Bronies got the name "brony" because it was very unexpected to have a huge male fanbase, but Shrek is targeted towards everybody. They are huge but sorta silent it's odd. It took me FOREVER to figure where in the world the Shrek memes came from but ever since Shrek came out brogers existed as well which is fine but random.
