Do you believe in Horoscopes?

Do you believe what a horoscope reading actually tells you about yourself and the future that lies ahead?

Like, for example:
My sun sign is Pisces, my ruling planets are Neptune and the Moon, and my gemstones are Aquamarine and the Moonstone.

Thoughts? Opinions to be shared?

No.

When you first read a horoscope, you probably read your own sign only.

But, when you start reading the other signs, you realize something:

They're all just generalized statements that would apply to anyone, and usually do happen on a daily basis.

Just meant to sell.

Exactly. It's just a bunch of random statements. They don't mean anything.

I do not believe in horoscopes, and I have a number of reasons why.

First, I'm sure many of us are familiar with the studies/exercises in which an entire group of students are given the same horoscope prediction under different names, and most feel it is accurate anyway. Science doesn't seem to support it.

The constellations, positions of planets, etc. were different when these horoscopes were invented.

I'm president of my university's magic/mythology club, and every year we do predicting the future. Many of my fellow club members are pretty knowledgeable about this and we all seem to agree this is not accurate.

Definitely not, I've read mine quite frequently when i was a kid but as others have already stated, it's nothing more than generalized things that apply to a lot of people, but as kid i was always happy when something happened what the horoscope predicted, well as kid i also believed in santa claus as probably every kid did.

There is a way to predict... no i better call it guess, what might happen to someone in the future if you know the said person very well. I mean nothing like oh in 3 years you'll have an accident or things like that, no, but maybe you know that someone is good at school you can say he'll probably get a good job one day but that has nothing to do with planets or stars and their constellations.

Conclusion: I don't believe in such thing as horoscope

The way they usually work is by being written so vaguely you could go back and match whatever did happen that day up to them and basically squeeze it into the prediction. It's a matter of making statements that could mean ANYTHING so the prediction has a slim chance of being a complete failure.

So in a word, no. I'm not one to discount otherworldly phenomenon, ESP and all that but stuff like mass produced horoscopes and fortunes are usually bullshit, fun bullshit, but bullshit.

The kind of horoscopes that you read I the newspaper magazines, no. They're so vague, I could read any one and find a way to apply it to my life. But that's the point. Because they're sake, they have to be believable.

I mus admit I have a lot of new-age beliefs but I don't think the planets tell us about our lives. To be honest my private life is none of Jupiter's damn business.

Yes I do! Mine, at least. I was trying to Horoscope pony characters and decide which birthday they'd most likely have, and I kinda got frustrated, but I think Horoscopes taught me that it's only really applicable to real people… oh well. Speaking of which, I have an ask page on here that I probably should update. It's about Zodiacs and all that jazz...

Not so much horoscopes but I do believe which sign we are. (Ex. I'm a Pisces) affects our personality traits. For sure.

Nope. I'm a true example horoscope is inaccurate. I've got a twin brother and according to horoscope, we should be same in personality and same future since we are born in same day. We've got opposite personality, and my brother is artistic while I'm more of a science guy(this is another reason I don't believe in horoscope).

Nope, not at all. The arrangement of stars means nothing... As if their arrangement as we see them from our solar system, even less, our planet, could possibly mean anything. The horoscope predictions are all intentionally so vague that it makes it easy for people to fall for them, but there's not even an ounce of truth in them having prediction power.
