Best Episode to Introduce the Show?

Well there are probably a few episodes that might have possibly deleted any possibility of becoming a brony if I watched them in sequence, but here are a few suggestions:

 

1.) Magic Duel (my first episode), although this is weird since it is a sequel to a previous episode

2.) Mmmystery on the something. Got to love Pinkie's crazy antics and explanations about who dunnit.

3.) Lesson Zero: who doesn't love deranged people who can't finish an assignment?

 

 

Oh wow you're pretty new.  I'm glad to actually see a season 3 brony.  But DO NOT show her the one with pinky on the train.  I didn't like that episode.     Magic duel was a good episode, but I wouldn't show that without showing the first one. :/

Indiana Jones --> Reed it and Weep

Super heroes --> Mysterious Mare do well

Mystery --> ...do i really have to say it?

Time Travel or sci-fi/fantasy --> It's about time.

Ooo, I like these choices. But be careful if you pick the Daring Do episode. It is meant to be an Indiana Jones reference but someone who's on the verge of hate for the show might count that against it. Use the episode carefully.

 

I definitely agree with the mystery train one. That was easily one of my favorite episodes of season 2 (or was that 3? Been too long)

I say just show him an episode that he could possibly relate to, for instance my friend was a hater, and we shy/ a little bit of a pushover so I showed him the Iron Will episode where Fluttershy gets all assertive on everyone, and he became a Brony very quickly after that.

 

Also, NO Season 3 stuff, too much previous info  needed.

Oh yeah I almost forgot.  Do not even mention the existence of that abomination of a movie to a noob.  That will screw you over.  It already made a lot of us leave, and it sure will deter a lot of guys from joining.

Just as a side note but there is no actual correlation between being a "fag" and MLP or bright colors or ponies or ANYTHING of the like. That's a misguided thought process people use to judge others for no real reason. They think it means anything, it doesn't. Don't let people push you around with that logic.

Don't like the Mmmystery episode? There's good humor in it to say the least.

 

If that's the case, then I'd probably show them Boast Busters.

Show him season 1 episode 1, friendship is magic, or season 2 episode 1, the return of harmony. either way he has to watch at least 1 more episode, giving you more chance for him to like it. or just chose a random one from season 1 or 2, they are all good

I guess the Best Pet Ever episode is pretty good too though.

Sleepless in Ponyville.  Or at least that's what I think it's called.  It's the Scootaloo episode in season 3 where they go camping.  Very funny episode to start imo.  Or you should go with the MMMystery of the Friendship Express from season 2 just because of the movie references like the James Bond one.  XD  That episode in particular is what I'd show anypony to get them into the show.

That's a good point. A lot of people are against songs in anything. They hate showstopping numbers with a passion. (I think they got a screw loose but whatevs )

I showed my cousin Lesson Zero and Luna Eclipsed, the first because I thought he would love watching a pony slowly go insane, which he did, and the latter to show him why Luna is best princess.

He got a good laugh out of them and I want to show him the MMMMystery one because of all the references, possibly later Read It And Weep.

But one that you should definitely show your brother is The Return of Harmony two parter. It's a good way for a new person to start out without having to see the pilot. It shows what Element each character represents and how they do it so a newbie is easily introduced. But the main reason why I recommend it is DISCORD!! Best villain and his visual gags and just EVERYTHING would make a person love those episodes. I mean seriously he drank the cup and threw away the chocolate milk!! Anyone brony or not would laugh at that!

Wonderbolt academy wouldn't be a bad choice. A little more of a serious episode. What little kid show has references to air force boot camp and Top Gun in it? Plus we have Dashie questioning her lifelong dream of being a wonderbolt after seeing how much recklessness they allow while completing their duties. Again, a little too deep for a little girls show.

 

Also both Applebucking Season and Sleepless in Ponyville to show the effects of sleep deprivation, not confronting fears and having a stubborn pride.

Return of Harmony, Lesson Zero, Wonderbolts Academy, and The Last Roundup. I know those aren't bad episodes but, it could be good to show some new people those episodes.

Lesson Zero is a really good episode to start off with. You get to see a pony go insane (Who doesn't love that?), plus, it's funny and one of the least "girly" episodes.

 

Return of Harmony would be good, seeing it has Discord in it. The only downside I can see is that it's a two-parter, so he might get bored. (Not likely, though)

"Bridle Gossip" and "Winter Wrap Up" were the ones that got me hooked. I just loved the humor and lesson in Bridle Gossip, that I didn't give it a second thought whether I was going to finish the series or not. Winter Wrap for the obvious reason of the song, I had that song stuck in my head for aaaages. I also appreciated Winter Wrap Up's lesson. I dunno, I'd like to say "the stronger episodes", but that might be subjective. Anyways, I'll post my list.

Why?

 

Well, the episode is interesting enough to keep people's attention, it shows that the show can actually be mature from time to time, and there's some nice imagery and action involved.

 

It's my personal favorite episode...and for good reason.

I didn't really notice it the first time I watched this episode, but upon second viewing; I realized how good of an episode it was. It has a good plot, represents the theme of the show well, it's very funny, and not girly at all. Plus, you get that really nice song at the end.
