  1. Disappointed, someone I commissioned for some art just deleted their blog, and won't respond to me. I paid in advance, so I suppose they don't have any reason to actually do it...
  2. Guy I commissioned for some art about 5 months ago just deleted his tumblr, and won't respond to any messages I send. I guess it's what I get for paying in advance, but still, disappointing.

  3. So confused...did d&d tonight, and the monk just intimidated a dragon with info no one else even knew...

  4. Both, I enjoy Tea and Coffee, though I typically drink Coffee for the caffeine, and Green Tea later in the day. (Drinking some Coffee rn actually, peppermint mocha)
  5. I just think that a lot of African powers are under-represented, so they could add an interesting empire a bit out of the norm. (And also because I play a lot of Ethiopia in Europa Universalis 4...) as far as other African powers go, Carthage comes to mind (but not with Rome, punic wars makes that a pretty big no.) Ghana, or for a medieval civilization, Mali or Songhai, though they probably wouldn't make great picks for your current issue. Indian empires such as The Mauryans (Interactions with the Greeks, but not so much with the Romans.) could be interesting as well.
  6. I've heard this before, and I just can't imagine pouring milk first. Seems like you'd splash milk everywhere. So cereal first
  7. Throwing this one out there just because I never see it used, the Aksumite Empire. While I suppose it doesn't fit "didn't have extensive contact with rome" as they were pretty key in trade with Rome, they're rarely mentioned as such, being by far the least often noted of the great powers of the time (along with Persia, Rome, and China) Even if they wouldn't make a great fit with Rome, they're one I'd love to see used in general. As far as similarities go, one comes to mind right away, Emperor Constantine and Emperor Ezana, both ruling polytheistic empires until both converting to Christianity and massively changing their empires because of it. (A mere 2-3 years difference in when they converted, too!)
  8. Everyone does, even if you don't know it. Mine would be American Midwest, though it's only Michigan so not real strong. To me it sounds normal but I'm sure everyone's accent sounds normal on the area they're from, and not as much in other areas.
  9. I am, both romantically and sexually attracted to only men, though I thought I was pansexual for quite some time.
  10. As a lions fan I guess I'm rooting for falcons vs steelers just because I don't like the other two teams.
  11. Well, there goes my d&d group... Each half angry at the other.

IC kinda, Me (Cleric) and the fighter disagreed immensely with a plan involving poisoning a public taphouse because a gang drinks there, innocents do too, and my cleric's diety despises poison. Plus the rogue pickpocketed someone fairly obviously, and tried to blackmail the fighter about his backstory. OOC the rogue and monk keep talking over us and blaming us whenever anything goes wrong, then trying to make everytging a stealth mission even though half the group has heavy armor.

Seems to me to be a problem with the thief player. A reasonable player would realize that poisoning innocents would cause a problem. It's one thing to role play an evil-leaning character, but it goes too far when it ruins the game.

Well, poisoning was actually the monk's idea. We might still be able to make it work, the fighter is the only one there I know, (BF invited me to his group when one of them left) and then he wanted to stop so I didn't really want to play without him there, but he said he and the DM are discussing it. It's a lot of the rogue (well, rogue/bard/cleric/wizard because he wants to be able to do everything.) talking over everyone and dominating the game I have issues with.

  12. Firstly, I do still browse these forums on occasion, so you may want to stop the badmouthing because you think I can't hear you, it's bad form. I could go on and on about how you're not telling whole truth, that I told you many times over that your physical appearance doesn't mean anything, and that I told you many times sex doesn't matter to me. Or how you said I was "too ugly for you", and yet now go on to say I couldn't look past your appearance. If you'd like to actually talk to me about this sort of thing instead of bringing it up in a public forum, I've sent you some PM's, read them. Or we can discuss all about how you said sex is too important to you to keep dating me and then went on the hypocritically slander me about this sort of thing, but I'm sure these fine people don't want to hear about it, and I'm sure you'd rather not have me continue to tear down this neat little fort of lies you've built yourself, so I'll leave this here for now. And as for the question, yes, I do, though my BF and I have only been dating for 3 months or so, so certainly not anytime in the near future. Maybe a few years down the road.
  13. Man, something about this banner creeps me out. Great work to the artist, but...

  14. A friend and I are watching Vargskelethor videos and playing nuclear throne.
  15. Yes, all of them. That's actually the whole movie, just long, drawn out death scenes... Nah man probably not unless they think corpse toys will sell well. (They won't)
  16. Back after like a year. Dunno if I'll be making this a regular thing, mostly just here out of nostalgia's sake, but hi.

  17. Been a while, why not? (My phone flips all camera pics sidewats for some reason...
  18. Finally went ahead and ordered all the card's I'll need for my pokemon tcg deck, league play outta be fun.

  19. Bowie existed so all us misfits learned that oddity was a precious thing. He changed the world forever. (Not my words, but they fit.)

  20. No, but that instance had other causes, I'd imagine those people probably wouldn't have stepped in anyways. There's this thing called the bystander effect (also known as bystander apathy), which basically means that people tend not to act if there are a lot of them. Everyone tends to assume that any second now someone else will jump in It was first really popularized by a murder in NYC in the 60's where a woman was stabbed to death outside her apartment complex, with numerous people watching. No one helped, or even called the police, because they saw no one else was doing it. There are a few other famous examples as well, such as a man drowning while dozens of civilians and even firefighters watched for several minutes until finally someone pulled him out. He died not long after. Or Wang Yue, the 2-year-old girl hit by a van in China, then run over again when no one moved her. She was left on the street for seven minutes as people ignored her, and even walked around her blood and continued on, until finally a recycling worker saw her and called for help. She died 8 days later. There are things you can do to help, though! The obvious one being stepping in to help if you see something like this happen, but if you need someone to go get help, don't say "Someone call for help!" Instead, Point out one person in particular, tell them to get help, if they're singled out this is less likely to happen. I learned about a lot of this, such as the stabbing murder of Kitty Genovese, in a psych class, but I'm mostly just going off of this wikipedia article, so I'll leave a link here as to back up what I'm saying. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bystander_effect
  21. Yeah, they probably do, seeing as real ponies/horses do. Unless MLP ponies are born through eggs or spores or something instead of live birth, they probably do. They'd just look kinda weird and be unnecessary to animate.
  22. I think my internet's having issues, it's being extra slow recently...

  23. Not in one currently, had a bad breakup a couple weeks ago. I'm back to dating again, though. How I feel around other couples? Fine, I guess. I don't think much about it. How many? 4, but they've all lasted longer than a year, so I'm not really used to being single.
