Bronies Against Bullying

Aquaryan

Recommended Posts

I created the character through the pony generator on Deviantart, but I designed this picture from it.

Bullying is a serious issue in my life, so I do speak out against bullying whenever possible.

Bullying is not confined to children, as adults can be faced with bullying.

I'd love to know how to help take a stance against bullying. I can't stand watching inconsiderate, myopic people torture others like that.

I will bear arms against these vagabonds!

Seriously though, we need to stop bullying, it's a horrible thing to see or go through :(

I really hate bullying. It hasn't happened to me since 6th grade, but I do get the occasional jokes made about me liking ponies and being 16. It's quite annoying, I can take a joke, but not when it's putting others down for what they like or who they are. We all seriously need to take a stance against bulling, because a lot of people mindlessly walk by when it's happening and do nothing about it.

As an adult, I admit that I have gone a lifetime with someone bullying me.  My previous job, the owner was worse than a bully. He was abusive monster who went out of his way to make my life miserable.  He denied me over $8,000 in wages and NO ONE would verify that I worked these hours because they were afraid to stand up to him. I did stand up to him, which made him treat me horribly.  My current job is dealing with immaturity on the owner and his kids part.

So, I know what the kids are going through, today.  I know what it is like for people to stand by and do nothing.

Parents seem to understand discipline even less than their kids do, if someone is brought up in an environment where they aren't shown how to tell right from wrong then when they have kids they too end up not knowing the two from eachother. It's an endless loop that needs to be stopped by stamping out the ignorance that precedes it.

I have not been bullied, but have seen it happen. I feel that sort of pain you get when, say, you are playing a video game and your character dies in the most horrifying way possible. Or you're watching a movie and the dog dies. I try to stand up to it and go tell a teacher or something, but they do absolutely nothing about it. The only reason I'm not bullied is because I don't stand up to them directly, and I don't talk to anypony except who I am 100% positive I can trust. I feel like there should be a surefire way to stop it, but I haven't figured that one out yet.

  • 2 weeks later...

oh well.. luckily i never had this problems.... i can say that i was a kind of passive nully.. if someone started to get on me.. i would just beat him... yeah... peoples change guys.. i am no more like that (still, touch my friend and then you will be sent to  the hosptial... and i am driving the ambulance because first i'll beat you, then being a paramedic i am forced from my promise to aid you) anyway, anyway i don't know how it works there in America, but here in Italy, there just were an informal "squad" that basically rounded the school on breaks checking and reporting (even with force) stupid persons.. and i gotta say that it worked like a charm...

I know most everyone here is going to find what I am about to say is cold hearted.

While bullying can get out of hand sometimes. It is a part of life.

Just some people need to learn to hide what is controversial that gets them picked on. If you flaunt it everywhere, you are just asking for it. How does that saying go? "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down." Yeah, they are not kidding, this has been proven time and time again, and there is infinite number of ways to explain that saying is true.

But also, if you give them a reaction to them bullying you, or making fun of you, you are just driving them to do it more. Same with internet trolls, you feed them, and they just keep coming back for more. If you act like you don't care about their jokes, they are eventually going to give up.

I can't say I was ever really bullied in school, sure people made fun of me sometimes, but I chose to ignore it and they never tried again. Plus I always kept a low profile, I rarely talked, and only talked to friends, or people I noticed having similar interests. Though I was a complete pest in Middle School, and got punched in the face, and slammed to the floor, but I deserved those. But after that I went back to my quiet, reserved self and stopped bothering people.

No one is driven to suicide just from being bullied, they have to have already established mental problems that are most likely undiagnosed. To have suicidal thoughts THAT young, there is something wrong.

I have only ever been driven to suicidal thoughts once, it was during high school, I had a headache that didn't stop for 2-3 weeks, and I thought there was something seriously wrong with me, and self diagnosing myself from things on the internet, drove me deeper, and deeper into a depression, then even when I realized I was over reacting, everything that hinted at death or suffering, or disease made me majorly depressed. This went on for months, and after being on anti-depressants for a while, I eased out of it, then just stopped taking the anti-depressants all together and I have been fine ever since. Granted I still get depressed when I realize I am 23, and have never had a girlfriend, and already have friends that are engaged, or married already. But that is just natural thing for us humans to be depressed about, and I don't let it drive me into the ground.

I have learned NOT to dwell on anything, don't stay with your own thoughts for too long or you start to overthink things.

I think you might have mis-understood me.

What I meant was to just ignore the bullies.

IGNORE THEM? Okay, I'm sorry but my life has been completely ruined by bullying. Because of bullying I failed school, and I suffer severe social anxiety. I was bullied because I was fucking quiet. I never harmed anyone and I was too bloody nice for my own good. You can NOT ignore bullies, that NEVER works. Don't give people that advice, because you know nothing about bullying unless you have experienced it.

I never did anything to anyone and I was beat up, shoved around, people threw food, drinks over me and called me names and this was on the way to school, in school and even in class. It never stopped. Right now I am seeing a psychologist because of my problems, and ALL of them originate from when I was bullied.

You also said that if you act like you don't care they stop. Bullshit, no they do not. I didn't even once give them any reaction at all, I barely bloody said a word EVER, because I was so terrified. I got beat up for nothing, and my pain and suffering has completely ruined everything for me. I never actually got the chance to learn, because it never stopped. So when I finally moved school, I didn't actually have the skills you learn when you are younger to learn properly. I failed every single exam, and then I had to drop out.

I spend my days in my house literally 24/7 and I barely leave because of my anxiety.

Sorry for my less than civilized reaction, but what you said just made me so angry because you haven't been there.

Hence the "Plan B" I mentioned above.
