And this doesn't mean Flitter is going to be eliminated. If she doesn't lose the last two rounds, she still has a chance.

The key matchup ends with a win for Angel over Flitter. Flitter had the initial lead, but Angel stormed back in the second half. Flitter is now unable to take group winner, but she can still qualify for the World Cup as Group A runner up should things go well.

Soarin and Dr. Whooves are set for a draw if things don't change. Same goes for Nurse Redheart and Roseluck... 

Just wanted to say that the matchup between Dr. Whooves and Soarin (currently tied), along with Pinkie Pie and Octavia (58-44) are prime examples of MLPF World Cup games. That's what you should expect for most of the groups by the actual tournament.

I just wanna remind you guys to look at the standings for the tournament here. It's where all the results of voting go into play. You can analyze your next moves in trying to get your favourite characters to the World Cup by influencing the other games. 

 

I said this once, and I'll say it again. Only main characters and famous background ponies will survive. Everyone else loses, good game, Mane 6 wins by landslide. That's how it's going to end.

And everyone leaves pissed and angry.

 

Well the World Cup's a fight between the best ponies. If they're the main characters and famous background ponies, then so be it. In fact, voting shows that a lot of people will be really happy at that. Increase competition and maintain integrity. Wouldn't want the World Cup to feature a minnow like Slovenia over a team like Germany or Italy right?

A bit off-topic, but it would be more like Germany vs. Azerbaijan. At least Slovenia is a developed and somewhat known country, along with most of Eastern Europe.
