't even get me started.. How i am going to think of something when I hardly know what I want to do with my life, and write like 10 pages about it beats me :/. I can hardly write the 3 page research paper or whatever we did freshman year. Not to mention I suck at English.

Bio always scared me more then anything, of course 7th grade "Bio" was scary... Thankfully I was homeschooled and my mom is way more reasonable with alternatives then my teachers will be.

And eh, who knows, some people have told me their schools are grose about it, some not. I guess i'll see.

But that teacher better not expect me to be a rough N tough guy, not all guys can stomach things easily.. :/.

We only have french and spanish, i took spanish since i heard its easier and it seems like it'd be more useful.

I don't miss class ever, unless I really have to. Like on band trips and the one time all year I stayed home because I had a stomach virus. Otherwise I go to school, because I don't wanna play catchup.

Freshmen year definitely I had horrible teachers my classes were all over the place and everyone hates freshmen. But I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy High School I mean I really enjoyed it. I know why I liked it too. I was an Athletic Trainer all 4 years and by bro was in it also so I already had an in a group I could go to a hang out with and I got to go to any sporting event for free! I was also in Student Council my Senior year so that helped too.

But I think the thing that helped the most was the fact that I never got a girlfriend in high school and so I never had to deal with all the drama that came with all that stuff. One of my friends admired me for doing that. I can't tell you how many of my friends had to go through drama because of it. I really just worried about myself and my own problem and not anyone ease's and it felt great I tell you!

I was never really intelligent or anything and i just took the classes that I needed too and got by just fine there weren't many problems with that. A tip for anyone that is going into high school join a club it will be good for you and it'll give you an in. Also don't get worked up over a relationship you're still young and you have the rest of your life to worry about love. This is High School after this your free and can do anything you want

Bio is really simple actually, and depending your teacher, its going to be a blast. For me, I had almost straight A's in the class excluding a few minor Bs that were because of lack of organization. (folder check) That's why I'm also super excited for Health class that is mandatory this year.

Well, I'M supposed to be afraid on the project, but I learned its not so bad. You get it in 11th grade (and I will in March or April I guess) and you, I heard, can do basically anything from extending an old project from a class you had and presenting it with a speech to entering competitions, shadowing, and even just research. You have to get it approved though, but I know what I'M doing at least. Depending on everything, you'll find something you'll love to do. I'm excited since I'm going to enter a contest that involves drawing and writing. These competitions can be college based or even be a school thing. (like participating in something state wide or something)

I had medical reasons to uh, skip, but I couldn't prove it yet. That and I missed due to a field trip.

Good job for not getting into any of that relationship drama! Getting into a relationship is definitely NOT one of my priorities. I have plently of time for that and i agree. I'm young and i should live while i can. If I'm flying solo at least I'm flying free! (just quoting Wicked..) Aaand that there aren't any cute guys at my school. :/ its like really small and I'm in a redneck town where all the guys hunt and i will NOT stand for it! I love deer and i don't want them to die T_T at least not by any guy I'll be dating.

I took health last year, don't have to take it anymore, of course it was easy and I knew most of the info before walking into class, and there wasn't really much gore or guts or anything in it anyways.

I am, because its so intimidating, we have to come up with something to do, get it approved right about it and stuff, its just alot it seems. I mean I can write 10 pages, but thinking of what to write is totally different.

Speaking of job shadows, i think we have to do that to this year, and frankly i still dunno what i wanna do exactly :/.

I have no medical issues really :P. I feel weird since i swear everyone i know has something medical wrong with them, but i got nothing really. (Unless being homeschooled since i was born until i went into 8th counts, which just got me some slack 8th grade year, but not anytime else frankly.) not that i wish i had something, just i feel almost weird for not having something :P.

I haven't dated anyone yet, i'm a guy though, so part of that is more due to me being way to shy to work up courage to go after anyone, but regardless.

If I don't get into any relationships through highschool and college i probably never will, seeing as i'm to shy to go ask anyone outside of people i spend a bunch of time with and get tons of chances with already.

I know alot of other guys who hunt, and girls who date them, but i'm one of the few guys who hasn't and doesn't really care for it, I'd feel kinda bad killing animals to be fair, not that i'm vegetarian even or anything, but doing the killing myself is to messy for my tastes.
