Drawing Music

(I did a little search to see if this thread already existed, and I found nothing, so if this thread has been done before, y'all mods can remove it or merge it or whatever)

If you're anything like me, you enjoy listening to music while having drawing sessions. This thread is for sharing that music you enjoy whilst drawing.

For me, it's lately been:

and http://ubiktune.bandcamp.com/album/diad

Whenever I do anything productive I usually throw on my playlist which contains mostly techno/dubstep because it gets me motivated to get things done. Here's a track I was listening to last night while drawing:

Seeing that the music you've listed is more calm, you may enjoy this track:

(If I knew how to make these links instead of embedded videos I'd change it to save space.)

I agree that upbeat electronic music or really ANY upbeat music is good motivational stuff, however I find that the more calm and meditative the music, the more brain juices get flowing. Especially if it's really creatively written, like the albums I posted. The creativity is viral, ya might say.

As for the 2nd song you posted... well, meh. It's written well, but the synths and samples bother me a bit. It's not my style, to be honest.

Oh, and you can always put videos in spoilers to save space. Just write [ spoiler] [ /spoiler] without the spaces and put the link inside. :3

The journey soundtrack, from the video game, is incredibly moving and peaceful. I suggest listening to the whole soundtrack. It is AWESOME :D

Well, I don't draw, but more recently when animating in Source Filmmaker, an upbeat tempo from certain tracks tends to keep me working and inspired. A few good examples:

I think that second one I tend to use more for coding, since it has a very sciencey theme to it.

I notice I tend not to like music with lyrics much. Maybe they're too distracting for my mind.

I just have one song for now, but it's a fairly cheerful one and it's quite upbeat~

Found this off a server while playing team fortress two. I've found it to be quite enjoyable when doodling :3

I love my music whilst I draw!  Anything from 'Two Steps from Hell' and 'Immediate' does quite well for me, as they have pieces that range from to calm and somewhat ambient to sweepingly-epic sounds that gets you mind racing.  But, for the most part, I just put my iTunes to random and see what pops up; rather enjoyable that way and quite funny when you finish something like 'Black Blade' from TSFH and goes right to something like ' Giggle at the Ghosties.'

It all depends on the mood I want to be in. I also listen random songs when I'm out of ideas. Anything can turn into an idea for a drawing. I like drawing dark things so upbeat doesn't work for me, unless I make it crazy with a lot of colours and insane characters.

I've actually just sat down to start drawing with this playing:

Anyways, yeah I like to listen to music while I draw, specifically through speakers, I don't know why, but I don't like drawing while I wear headphones.

Here's a new one I just discovered that I'm quite sure I'm going to be using to draw to. It's such an amazingly artistic piece of music.

Funny enough I just downloaded Subsume earlier today, I'll probably listen to the album sometime.

Anyways I found a better Deafheaven performance, you can actually hear his vocals in this one so that's a plus

And also Dance Gavin Dance seem to work well for me whenever I'm drawing
