  1. "Oh, I don't really care, I'm just pointlessly prejudiced because my religion told me so and I totally have to blindly obey it!" ...You are the worst sort of person. I say that as respectfully as I can. @AtDawnTheySquee: People have tried to wed pillows, video game characters, trucks, the Berlin Wall, a roller coaster...It gets weird but they've got the right. And as for "civil union"...Well, you remember how blacks used to be shunted into separate schools, restrooms, etcetera under the BS excuse of "separate but equal"? That's all a "civil union" is. That certain segments of humanity demand it be arbitrarily distinguished from "marriage" is just the same inane discriminatory reasoning in a new form.
  2. There was a point in time where guys beating the hell out of their wives was "just normal" too. Now it's called abuse. But hey, I guess women today just have a thinner skin...
  3. There is no reasonable way to disagree with equality. And why are you bringing up the right to life? Nobody's talking about killing anyone here. The fact remains that not supporting equality is a product of discrimination and discrimination is a product of hate. OT: "No hitting below the belt" and similar rules or complaints against "dirty fighting" are stupid. The entire point of a fight is victory, by any means. You want to avoid "cheap" tactics? Enjoy losing every fight you'll ever be in.
  4. I was born with hydrocephalus which resulted in brain damage. This led to cerebral palsy (and flawed vision) and may or may not have influenced a later diagnosis of autism. My life has been spent in a seemingly endless gauntlet of harassment, abuse, and contempt from family and peer alike. Those who were friends turned enemies when they saw my friendship made them unpopular. Some were never friends at all, and had just lost a bet or taken a dare. Emotional and physical damages piled up, and inevitably led to a bitter, cynical, depressive, downward-spiraling shell of a human being. To this very day, I count only about five people I've known in life as proper friends, have disowned a brother for being far too much a part of the problem, bear repressed rage and resentment toward a father as well as humanity in general, am still prone to all manner of unhealthy coping mechanisms (up to and including what is commonly called 'cutting'), suffer the occasional suicidal contemplation and outright depressive breakdowns, and live/socialize primarily via the internet. If I had to guess, I'd say the last really truly legitimately good interaction I had with a person face-to-face, free of any turmoil internal or otherwise, was...Sixteen years ago? Maybe seventeen. So...Yeah, kinda.
  5. The above claim, regardless of who makes it, is a lie, a delusion or both. Period. Not supporting equality is a sign of discrimination which is itself a sign of hatred whether one realizes it or not. Also Hyperdimension Neptunia is too hated.
  6. Worst fanfic idea ever. Twilight got a pass for the episode being halfway decent but all six? That's just a bad fanfic. Bad fanfic writing has no place in any actual show.
  7. The imprisonment was her plan...And they do very well explain exactly what she's upset about. Nightmare Moon's upset that people sleep at night, Celestia's upset that her former sister tried to kill all life. All in all, the latter seems far less insane a thing to be upset over.
  8. It made no sense to anyone because it was nonsensical. Same thing with Discord's 180. Thank goodness Chrysalis was evil 'til the end...
  9. Nobody should just "deal" with pointless changes caused by over-reactionary soccer moms. That'd just make for a crummy world to live in.
  10. What's a popular hobby? Football or something? Because there are people who don't care for football, and you'd still be judged by them. Futile thoughts, my friend!
  11. Skylar (formerly Keiichi) of the MLP forums. Also Fluttershy. I love the shy and/or submissive ones. >3< And Elizabeth of Bioshock Infinite.
  12. I'd say they're all equal as far as deciding what to try but Applebloom's sort of the unspoken leader whether she chooses it or not, being that it was her original conflict that led to the group's founding.
  13. ...Such as? And yeah, he made her sing. Maybe he should stamp out the rest of her prejudiced nonsense while he's at it. Making her sing with them once is a bandaid. Teaching her when she's wrong is a cure. One is what a lazy parent does, one is what a good parent does. Honestly though, I don't believe that crap. I think she's just a brat for no good reason. But that theory isn't as fun.
