Nah 3,182 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 Yes, I would love to see how different times were, especially before ponies! If I did, I would go to the civil war to just see the battles for myself. Also this should be a poll.

Gingerpotato 889 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 Nope, I love technology, I love MLP, I love my family, I love my friends, I love my life and I love my fancy food too much to just leave it to travel into the past. Sure, it'd be fun for a while but then you'd start to realize how far society has evolved in 200 years and how much you miss 'the good new' days'
Skar 324 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 Nope, but if I was able to go to the 1600s I would. I would totally be a knight. 1 Sig made by Yours Truly. Want one of your own? PM Me! cuteycindyhoney 13,315 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 NO WAY! There were not so many opportunities for women back then. They also didn't have much in the way of dentistry and medicine. 3 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
Strafe 594 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 I'd rather travel to the 2800s and find that the human race was overran by talking ponies. "The Gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again." Emerald Flame 381 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 It depends. If I could meet someone from the 1800's who helped to shape history, then I'd go on a temporary trip. If I don't get to meet anyone or if I'm stuck there forever, then I'm staying put.

Silverhoof 2,844 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 No air conditioning. No dishwashers. no modern medicine (people died young). heres a biggie: a 6 day workweek! No worker's rights. no vacations. No. Zip. Nada. Not happening. I might consider going back to the 50's or 70's and living. But now is a good time for me as well. Fizz. 1,078 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 I was gonna talk about the sanitation and ridiculous laws and lack of education...but then I realize the Ottoman Empire existed during this time.... Envy 6,192 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 (edited) HELL NO. I am so disgusted by our current society's intolerance, discrimination, and over-religiosity. Living in the 1800's would be a nightmare for me, because it makes today's society look like paradise. In fact, today's society IS paradise compared to then. Killian Jones 2,655 March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 As an investigator of things, for a small while, I would. I couldn't stay for long. I would also be thrown on a fire or something, because I am magic.
Sekr Gray 520 August 6, 2016 Share August 6, 2016 If I was simply transported with my current knowledge and general skills, then sure. I could easily make a small living as a craftsman, peddling wares as I move across a country. (Of course, this is assuming I'm allowed to choose where I live. If I get stuck in 1840 Ireland, I'm a goner ). Plus, if I could keep all my current knowledge, I might be able to sell myself off as a "psychic", predicting the future, which is really just me knowing a lot about local history. I'd also leave behind a intricately detailed journal for future historians, because we never know enough firsthand. Mind you, I'm also pagan, so I'll likely be tied to a stake or run out of town more often than not, but hey, it'll be "fun" right?
Thuja 3,659 August 6, 2016 Share August 6, 2016 I'd rather travel into the future and see what happens there, I wouldn't want to go into the past. Nope.
Corgis 574 August 6, 2016 Share August 6, 2016 I know this thread is super old but it honestly depends on what part of the 1800's we are talking about here. I would probably go back if it would be between 1870-1899 but any further then that I would not. There were just so much infections going around at that time like Cholera that it would be hard to live past the age of 50. Having a proper education and a knowledge of the future would put you at a huge advantage so it would be easy to make lots of money.
That Guy with the CMB 5,873 August 6, 2016 Share August 6, 2016 (edited) Uh, probably not. As peaceful and lovely as it sounds, think about our small medical knowledge back then. If something were to happen to me, I'd be doomed. Also, you never know how I could have been treated by society back then, for one reason or another. Also, I'd rather not purposely lose all the people and things I love, thank you very much. c; Edited August 6, 2016 by Eazyfries Romans 10:
