2014 was not a good year at all for me.

 

• Horrible winter resulted in horrible road damage here which trashed my winter car's suspension.
• My aunt broke her ankle in the horrible winter.
• One of my little cousins had some kind of serious kidney thing that could have gotten really bad- luckily that turned out OK.
• Another cousin almost got killed by a broken garage door at his work.
• My brother has anger and other issues and was evicted from our house.
• My health insurance thru parents ended of course right when "Obamafun" starts up. (The letter showing what it would cost for me to continue the plan as it was was the most hilarious piece of mail I've ever received.)
• I got a ticket
• An important manager suddenly quit at my work- which meant even more "fun" for me :okiedokielokie:
• My grandpa died unexpectedly just over a week ago at 89. -_- Surprisingly, I've never lost anyone close in my 26 years before.

Wow, I didn't realize just HOW SHITTY this year actually was until I thought about this for a thread.

It's honestly been the worst year of my life.

 

On the positive...

 

• Finding out about MLP (by accident) kind of changed my thinking for the better, which probably played a good part in helping me stay sane. Thank goodness I found out about it in January.
• I built my first new desktop for myself- and because of advice from @Daring, and @Lunatic Envy, saved myself from being very disappointed over like $75.
• This year, the only debt I have is on my newer car. I could get rid of it at any time if needed and still be ahead on it a couple grand. (I have another older car too)
• My ticket didn't have any points (car insurance didn't go up.)

 

 

Hopefully 2015 is better.

Lost my stepfather to lung cancer, he was basically my father

There are a lot of other lil things like my sister and her husband getting divorced and the stress and depression it put on my neice and nephew was terrible

Only really good thing to happen was work wise I got two promotions so that helped a lil

 

If it wasn't for some if the friendships I made through this site this year would have been really hard to get through

Actually, my 2014 was amazing, much better than 2013 and 2012. Granted, 2014 for me had its ups and downs, but I've never felt this satisfied in a long time. I'm going to a better school, I found a strategy to be more sociable and make more friends, I'm starting to look for a job and learn how to live on my own and much more. It's definitely one of my best years.

This was the worst year for me, well actually it didn't get bad until September. Too many family deaths to deal with and such. But hey...ya know, things happen for a reason I suppose and we have to stay strong...

Ups and downs, just like each year. However, a fair amount has happened this year for sure.

 

-My grandmother passed away at 93.5 (technically in 2013...but it was two days before new years day)

-I finally became a certified Grade 8 football (soccer) referee

-I gave in and watched every episode of MLP and became a brony

-I joined this forum!

-I played a role in the inaugural MLPF 2014 World Cup!

-My favorite international football team won the FIFA 2014 world cup (Germany!)

-I made a balloon dog

-I moved apartments and have a great roommate

-After not having much work in the summer, I was given a teaching position at my university as an Undergrad PE teacher for two classes.

-I had a great beard and outfit for Halloween

-I learned to dance

-RWBY volume 2 and Red vs Blue season 12 aired

-Falling Skies season 4

-My intramural teams did well this semester

-My parents officially divorced

-My parents sold the house

-My roommate got me into Skyrim

-I watched every season of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra

-I finally caught up on all 5 seasons of The Walking Dead

-I found a group of guys that I play Magic: The Gathering with on a regular basis

 

-It FINALLY snowed just now! (It's been a boring and dry winter, and it just started snowing at midnight! I'm having a white Christmas after all!

2014 had it's ups and downs for me too. 

 

• I had some positive experiences with working and education, I'm doing a course on astronomy which is one of the things I have an interest in. 
• I'm getting much better at playing piano. 

I won't really go into to much detail about the negatives because it's a little depressing to think about but I am trying to be positive about this problem as best I can

I can't really complain. Overall I feel it's been mostly positive, Ive had far worse recent years (2011...) This year I at least feel as though I was much more organized and so was able to do a lot more that I wanted, even snuck a trip to Paris in there which was awesome. But yeah, I'll definitely put this down as a year that went relatively well. I hope we all get a good start to 2015.

