  1. Nope. Most of that just isn't that entertaining since it usually consists of just doing a collect-a-thon, picking up random junk because, hey it's a new shiny. My 100% is finishing the story and doing all the extra bosses/ dungeons/ side quests. Even then, I may not really care for all the small side bits. In RPG's I'll generally do all the side quests and extra bosses eventually (takes a looooong time before I get around to it normally); for fighting games, I'll do the stories of the characters I'm most interested in and the true story, but probably not all the others. Absolutely no extra scavenger hunts! A major exception is games like Skyrim, where pretty much the whole game is sidequests, nothing in there really holds onto me for long so I end up dropping that pretty early...
  2. There's just not enough hours in the day... ever.

  3. Well, that was funny stuff. I think I have my game boy color around here somewhere, I only found the rumble pack thing just now, it was a see through purple color. I played a bunch of games on it of course and got the advance and sp afterwards. And that part where the kid said he would throw it away, I'm not surprised and don't really blame him. I wouldn't throw mine away but only because nostalgia, and I'd never play it ever again really, just keep it shelved for all eternity. It's honestly a hunk of junk by today's standards. (I was all like "oh yeah, I remember that" when they were talking about all the lighting and magnifying peripherals)
  4. In Brawl, I mained Pikachu, though I ended up using Bowser way more often since he's just fun to lumber around with (had to give them some kind of handicap or else they'd never play for long -_-). I'm guessing Pikachu will be largely the same in the new smash game so it's safe to say I'll probably end up maining Pikachu yet again.
  5. What? I was pretty sure the game was getting high ratings from pretty much everyone that played it, from paid critics to the average joe with the blog. I guess the popularity might have dipped a bit (let's be honest, it was pretty heavy on the backtrack and whatnot), but nowhere near as bad as you make it sound. This isn't Final Fantasy XIII we're talking about here.
  6. I know you ruled it out already, but I did quite like Dissidia 012's scenario and cutscenes. And the music accompanying them was simply amazing! Anyways, of the fighting games whose stories I actually know of, I'd say the best ones are Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena and Mortal Kombat. Persona's might be kind of an unfair(?) choice, seeing as it's a sequel to a standard RPG game but... As for the other fighting games I've played: I honestly forget that Street Fighter has a story besides the tournament. Dead or Alive is pretty much the same deal as Street Fighter, with the addition of super powered clones; I guess that makes it slightly more interesting though. Don't know enough about Guilty Gear or Arcana Heart to really say much about them. Soul Calibur's not bad; the reboot of sorts was kind of weird though. Skullgirls just started so there's not much to tell really.
  7. We lost... mrgrgr

  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBS8j73DlAk Ahh, Steamboy. I remember how I would keep watching the credits over and over just to hear the later bits of this song.
  9. Let's see: BlazBlue (Calamity Trigger, Continuum Shift Extend, and Chrono Phantasma) Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Super Street Fighter IV Battlefield 4 Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn Persona 4 Arena Soul Calibur V Arcana Heart 3 Guilty Gear (uh I forgot which number, but it's the one on PSN right now) Skullgirls Encore Assassin's Creed: Black Flag I think that's about it. I don't really play any of these online besides Final Fantasy and BlazBlue though. If someone invites me, I don't mind playing the other fighting games I have, though.
  10. Why, it has to be Hare Hare Yukai, of course. There's nothing wrong with the song... except I love it and it has a dance to it. Naturally, everytime I hear the song, I get the urge to do the dance. Though, I guess the dancing might not be a huge deal if I was with a bunch of other TMOHS fans.
  11. I'd say VIII XIII and X are my favorites. I like VII too though not quite as much as the rest.
  12. My family probably would have had a good time doing that, if I had all that much trouble with Mario and Zelda games at the time that is. Ironically, Mortal Kombat was the game that would bring me to tears and I'm sure my brother had plenty of good laughs (yes, I played that game as a kid, and yes my dad would join in on that game too). Not sure how young you would have to be, but I don't remember having all that much trouble with Mario platformers or the 2D Zelda games I did play at the time; though Majora's mask did give me the most memorable nightmare I've ever had, and I only watched that game! As for the rest of that, I'm just going to say I actually like my cutscene and dialogue heavy games (though, Metal Gear Solid is a little to exposition heavy for me. That's a ton of info to swallow at one time!); it's probably some of my favorites overall. Plus, the immature insults and bickering is the best part sometimes, though that's only among friends (you know, in fighting games, Dokapon Kingdom etc. Putting down your closest friends is the best ).
  13. That's one weird list. Honestly, I'd just ask for: around 3 to 4 fatalities per character some returning favorites of course, like Cyrax, Smoke, Reptile, etc. I don't have much of a list, but I don't have a ton of interest in MK in general so... I probably won't be playing this game anyway, but more characters and fatalities would still be nice to see.
  14. Legend of Zelda >>>>> Mario. Honestly, the only Mario games I even like are the spin-off, sporty ones or the RPG ones: like golf and kart and of course Paper Mario. The platformers on the other hand? Can't stand them. Now, LoZ is pretty good. I've not been super interested in them anymore but it still catches my attention. Not very high on my favorite series list anymore, I probably won't play another Zelda game for quite a while actually, but I still like Legend of Zelda more than Mario.
  15. Oh, non-pony identity day? Well, I'm already set... That's a bit anticlimactic

