I love this song, it feels like G4 and given the stereotypes the pony races have of each other I have to wonder if the Mane 6 died in some horrible way that made each pony race suspicious of the other out of trauma. Racism rooted in a reason would not excuse the racism but certainly make the story more interesting. I feel like Gen 5 has the potential for depth and if it doesn't do surface level racism like MLP Gen 4 season 8 I would be thrilled. One thing that doesn't add up for me is why Izzy was not scared of Earth Ponies when other unicorns are, I wonder if Izzy knows the history of Mane 6?

Yes the person who uploaded the captions changed the lines that were already released in English. I noticed right away.

While "woke" was one of my concerns those lyrics can also be interpreted in completely the opposite manner so let's say hypothetically you are against something like CRT you can interpret the lyrics to mean "CRT is propaganda, whites are not born racist, whites and other races can live together in harmony, let's rewrite that history of harmony" The lines about sameness are of the same tone as Equestria Girls before the "woke" really came to fruition so I have no concerns there in particular as it's clear Sunny has flaws herself and pony society still operates differently from the human world. The lyrics are general enough not to warrant alarm bells.

I love the trailer! The animation is great! The pony personalities and movements look like G4. I like how the ponies dance in the trailer. The scene where the ponies run scared from a unicorn cracked me up! Izzy is like Pinkie and extremely sweet. I love how the voices sound like characters i.e Venessa Hudgens doesn't sound like Gabriella from HSM here, but like actually Sunny with a unique voice sound. The pegasus sisters are cute. It's obvious that characters wear fake wings and fake horns to hide themselves among the other races so my theory is still that Sunny will NOT become a real alicorn but rather just dress up as an Alicorn at some point. It would appear Sunny reads about the Mane 6 and assumes Izzy has magic like in her story but we don't know when unicorns lost the magic, they could have lost the magic centuries ago when friendships starting disappearing as the trailer is not specific on that. I'm interested to see why Sunny thinks Pegusus ponies have the answer to Izzy's magic issues.

This was my thought. Sunny seems extremely fascinated by Alicorns, unicorns, and pegasus ponies.

What I don't want: Political plots. Plots that are preachy. What I do want: Characters that have real depth with good voices.

In a multicultural society you need a unifying value or values to keep people or in this case creatures together and let each creature also have some individual cultural pride. If the culture got eroded and/or erased after Twilight was no longer in power and creatures and ponies each felt erased by the other it makes sense that other creatures would return to their lands or be forced out and ponies would separate into 3 distinct cultures unicorn, pegasus, and earth pony to establish identity again. Diversity is beautiful but you need more than that to hold ponies together and if you feel your own identity has been Watered down in the name of an artificial diversity instead of true deep friendship that will hurt. Perhaps Luster Dawn screwed things up after Twilight was no longer princess. Going back to just ponies is a good move since gen 4 season 8 diversity felt very forced despite me liking Student 6.

If the movie voice cast becomes super popular than perhaps a good chunk would return but as long as the voice actors are darn good actors and take the character's/roles very seriously I would accept a few cast changes. Cast changes is a part of production a lot of the time. Perhaps some Gen 4 actors would return as Gen 5 characters.

Venessa Hudgens from HSM as Sunny surprised me but I have no problem with it. The others seem like decent choices too.

It appears Sunny and other characters in Gen 5 dress up as other pony races so this may not be a "real" alicorn form for Sunny.

I never got the impression she loved or accepted Diamond but hoped I was wrong.

It cracked me up to see Rarity lose her mind in today's episode haha! :)

I haven't watched the whole series yet but I like it as mindless fun and I really like the one with Applejack's hat being a trend which I saw today on Discovery Family. It's something safe after the weirdness of 2020.

I think she still is a Princess. I think most of this show is within Pinkie Pie's sugar flooded mind so she sees Twilight as more "friend" then princess.

"Pony Life" premiered today as 2, 10 min segments spit into 4 parts to total about 20 mins. It was nice to see the episode in full without streaming interruptions. The first episode is in the "okay" category for me. I mainly enjoy Applejack with Ashleigh Ball's line delivery in this first one.

If talking about background ponies I would love to see the 2 ponies with Indian accents, Cumin and Marsala again. They are adorable! For mane 6 I want to see Twilight and Applejack.

I saw the trailer for Pony Life on Discovery Family that said it comes out on "Saturday 11:30am" where I am. I'm excited since I only got to stream a few episodes and I didn't see all of the episodes I did find online so now I get to see everything in full. I don't care if the show is like G4 or not it's just something fun to watch.

What day did these release on in Canada???

I would assume the new Pony Life gang would stand at about half the height of the original G4 gang because of the tiny legs and the heads are enlarged, but for all we know they could be normal size and "Pony Life" is through Pinkie Pie's mind LOL. I could totally picture "Pony Life" being an alternate universe within Pinkie's brain LOL.

The kid character does NOT look anything like a pony! He looks like cat plushies.

I saw the MLP movie on Universal Kids too a few days ago. If I'm not mistaken Freeform is owned by Discovery which of course owns Discovery Family which is at least partially owned by Hasbro so Freeform therefore has the ability to air the MLP movie. I remember when I took a class in media for my filmmaking I learned that most TV channels are owned by a small group of companies. Discovery owns a lot of channels including things like OWN. Disney and ABC overlap and Disney might have $$ deals in Discovery. Nick and a bunch of other channels are owned by a company called Viacom.

I saw it on youtube, and it's NOT FIM but I will be watching it! It's cute and "Best Of The Worst" had a good moral. The first one about Pinkie Pie and the baking competition was good too but not as good as "Best Of The Worst" and I think this is a sign the series is good and will get better with time. The characters act like themselves and Applejack and Rarity are extremely funny and cute here. Twilight is still so Twilight.
