That site is pretty stupid.

I thought being a Brony is all about love and tolerance?

Ya know, even though someone may be different, we are still kind and tolerant. Right?

That's not what the people running that site are doing.

 

I'm tired of us Bronies having such a bad/weird reputation, but it's not the fault of the cloppers.

It's because many people are ignorant and narrow-minded.

Even if this fandom didn't have cloppers ever at all, people looking at us from the outside would still think that our love of ponies is somehow sexual.

 

And I don't see how they can "get rid" of cloppers.

How (besides genocide) are you going to get rid of an entire group of people?

 

(Also, let's not fight amongst ourselves. It looks quite foolish.)

Essentially, I don't care if you have weird fetishes because I shouldn't even know about it. The only way I would is if you told me. Thus anyone who is attacking you personally can only do so because you are enabling them, because social etiquette more or less tells us that sharing what you are jerking off to to people you don't know very well or for very long in places where it would be horribly unexpected is going to get you mixed results.

I feel there is nothing wrong with clop, clopping, or cloppers. What someone does in the privacy of their home is their business. As long as its not putting others in danger, or breaking the law, I don't care. Every fandom has their darker, more risque branches, and clop is ours.

I was more or less making a joke. None the less, stopping clopping? Don't care. Their actions don't affect me, mostly because I'm not a brony. However stopping people publicly just flaunting what they are jerking off to, I think we totally should do. Such as the types that assume all Bronies are cloppers, all Furries are Fursuiters, all Christians are bigots etc. etc. etc.

 

But let's just take a random Brony and assume they are a clopper, from every day life, and a bunch of people are talking in the town square about Brony's, and this clopper reveals themselves when the subject is brought up about the different brony fringe groups.

 

Now even with all these qualifiers, do we take this person, and criticize them and shame them simply because their masturbatory habits make us feel uncomfortable? Not if we have any tact. Because although freedom of speech gives us the RIGHT to speak however we feel, common courtesy and social discourse guides us to NOT just blurt out blunt facts or opinions if we know those opinions may hurt someones feelings.

 

You don't confront a mother who is breastfeeding in public that she is a sexual deviant who should be ashamed of herself.

 

You don't approach a gay couple holding hands and lambast them with how their relationship is an affront to the Bible.

 

And you don't tell a guy covered in tattoos or piercings how stupid he looks.

 

All of these people are letting different parts of themselves become public knowledge by breastfeeding, holding hands or exposing the possibly graphic messages on their skin.

 

The proper response to any of these situations is to either ignore it completely and move on if the conversation just got uncomfortable for you or go "Oh, OK. That's not my cup of tea personally but to each their own so long as you aren't hurting anyone, broseph."

 

You wouldn't barge into a group conversation upon hearing someone's sexual preference and tell them how inappropriate they are, because then to everyone else in that public setting YOU'RE the one coming off as a jerk, even if you're in the right. Because those type of reprimands are best served as a one on one basis of pulling a guy aside and going "Hey, I'm not 100% comfortable with you shouting that you clop to ponies, it's embarrassing and would appreciate if you toned it down a little". At least then, they can politely decline your request or accept that you at least had the respect for them to take it up in private rather than try to humiliate them.

 

In an online setting like this, that is the equivalent of taking up your grievances via PM. Rather than publicly trying to humiliate people away from espousing their habits in a thread that invites peoples opinions on the subject matter, you should tell people privately that you're not comfortable and work it out from there. Because otherwise even if you prove yourself right in a technical sense, you still look like an ass for making mountains out of mole hills.
