An impossible choice.

So here is the scenario.

Your pet/family member/significant other is in mortal peril, but you can only save them by doing one thing.

You must kill Fluttershy. With an ice pick. (edit: granting if she was real)

What do you do?

But all my family members are fluttershy. What do I do then?

Then  you must either kill Fluttershy or Fluttershy.

But she is my family. So I must kill my family to save my family?

*head explodes*

Killing Fluttershy just once is a terrible punishment. More? Even worse.

I thought this would actually be an impossible choice, but it's pretty obvious. Kill Flutters without hesitation. I don't like her that much anyway.

I would let my family member/pet die.

I love My Little Pony. I could never harm any of the mane 6, never. If they were real, I'd never even think of hurting them.

I don't want them to hate me. If I killed Fluttershy all of the ponies that make me smile would be trying to kill me. I'd also hate myself forever.

Death is a part of life. I'd just have to accept the inevitable. Maybe I'd get lucky, and the mane 6 would save my family member, and or pet?

Fluttershy. Quick strike to the heart. Then break down crying by rewatching Hurricane Fluttershy with my family.

Kill Fluttershy then contemplate killing myself due to the fact that I would hardly be able to live with myself, this is if she was actually real of course keep in mind!

Yeah I'm not killing Fluttershy with an ice pick. The death of friends or family (even your age or younger) is something I already know I can get over. Murder, even for a "good reason" is probably the kind of thing that sticks with you forever.

I don't like hypothetical situations like this because I know that it would indeed be impossible for me to choose. Although I love my family more than anything, I would never EVER willingly kill another human or sentient being that can think and talk like us. Even if someone were holding a gun against one of my family members, I don't believe I could kill them. Instead, I would look for any other possible alternatives. If there are none, I would just have to live with the pain of loosing them.

In the case of the hypothetical scenario posed by the OP of this thread, there isn't enough information for me to say for sure, but assuming someone is trying to kill my family and there is no way for me to disable the killer, I would first beg for their mercy. If that doesn't work, I would have no choice but to witness their death. It would be very painful and I'm not sure how I would handle it, but I would try not to blame myself or commit suicide. After all, I would have done nothing wrong. It wouldn't be my fault they are dead, but the fault of the person who killed them. I would have been merely an unfortunate witness to the event.
