Personally I'm a big fan of video game emulation, It's vital to me for my game reviews in order to be able get game footage and manipulate it easily, and I much prefer a software to a hardware solution. Additionally I like the customisability certain emulators give.

What do you think of emulators? I have..a fair few of them, I tend to have numerous emulators for each system so I probably have about 30 emulators in total, all configured differently. Let me know if you have any questions re-emulators I have a lot of tips and tricks I've accumulated over the years.

Emulators serve as an easy way to experience games that are no longer avaliable for purchase, or simply won't work on any modern system. I love 'em all - they're the reason I've played such games as Ninja Warriors on the SNES, which is one of my all time fav. games of all time!

I have a DS emulator for my Phoenix Wright games I downloaded and promptly never played (I just couldn't get into playing them; I liked watching them better  ) and a GBA emulator for a Ponymon game my bud and I played for a bit before getting to where they left off and most likely will never finish :D

Yeahh, I'm not too much of a techie or a videogame type person, so I can't really go too much into specifics since I wouldn't know what I'm talking about :D

Emulators are a very nice way to bring newer fans to old games that are no longer available. I approve of emulators, but don't have the technological horsepower to run any.

I've used them for years, because there was so many games I always wanted to play, but I never could because we didn't have that kind of money (I was lucky when I got FF6 and Secret of Mana on my SNES back in the day). Its also a great way to play game hacks, that change games...some are fun and goofy (Ponymon, Jamesbound), while others...make the game hard as all hell (arena Super Metroid hack...dear lord...).

I think emulation is good for retro games that you may have never gotten a chance to play(that's how I got Legends 2) as well as imports

The only emulators I really play though are for the SNES, PS1, GBA and Arcades

I used to have both an NES and SNES emulator, I mostly used them to get games that were either not for sale anymore or fan translations of games which didn't make it to the US like Mother 1 and 3 (the series is known as Earthbound in the US and only Mother 2 made it there unfortunetely).

I really like emulators I use a few myself I think it's a great way to preserve an older generation of gaming and to relive some nostalgic moments :D.

I used to use them myself for games from NES to PS1. I stopped using them because I wanted to try to buy games legitimately but there's some things that there's no real way to do that. It'll be a little easier with the RetroN 5 coming out, if it ever comes out at all that is!

I played GBA games most, I think. Some included some Barbie platformers that were surprisingly good. Super Agent Barbie being my favorite. Even the minigame one Barbie's Island Adventure was decent enough. Then there was the Groovy Games one...bleh.

I have all my old consoles, but still need an SNES emulator to play those frustratingly difficult super mario world rom hacks and certain rare games that are out of my price range on ebay. I don't use an emulator for recent games, it just feels wrong and it appears to be fairly buggy anyway.

I use em. I collect a wide variety of retro games as well but sometimes emulation is just easier(and a good way to get things are hard or expensive to get real copes of)

Which emulator works best for N64, I have sixty force and it works well for super smash bros, but it flashes all over the place for pokemon stadium.

I used project64 for N64. I only played goldeneye with it but it ran without frame rate issues, graphical issues, and was easy to configure so it should be alright.

I have all those same shooters. The other advantage of emulation is rom hacks lime ponymon but also rom translations ie play a Japanese game in the super famicom fully translated. There are still a buch od games I hope get translated.

I have a Game Boy Advance emulator on my HTC. It's great for Final Fantasy IV, and almost EVERYTHING else.

As a stance, I figure it should not be a problem. Unless the companies actually make an emulating console ( I doubt that will ever happen.)

I used to have a PS2 emulator until I bought a new PS2. Now I just have DOSBox.

DOSBox is almost needed, since anything that ran on DOS back in the day, and wasn't updated to have a windows launcher, won't work on Vista, 7, or 8.

I played the Phoenix Wright series on emulator, as those games are a little difficult to find.

I also have a computer hooked up to my TV with some controllers, and on occasion we play N64 games on it like Goldeneye and Mario Party. It's a lot of fun.

Also, good news! While the PS3/Xbox 360 era of consoles is only barely entering the period of being able to boot a game to the title screen, and likely has decades to go, some people have theorized that because of some major CPU-architecture changes, the PS4/XB1 era of consoles is likely going to be much easier to emulate. It'll still take several years at the very least I'd say, but I'm eager to see whether they manage it.

I did play Pokemon: Ruby on an emulator, and it was really fun playing that game again to bring the nostalgia back to me.

Pokemon games are the most downloaded roms for GB/GBC/GBA emulators. Everyone wants that nostalgic feeling.

I use Dfend reloaded as a front end for dosbox so that I don't have to enter command props and all that.

I mostly just use it for Princess Maker. I tried to get an emulator for the older Touhou games but couldn't get it operational so I just play the later PC ones.

I don't really do computer emulation anymore...once I got my psp and installed CFW, I put emulators on there for the N64, Sega Genesis, the NES, SNES, GB, and the GBA. I may put more on there at a later time...but we'll see. It's nice playing some of my favourite old games on there though!