  14. Red Dead Redemption. And that was even after the end was spoiled for me. Just...Ow. I have never taken as much sheer vindictive pleasure in hunting a man down...Only to have the moment of retribution spoiled by the realization that it doesn't matter because he already won a long time ago and there was no returning from it. That said, Bioshock Infinite brought a very different form of tears...The tears of rage and sheer unbridled horror. There was a point of no return late in the game where I spent five minutes or so desperately trying to find a way out, to go back to before everything fell apart...Because what I'd already found terrified me (I was actually trembling and wide-eyed) and whatever lay ahead could be worse. And it was... And of course, The Walking Dead. I played through basing my choices on Lee as I envisioned he would act as opposed to how I would act. That meant a lot of fence-sitting, neutral votes, desperately trying to keep the peace and hold everyone together. Well...Try to please everyone, and you end up pleasing no one. Hit a lot of tearjerking ordeals there. I'll be starting a second run soon with my own choices running things... Not quite tears but something about watching a man suicide by putting a rifle in his mouth (The Darkness) hit me pretty hard.
  15. So, in short, you're having doubts because people might hate you for what you like? Screw 'em. I've heard countless times "Real men don't watch cartoons about ponies!" Well, you know what? That's bull. Real men enjoy whatever they damn well please and do not have to justify it to anybody. And as for being constantly reminded of how different you are...Great! Sameness is boring. Blind conformity is stagnation. Difference is a fine trait to have provided you're not just being contrary for its own sake. On the other hand, I've got palsy and autism so I've spent my entire existence as an unfairly-judged outcast. Probably bothers me less than it would a normal person since I'm used to it.
  16. She picks on them for being blank flanks. She overlooked it with Babs because Babs sided with her. Standard bitch mentality, nothing all that deep there. Though I can't imagine her parents are any kind of decent given how she goes around acting and getting away with it...
  17. 1. Not a plot hole. Just a truant. 2. Not necessarily a plot hole. Different world, different rules. 3. He chose to bark to aid his disguise. Later, he didn't care. 4. "I think this character would do [x] but they didn't." is not a plot hole. 5. "I personally believe real friends act this way, not that way." is not a plot hole. I always sound cross. I'd explain why but that isn't the topic and nobody asked. Every new student I've seen has basically arrived that way. They walk in, they're new, then things go on. Plus that doesn't really put any holes in the plotline either way. As for the other thing, I guess it could be considered one. Still think it's more a case of "show, don't tell" myself...Are you Finnish, by any chance?
  18. There isn't a Twilight in that universe. The only one we ever see is the one who crosses over... Anyway, a show would just drain resources and quality from the main series. And the main series would in turn drain from the spinoff. So you'd have two shows ultimately inferior to the one.
  19. "We are shown this thing but not explicitly told this thing." isn't a plot hole. What kind of school launches investigations on new students? Where are you from?
  20. Things don't cross over between universes unscathed. Spike became a dog. Twilight became a human. Her crown became a "turn-people-into-demons" cap, at least when wielded by a villain. There's no bloody telling what would happen if she sent them all...Also, notice the human world already HAS a Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and so on and so forth. The universe will likely not tolerate duplicates, and god help them if the two Pinkies met. As for why they became suddenly able to use them...Why wouldn't they be able to? There's no suggestion that worlds would collapse if they did, so long as they use THEIR world's version of the Elements. Dragging one world's version of something into other worlds unbalances things, period. Solution: Quit this pointless train of thought of "She had one adventure without her pony pals. OH GOD SHE'LL ABANDONED HER FRIENDS FOREVER AHHHHH!"
  21. In what sad restrictive reality do you live where scaring kids is a terrible crime? Anyway, the crown turned Twilight into a bloody alicorn. Why shouldn't it turn an evil wearer into something powerful too. And it did cross over from a parallel world. Everything else that crossed over changed. Silly or out-of-place or whatever the demon thing was, the deus ex machina "friendship instantaneously redeems the villain because kids are idiots who will swallow that crap" thing with the villain was lousy either way.
  22. Fun theory but utter nonsense anyway. Not very interesting either. If Pinkie jumped through, she wouldn't just...Spectate. She's Pinkie. Also, it makes no sense when both Pinkies had a "hunch" that way. I like to think of Pinkie as the pony version of the classic Bugs Bunny. They both seem to deliberately abuse and exploit the hell out of bizarre cartoon physics and logic without even being aware that they're in a cartoon.
  23. The humans shouldn't sing about stomping hooves. But they do. It bugs me. But other than that, great song. On par with the series' music.
  24. Discord isn't evil. Sombra was a garbage villain. All he did was growl and never actually even remotely accomplish anything. We got two strong antagonists only for that crap to spoil what should've been a great two-parter.
  25. The entertainment in body swap episodes (for me) comes from the bodies being significantly differ, whether in sex or height or whatever. All the ponies are physically alike save for cosmetic differences. Now, if Pinkie Pie switched with Celestia...That's a great time!