-had double jaw surgery and wisdom teeth removal.

-had to be on a no chew diet for 6 weeks, then after that teach myself how to chew food again.

-moved back to Texas in like April.

-my cat died. while I was making pancakes...like y omg.

-went to six flags with my best friend and his parents. Bless their hearts, the only parents of my friend's that I'm on that personal cool level with.

-got accepted to West Texas A&M :D

 

And that's pretty much about it for this year.

This year was a mixed bag for me. The first half of it was just... meh. :/ Nothing particularly good or memorable, but nothing terrible either. I went to college, did random crap at home, and that's it- those months were... just sorta there, you know?  -_- But it must have dulled my perspective quite a lot, because by the start of Year 13 I had pretty much given up on life. There was no motivation to do anything or go anywhere, even death by starvation seemed preferable to living. I was practically a misanthrope, and skeptical to the extreme. It got so bad that I actually ended up in hospital out of concern for my wellbeing. 

 

Now, however, since I'm free to do my own research at home (not a fan of public education :/), counselling and having discovered this show and its fandom, I feel like I'm on the mend. I'm still getting there, but my mood is much more stable now than it was a few months ago. For once, I'm with people that I feel I can actually relate to, that I'm not worried about being open to. So... thank you, everypony.

2014 was an... interesting year for me.

 

My mom finally got remarried and I moved to a new town and made some new friends.

 

I kind of started making videos again.

 

But on the other hand, I had a few relatives die this year.

I can't lie, it wasn't a good year. I lost my grandma, became fairly distant from the one I love again, and I somehow became complacent to achieving my dreams. My spirit has been broken. Whereas in the past several years I was all about appreciating every day I had, this year it has been more like feeling my life has extended beyond where it was ever supposed to.

 

If there was anything positive, I was able to get many of the objects I had desired long and short... clothes that I want, a PC that is much for fit for playing the games I like, wireless internet, a PS3, a new TV, an iPad, and a Bose Wi-Fi Sounddock (so I don't have to listen to 80s-infested Oldies stations anymore. lol).

 

I also discovered MLP beyond G4, and came to appreciate all of the generations. Just in time, too... G3 especially brings me happiness, I do not know why, it just does. The toyline is absolutely gorgeous, too, and I want them all. xD

• My gf cheated on me.
• Wisdom teeth pulled
• Constantly disliked at home and school
• Huge amount of stress and depression for most of the year
• My Uncle got cancer
• A family member stole $200 from me

Positives:

• Became a brony
• Joined the forums
• Visited my friend who I haven't seen in a couple of years

2014 is the worst year yet :I

 

• Grandmother who raised me has stage 4 lung cancer
• Where I sleep the next night has always been up in the air, being in limbo between two houses
• Got D's on my dual credit courses, and failed Government
• Still haven't gotten my license even though I got my permit back in June 2013 (and even 0 hours on my driving log, too, still!)
• Family down to one vehicle with an uncle who works two jobs and a bunch of little kids
• Mother decided to turn her uselessness into potheadedness
• Father never called while he had the chance
• Having relationship problems with my bf of three years

 

The only good thing that happened is my 18th birthday, which other than being cut away from parents, literally means nothing in terms of being able to work or drive or be independent.

Unfortuantley, my engagement got broken off this year...

I was also admitted to the psychiatric hospital for cutting.

 

So... not the best year, but definitley one I will always remember.

-My car was damaged so I can't drive it. (Don't drive when it is past your bed time was the lesson I learned from that.)

It started out kinda not so well, not horrible, not too good. Then it got really stressful in the late summer, which went away, and came back, and grew into depression and... 4? suicide attempts, give or take... It's real shit, I tell ya.

2014 was one of the turning points of my life I finally started getting help for my issues and I think the biggest instigator was when I joined here.
