Are you a fan of dinosaurs?

~Silver Essence~

Recommended Posts

Dinosaurs are creatures that existed millions of years ago in earth, they roamed and lived long before any other era, and man is that mind amazing!

Dinosaurs, next to ponies, are one of my favorite creatures in the world, they're amazing, cool, and just overall outstanding!

So naturally, yes, jurassic park and anything with dinosaurs is something that I will instantly check out, they're that amazing!

So my question is, are you a fan of dinosaurs? If yes, what's your favorite?

If you asked me, the velociraptor has to be my personal favorite, he's fast, cunning, and extremely agile!

The T rex is also a personal favorite of mines since I saw jurassic park as a kid, to this day, I'm still impressed with that scene in jurassic park!

Of course I am! I was obsessed with dinosaurs as a kid. When they asked me what I wanted to grow up to be in kindergarten, I said "Paleontologist" and then had to explain to the other kids what that was, haha. Well... that never actually happened but I go to Drumheller almost every year to visit the Tyrell Museum still, plus I have a few friends there. It's not too big a place population wise but in the summer it is full to the brim with tourists. There's dinosaur statues on every corner, and dinosaur art everywhere you look.

I love all dinos, but my favorite has to be Euoplocephalus. He's awesome cause he's built like a tank, with a huge hammer for a tail, but if you don't mess with him, you should be fine. He's a herbivore after all.

Yeah, Dinosaurs are cool. I absolutely loved them as a kid. I remember having lots of dinosaur toys, and I also have memories of watching Jurassic park all the time. Anyways, I'm not into them as much as I used to be. I did have a dream about dinosaurs last night though, which was fairly weird.

I love them, my brother really loves them too.

The thought of them being around before us and eventually making way for more life in this world is amazing. It's an interesting lesson to be learnt though how quickly life can be wiped out, but how it can recover and find a way.

I love dinosaurs! I think it's super interesting and I have a bunch of dinosaur books. When I was young I had a lot of dinosaur toys, they looked very good,  I wish I knew where they are.

I loved dinosaurs when I was a kid and they still fascinate me a fair bit today. I had books and books on dinosaurs as a kid... I'm sure theyre all still on my shelf actually...

Back in the day, my favourite was Diplodocus because it was the largest dinosaur I knew of at the time. If I knew about Amphicoelias back then, I would have declared it to be my favourite. That thing was freaking huge, estimated to be at around 60 meters long (roughly 200 feet!)

As for now, I think my favourite would be Spinosaurus, because holy crap that thing is terrifying! It's one of the largest carnivores that ever lived and just look at that mouth! It looks like something right out of the monster hunter series! (Found an interesting video on it too)

Nah, they're scary to me. I used to have nightmares about them. lol. I know not all of them were carnivores, but still... I'm glad they aren't around any more.

"Well, it was a night like this, forty million years ago, I lit a cigarette, picked up a monkey, start to go. The sun was spitting fire, the sky was blue as ice. I felt a little tired so I watched Miami Vice. I walked a dinosaur, I walked a dinosaur. Open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur."

That sums up my most extensive experience with dinosaurs, if that answers your question.

Actually that might not be entirely accurate, when I was a bit younger I had one of those dinosaur guide books that tells you about several species.

Dinosaurs are cool and I was/am a huge fan of Turok, but I don't know much about dinosaurs.

I remember a time I could name dozens of dinosaur species at the drop of a hat. Now I'd struggle to even name five of them without internet aid. Let's see. Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops...um, Pterodactyl or however you spell it. Brontosaurus. Um.

...

Four.

Oh, how I miss my carefree youth.

I've always loved dinosaurs. I've also always been fascinated by them, the huge creatures they are. (And the small ones!) I remember over-reading the Magic School Bus dinosaur book when I was younger, because I liked looking at the life sized Tyrannosaurus tooth that was drawn in it.

Ever since I was in Kindergarten, my favourite dinosaur has always been the Ankylosaurus. (And also most of the dinosaurs in the Ankylosaurid species. This one just always was..There in my head.) I remember we went to this little museum thing, and we got to make our favourite dinosaur out of clay. I made a boss Ankylosaur, and, well, yeah.

Ah yes, dinosaurs. Wonderful, wonderful creatures. To say I am a fan would be like calling <INSERT PREFERRED FAVOURITE BAND/SHOW/ANYTHING HERE> "alright"- a massive understatement. I also have quite a knowledge base on dinosaurs, ask me a question and I'll answer it.

I love that song. For those that don't know it, have some Was Not Was.

I think the answer to this question for me is with a question:

Who the heck is NOT a fan of dinosaurs? LOL

I love dinosaurs ever since I saw The Land Before Time as a little girl, I still tear up seeing Little Foot's mother die.

But as live action dinosaurs I love those even more! Jurassic Park defiently an inspiration to keep on loving dinosaurs afterwards. If I could choose one that I love the most though, it'd be the horse or deer of the dinosaur population, the Iquanadon.

iguanodon.jpg

Why him? He can run on all fours as two legs, hes a gentle veggie and I dunno theres just something about him that reminds me of horses or dragons at once hehe.

I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^

I don't have much of an opinion on dinosaurs, honestly.

But, I do suppose that my favorite would be...

Spinosaurus

I think they look awesome and they might be my favorite because when I was younger, I had a molded Spinosaurus toy, and I still have it.

You bet I'm a fan of dinosaurs! Heck, I remember watching Jurassic Park for the first time and loving the part where you see the T-Rex. It looked so awesome and deadly. Just thinking creatures like that once existed on this planet many years ago blows my mind. Still does to this day. Just wow. :o

Hell yeah! I was really into them when I was little, and could name tons of them off the top of my head. I lost a lot of the info about them that I had stored in my head over the years, though.

Did anyone else have those generic plastic dinosaurs that they sold at some stores? I used to have a rainbow-colored T-Rex that I got from Walmart, along with a ton of others.

Oh how I love ruining peoples childhoods B)

The raptors in Jurassic Park are in fact not Velociraptors, despite what the movie calls them. They are actually Deinonychus, a relative of the Velociraptor. Here is the comparison between a Deinonychus and a Velociraptor

248px-Buitreraptor-Deinonychus.jpg

Actual velociraptors would have been way less cool so Hollywood used its much larger cousin and slapped on the name Velolciraptor just to sound cool.

But yes to answer the question, I am a huge fan of dinosaurs. Thought about going into Paleontology actually.

That's actually not technically a dinosaur :P

Ahhhh yes. The dinosaurs. The reptiles that roamed the earth before they were killed by a huge meteor from space, around 137 million years ago.

Why yes, they ARE most indeed, awesome!

(Fun fact, the many pictures here might actually be wrong! New sciences suggests that the dinosaurs might actually have been covered in feathers! It's hard to depict that in your mind eh  :derp: )

I used to like them when I was like six, but then I decided that they were lame. It wasn't until much later that I became fond of cats. I love kittens, too bad I don't have one :,c

Let's say it like that: Instead of watching family movies with my family when I was little, I watched dinosaur documentaries with my dad. And we loved it. xD

So yea, I like dinosaurs. If I would be better in biology, I'd totally study paleontology. Dinosaurs are fascinating creatures, I thought that as a kid and I still do it.

(btw, Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies)
