I would pick the future, a time when mankind is colonizing/terraforming planets. Space travel would be common, and robots are everywhere.

If I had to go into the past, I would choose the 50's. The music, the cars, the cheap gas and travel across the US and Canada.

I would so go to the Medieval Ages. I've always wanted to live the life of a knight, dressing up in my awesome looking armor, unsheathing my blade, and riding my loyal steed into battle. My allegiance would be to the king and I would follow the knights code. I would fight and die with honor. Finally, I loved the way everyone spoke back then. I don't care what anyone says, this would be the life. :D

I would transport myself into the future to obtain immortality and knock it off my bucket list for good! :P

If I went back to the past, I would transport myself to the Mesozoic Era with my camera and basically play a real life version of pokemon snap. It would be dangerous as heck, but I think it would be worth it to see these fascinating creatures live again.

"Ah i see, so this is a t-rex! Hows the size... 1000! Excellent! And the pose? It's roaring ferociously! 1400. Hows the technique? The dinosaur is in the middle of the frame. The points have been doubled! Wow! There are more than one of the same type of dinosaur in the picture! 500 extra points. (total: 5800) Well done!"

Now if I could only smuggle prof. Oak with me...

The further back I go the worse it would be, so the only option is ahead, but what if life in the future is some sort of living hell like super advanced global warming or an alien take over. It's to much power

I'd like to travel to the Classical Era (c. 1730-1830) [it's a slight overlap into the Baroque and Romantic Eras, but in a general sense, it's still considered as part of the Classical Era.], to the time when Mozart and great music masters like Bach, Vivaldi, (Joseph and Michael) Haydn, Salieri, Clementi, Beethoven, Rossini, Bellini and Mendelssohn still existed... :)

But I'm contented living in the present, getting to listen to their marvellous and beautiful works on YouTube and such. ;P

given mankind doesn't destroy itself I would go to the future no doubt about it, be nice to see just how far technology can go and to see if my Bills finaly win a super bowl( doubt it) you can keep the past I would so look foward to tomorrow. With my luck though it would be a fallout future lol

I'm not sure exactly which area this is, but when it was very simple, no technology. I would like to experience when times were more, like calm and relaxed. Anyways, it would also be interesting to go to Medieval times, it could be a little scary at times (Ex. seeing execution, well, I can't think of anything else.)

So those are the era's I would choose, I would most likely choose the first one though.  :muffins:

I would travel to the distant future. It would be fascinating to observe the nature of life and, if it exists, technology. The question is, though, which future would I be travelling to? One possibility is that the future has no concrete existence, but could be a collection of possible outcomes that could be explored. These possible outcomes might even be infinite in number. One possible future could be entirely different from another.

However, an important factor to take into consideration is the morality/spirituality of people in the future. One possible future may have advanced technology beyond the farthest extent of my imagination, but if the beings on earth at that time do not know love, what use is all of the technology? Technology, no matter how advanced, is only stuff. Stuff, without soul behind it, is nothing more than dust that will fade with time. Another possible future may feature a civilization that has transcended the need for technology, and knows love to a greater extent than we do today. That ideal, utopian society would have infinitely more to teach us than the other possible future.

i presume we are seeing time in a linear manner rather than as a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff. in that case, i would choose the 60's. they had The Beatles and the space program with NASA. it was also when Doctor Who started. so many awesome things came around in that decade.

Well, I'd choose the future, say, 2196, 2812, 4465, 5002 or 10153, when, I believe, humanity will be terraforming and settling a lot of new planets in many different star systems accross the vastness of space. Then, I would try to volunteer in the space forces as starfighter pilot. xD Yes, the far future would be exiting, I believe... if we don't wipe out ourselves before. ^^

The near future, say 2040 or 2061, meh, no guess what will be happening. Alien invasion, economic collaps, New World Order...

From the past I'll travel into Victorian England. I love the style of those time, culture, language, clothing, architecture, politics etc. The Middle Ages may be exiting too, even if a lot of people tend to highly idealize them. For example, only a selected few could become knights while the entire nobility made up less than one percent of the overall population, most people were simple peasants.

Alex, Alex! You're walking away from history! History! Did Chris Columbus say he wanted to stay home? No! What if the Wright Brothers thought that only birds should fly? And did Galoka think that the Yulus were too ugly to save? -- Centauri to Alex Rogan; "The Last Starfighter" (1984)

Looking back, I can't really think of a time where the world was good enough that I would want to go there.  If anything, I would want to go to the medieval periods of many countries, but when I think about it, I would probably be either executed or cast into extreme poverty.

The future is the only way to travel then.  I'd like to see a time where people get along with each other in peace.  Like that will ever happen...

I would travel back sometime in the US during the early '80s or '90s, just when technology seemed to start taking a massive step forward. From everything I heard, it just seemed like a bright, fun time to live in, and it's a shame I never got to experience it since I was born in '96.

I'm too scared to go to the future, in case we discover a cataclysm or invasion does happen.

I really love the middle ages. However, I wouldn't last very long, due to all of the disease and such.

I would probably choose the 1950's or 1980's. Reasons for this? Because I love mid century stuff. Also, it's just such a fantastic time.

I've always wanted to explore what the far future would look like for humanity. Maybe to be specific, anywhere between the years 2100 to 3000. From a hundred to a thousand years from now. I'd like to see all the possible technological wonders, ideas, and social culture that would arise by then.

I would like to also see my future descendants and maybe some of my friend's future descendants as well. I just hope that my time spent in the era would not be permanent. I'd like to heard back to my time eventually. lol

Then again, the future can be a very dangerous place. Who knows what kind of governmental changes could have been legislated and enforced upon society. It could even be more corrupted. Wars could be more rampant then ever, and terrorism could be mundane.

As well as drastic climate changes, and other major problems that could be occurring in that time period.

I might just take my chances in that case.

If I wanted to go to the past. Definitely the 1950s is where I'll go. Everything was so simple, cheap, and fun back then. (: plus the economy was rich and full of prosperity thanks to the ending of WW2.

I would have to go back to the 70's, for the pot. What? they made some great pots then some great colors and some kickass designs. That and the weed, the weed back then was really good not like now days... I would also go back to when Abraham Lincoln was still alive and shake his hand! he is my hero!

For every reason I can think of for why I'd want to live in a particular era or decade, I can think of at least one reason why I wouldn't that slightly outweighs the positive ones. Fashions and designs of the 40s and 80s appeal to me more than any other in American history. For purely aesthetic reasons I wouldn't mind going to either decade, and I loved the technology I grew up with in the late 80s/early 90s. Unfortunately, there's the racial tensions in the 40s and the technological limitations of both decades that make communication much more difficult. Honestly, I'm content with the present. While I do miss the things of my childhood and even some things that predate my existence, I'm very happy with our modern conveniences that keep us entertained and help us stay in touch, and help us meet people we otherwise would never be able to. Given that the future is always in question, I'm not sure if I can pick a time period ahead of this one that I'd like to live in.

If we're only talking about a visit and not permanent residence, then I'd go with either of the above.
