gaming Favorite Battle Themes

So I was messing around with some test footage I had of me playing BlazBlue, replacing the theme with the battle themes of other games and I got to thinking, "my battle theme playlist isn't nearly as large as I'd like it to be". So, here's a thread to post all your favorite themes that get you hyped up for battle... Well, it doesn't have to be hype, just some music that kicks on for a battle.

 

So here's a few of mine:

Definitely my top song from Skullgirls. Jazzy, smooth and that piano solo  . It just really fits the feel of the game and the stage especially.

 

"Battle 2 -Arrange-"  from Final Fantasy III

 

Featured in Dissidia Final Fantasy, but an arrangement of a boss theme from Final Fantasy III. Talk about before and after. Nobuo Uematsu composed it, but Mitsuto Suzuki brought it to life.

I guess I have to be one of those people and say that the original Pokémon battle music is my all time favourite. Not just because I'm a nostalgia hipster or something It just brings back really good memories of playing this alone or battling with my brother when the invention of the Link Cable came to be.

 

However, over the years? The Pokémon battle music has changed but it's still PERFECT!

Any of the malformation of G boss battle themes from Resident Evil 2.

The battle themes of Final Fantasy VII and IX, the boss battle theme of FFX, the Seymour Battle theme from FFX, The Man With The Machine Gun from FFVIII, the boss battle theme from FFXI, you can kinda see where that is going. Final Fantasy has many of the greatest battle themes.

 

Also, the theme when you fight K Rool in DKC.

Agreed, but I think Final Fantasy XIII's Blinded by Light takes the cake as far as the non-boss battle themes go.

Can we go over final boss themes too? If we can, then let me say that I adore Dancing Mad and The Extreme.

Dancing Mad is long, grueling and intense, while The Extreme fits the intensity of the battle perfectly. This is what makes a final boss theme to me.

 

As far as normal bosses go, I like Chrono Trigger's Boss Battle 1 and The Wind Waker's Molgera. Creative names, Kondo and Mitsuda.

Pokemon has great battle music. Some Pokebattle themes are seriously epic, such as the Elite 4 themes, and the song that plays when you fight Red on Mt . Silver.

Pull any battle theme that originates from G/S/C and I love it.

 

 

 

I know, I posted HG/SS songs, but I do think these did them justice. Especially the Kanto remixes, they really capture the original's spirit very well.

There are a great number of video game themes that get me ready for a good fight, but there is only one song that can get me truly hyped up for combat. Rammstein's Du Hast. Whenever I played an MMO and we were getting ready for a raid or some PVP action I'd blast this song in my house. Annoyed the living hell out of my family.

I have a ton up on this type of category, nothing gets you pumped up for a battle like an epic or awesome theme to boot!

 

I got two for the moment, but awesome none the less.

 

Kingdom hearts has plenty of fan favorites, but one that no one mentions or hears about often is vanita's battle theme, which is comprised of the other battle themes of the other protagonists if you hear carefully!

 

 

And another personal favorite has to be the awesome space and dark battle theme with emerl in sonic advance 3, I used to play this boss battle a lot for the music itself!

There are a lot of boss themes that keep me pumped. The boss theme from the final Arkham City battle, was probably my favorite one.

Another one, was the theme of Lavos from Chrono Trigger. Even now when I play the DS version, that roar/scream sends a chill down my spine, but I love the beat, and how it just flows together:

Last, but not least though is Guile's theme from Street Fighter II. I know its not a boss theme, but still when I heard this on the SNES, I just got a feeling of being pumped up, and energized you know? I even have a cover of it on my iPod.

You can't forget the Victory Song from the Final Fantasy series either:

The video has all the themes from the entire series..the only ones I don't care are from FF X-2, and FF-XIII-2

 

I don't know why, just hold a memory of better days for me I guess. My favorite is from FF VI though..
