Hey there! I've searched the forums if theres a topic like this but there's none so.... Yeah. But I might have missed it but I couldn't find it after going through like 5 pages.

I can speak four languages!

  • English (duh)
  • Tagalog
  • German (a bit)
  • French (still learning but getting there!)

How about you guys? What languages are you learning or can speak?

No, I wish I was.

I've tried learning a bit of Tagalog off my friends, but there is only so much they can be bothered teaching. Otherwise, I would really like to learn German, and more recently Russian. (Talk about extremely hard though) I know a tiny bit of German, just the basics.

Don't worry, you'll learn German, Russian and Tagalog.

Wait Tagalog?! Are you from the Fillypines or something?

No, they are. I just wanted to learn it because I like learning languages, and I could talk to them without my other friends understanding. :squee: Their grasp on the language was limited too though, so that added to the difficulty.

Tagalog is a very easy language to learn. Fun fact: The way you say it is the way you spell it!

Always makes learning a language easier. Not that English makes it easy for learners.

Learning English is a pain. Lots of fancy words and rules.

It is? I though that Spanish was the hard one.... (I speak Spanish since I was  a baby) For me is more easy to learn English....

At least you dont have acents and complicated rules....

Like: más = more /// mas = than ....

It changes a lot if you dont use the acents... and comas and dots........and Ñ

I think French is tougher. You need to memorize all these verbs and conjugate them. Present, perfect, imperfect and future.

Is 'fabulosity' one of them?

Yes, yes it is! Its actually a word :)

I only speak Dutch (Native) and English. My dutch speech skills are better than English, but my English writing skills are better than my Dutch writing skills (The dutch grammar and spelling makes no sense... English is WAY more clear). So yeah, whenever I try to type something in Dutch on the computer... I often find myself switching to English without me noticing. It kinda sucks, because it forces me re-write everything again...

Also, I generally prefer to read in English.

I wouldn't call myself Billingual since I started learning english when I was 9, however at this point my english is not your average english and I get mistaken for native speakers quite often. Also I am sure that my english is just as good as my german now. Maybe even better.

I tried it, I failed it. I'm alright to get it right in present but once there are other tenses I fail completely. xD

Déjà vu. I guess I'll also make a topic asking if you're trilingual, and another if you're quadrilingual .

I'm bilingual in English and Spanish, though my Spanish isn't perfect since I learned it at home, and didn't use it often in school (writing is mainly the problem). If I could only perfect my French, I could my consider myself trilingual, which would be cool since 3 is my lucky number, I guess.

I swear I've posted here before...

I can speak English and Russian, although I have difficulties in the latter that I'm correcting. I prefer to have everything in Russian rather than in English. I feel it helps.  I take German in Uni (mandatory), and I also have been doing Swedish. If I had to choose an additional one that wasn't sort of needed, I would probably pick Italian.

Fluently bilingual, no.  I knew French and ASL when I was a teen, but I never used them and I've forgotten most of it.  I could probably pick them up again pretty easily if I tried, though.  I'm trying to learn German right now, but I've been slacking on my studying.  :P