  16. I think it's us that have changed. I look at Nintendo and what they say and do and they feel very much traditional. They really just stick to what they do with very little care for direction the competition and consumers seem to be heading in. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I mean I Iove Nippon Ichi and their games pretty much always stay true to a very "classic" (read: antiquated) gameplay design, but Nintendo's games have just become not quite as enticing lately as a result. Their mainly target the young and the casual with their games. And then they're also kind of untraditional aren't they? With their newfound waggle technology and tablet controllers. Still, where it matters: the games, they are largely the same as ever -- kid-friendly.
  17. Yeah, I didn't hear anything about this happening to Smash 4, but I do remember the complaints about Brawl's story being uploaded. Honestly, I don't see the big deal, but Nintendo is just weird when it comes to things like this. I remember reading an article not too long ago, talking about why Nintendo didn't intend to have any kind of streaming support for their console despite streaming becoming fairly popular in the gaming community. I believe Reggie said something like they don't think it's fun to watch someone else play games. I don't really know how to word it, but Nintendo's very much fixated on their idea of fun: that's why I wouldn't be super surprised if they cut having a story to Smash 4 after thinking about how people uploaded subspace emissary to youtube. On another note, I actually liked subspace emissary. The gameplay was super lame, but the cutscenes and locales were interesting enough. Ha, I guess it is sort of like adventure mode. Everytime I see it ( or even think about it!), I can't help but think of city trial. I loved Kirby Air Ride way too much
  18. USA! USA! USA!

  19. My favorite Zelda game is definitely Wind Waker. I just loved the open sea and art style ( and of course the other bits and pieces. I don't want to drone on about it though). Unfortunately, I seem to be falling out of love with the Zelda series, or maybe it was just this particular E3's showing. I'm just not that excited for Zelda games right now: Hyrule Warriors' limited multiplayer destroys any interest I would have had in the game and the teaser for the open world game just didn't hype me up.
  20. I should have started using last.fm so much sooner. It's been a while since fell so in love with a song at first listen.

  21. I don't think it's really that fair to vote for one when you haven't seen them all, but seeing as some other's have already done that, I guess I will too. I didn't watch any of them, only little snippets of some of them, but I be going off what some other sites have been saying: Sony won, with Nintendo being right behind. From what I read Sony was conference was balanced and carried with confidence, while Nintendo's is just plain quirky. They say Microsoft played it way too safe, afraid to have a repeat of last year. As a side note, someone should look into the correlations between Nintendo fans and MLP fans. There's definitely a lot there
  22. Fair enough. That's nice and all, it really is, but I doubt I'd notice. I mean, Bayonetta's the type of game where I mostly just mash a bunch of buttons and then win (I'm sure that sounds really insulting to the fans). It's no exaggeration that I've been playing games that run at 60fps for years and didn't notice until recently. You know, it will probably end up as one of those situations where I don't really "see" it but I can kind of "feel" it. Which is why I would like higher fps. ( For all my arguing against higher fps, I do actually want that )
  23. Sometimes, I really wonder how much of a difference higher frame rate would make, gameplay wise, in the average single player game. I know it makes a big difference in games that require fast reaction times and precision and such, but take a game like Bayonetta and I'm not really sure I'd even notice a difference. Yes, that makes more sense, but is less effective in getting the point across, which ultimately makes it less useful in this situation. This is off topic though, so I don't really want to continue past this.
