Rainbow Dash's Mentor

I was checking out the new Canterlot Nights cards on the My Little Pony Collectible Card Game Wiki, and I stumbled across this card. What I found interesting about it is it's caption.

 

 

A lot of people have already theorized that this Stallion is actually her father. This theory has been around for a while now due to this.

 

 

 

 

However, not everybody believes this theory. I have a friend who claims that Hasbro confirmed that Rainbow Dash, and Rainbow Blaze aren't related in any way, shape, or form. He also went on to say that Rainbow Manes in Equestria are probably common, and they're like Gingers. If this is true though, then why haven't we seen any other Rainbow Manes? Also, the Card Game has given us confirmation that Rainbow Dash and Rainbow Blaze do indeed know each other. (Since the second picture in this thread didn't convince some they knew each other.)

 

Now, Rainbow Blaze may not be her father but he does appear to be related to her. Could he be her father, or an older brother perhaps? What do you think? Do you believe Rainbow Blaze is related to her? Could it just be coincidence that he looks so much like Rainbow Dash?

I really do think this guy could very well be Dash's father. Let's say the mare next to him is Dash's mom. Taking what I learned from Science, Dash might've gotten magenta eyes from the mare (her potential mother) and her rainbow hair from the stallion (her potential father.)

I mean, the only rainbow haired pony we see is coincidentally the one Rainbow Dash is standing on?

I'd say she's a father or brother or some relative. Or I could come up with some incredibly complicated theory that RD is one of the very few surviving members of a special race of Rainbow pegasi who have special powers compared to other pegasi

Well, I mean, she's standing on his back and he has a rainbow mane...I doubt adults let random little kids climb up on their backs to see things - there's a low chance of that happening, actually. Even lower is the chance that an adult with the same mane that we've only seen one other pony have would let that one rainbow mane pony climb up on his back and them not be related.

 

Genetics and family behavior? Yeahh, that's her dad

His mane, the fact he's next to a pony with the same color of coat (Rainbow Dash's mother), and Rainbow Dash standing on him...

It never even crossed my mind that he could be anything but her dad The resemblance and interaction just screams father/daughter.

 

But I do like this fanfic, where Rainbow Dash actually has white hair, but always colors it with hair dye made from liquid rainbow. And in that case, maybe Blaze really is just a mentor, and taught her the recipe

That's nonsense.

 

Common or not, it is a genetic trait.  Rainbow Blaze has the same mane and coat as Rainbow Dash.  She was also riding on his shoulders at a major event, a common practice of parents.  He also has a similar name and interests.

 

All evidence points to one conclusion.  The only way you can deny this is by ignoring the forest for the trees.

That's what I was thinking. However a certain friend of mine still refuses to believe it's true.

Well, tbh, they have similar colors so right of the bat, that tells me they are Father and Daughter.

Though I really appreciate giving him a name to call him besides "Rainbow Dad."

There's nothing stopping them from giving her mom the same color scheme(and name, considering General Firefly was around the time Nightmare Moon was banished)
