they certainly are expensive at first, and for people who like instant gratification, it is likely not going to happen with a solar pannel. it takes a long time for it to pay for itself, however they certainly can be a good investment. currently, the technology cannot actually harness all that much energy, but once it's been looked into a bit more, i'm sure it'll be a great energy alternative for the future.
