what if AJ became a closet fashinista

Now i was thinking of rarity and her number one foil and  my mind wondered to rainbow dashes book episode where she becomes a closet book lover.  and was mortified if anyone found out.

 

Imagine if apple jack awkerd a eye for fashion,

yeah i know in the other thread i didn't wanna see anyone else acting like rarity,

 

but i think it would be hysterical seeing apple jack fighting with it mentally.  Like even going to bed hugging a fru fru dress all blissed out.

I could however imagine her doing something fancy with her hair which she'd feel mocked over seeing as she's a farm pony.

 

After all, AJ did once want to be like Rarity, only in Manehatten, not Canterlot.

I personally think Rainbow Dash is far more likely to be a closeted fashionista than Applejack, Applejack dosen't seem to really care all that much what other ponies think she is a tomboy like Rainbow Dash but has still not show any reluctance to express the more feminine aspects of her personality. Rainbow Dash on the other hand has shown a great deal of insecurities about maintaining her rep and expressing any kind of emotions she does show some subtle signs of a feminine side but has been reluctant to show anything more than that. I even have a fanfic idea about it, in it Rainbow Dash has been dating Thunderlane for maybe a year or so and they have gotten to know each other very well but there is one side of her that she is afraid to show to her friends or to him and that is her more feminine side. If and when I write this I can't really share it here because it will have sex in it, but ti will most likely be on my fimfiction account.

I think Rainbow Dash would be more likely to be a fashionista than AJ . However, she wouldn't call it being a fashionista, she'd call it "looking cool". The one pony most interested in protecting her image is Rainbow Dash. Her dresses wouldn't be as girly as Rarity's, but she'd make clothing that would make her look more badass.

It sounds unlikely, applejack is all about things being as practical as possible, it would go against her personality to like fashion. Rainbow Dash's personality doesn't necessarily make reading the opposite, it's something that she just had to be pushed to start to like.

This would give Applejack a dimension to herself that's outside the usual expectation to her character, kind of like Daring Do did for Rainbow  or Smarty Pants for Twilight. Also, seeing that AJ once wanted to live the life of her aunt and uncle, the idea itself is not absurd.

 

I've never brought into the notion that if someone's more tomboyish or rugged, they don't care about their looks.

Honestly, I don't even think that Applejack is more tomboyish or rugged, she's just a very practical pony, she cares more about how well something functions than how it looks - making fashion an unlikely interest for her.

She has already been willing to wear dresses on special occasions but probably has her own rationalizations about how they are not "girly". There are of course many different ways to be feminine as well as masculine, Rainbow Dash just dosen't realize that yet and dosen't want to own up to that side of her just yet.

It doesn't fit her personality, feels forced, and doesn't solve her lack of characterization.
